- I take delivery of the BRAND NEW 2019 BMW Z4 (G29) with my E89 BMW Z4 at Chandlers Brighton BMW. The new 2019 Z4 has been a car i've wanted to see and drive for a while and huge thanks to Amer at Chandlers Brighton BMW for this opportunity. The new look is growing on me
It's a great car, I got to drive the M40i pre release actually identical colour spec to what you have been given here and I was very negative at first, but in the flesh it's just fine.... is it better than my 35is, absolutely...... nicer free revving engine, maybe feels a little quicker, not sure.... chassis is better handling..... ride comfort is better by miles....but I still have the horrible run flats on mine, so will have to see when I change them. As an overall package you can't go wrong, it will put a smile on your face everytime you use it, it is so enjoyable. NVH is about the same no issue with soft versus hard top. Only downside will be security. Looks I leave to you. I think the E89 is still beautiful, the G29 is just different, but pleasant in its own right. Well finished, nice new modern interior, voice activation is truly impressive, the 50 meter auto memory drive feature for 72 hrs is cool and incredible, but probably just a party trick for me, your misses will definitely not need to ask you to park it, if it's got memory. It can handle 95% of maneuvers, the really tricky stuff can upset it and make you overide. But if you parked it previously and it uses memory its reliable. ZF8 speed does not make you miss a true dual clutch box its perfectly adequate. I have also driven the M30i and its equally very pleasant... both will make excellent daily drivers, excellent cruisers or long trip companions. Is it as good as a Boxster, well it's closer than ever and the cheaper price may well be the deciding factor for you. The engine and sound are definitely better.... Could it be better, yes, but I would be splitting hairs and most of it is personal preference stuff, it would probably make it a lot more expensive, so as an overall package its a great great car... will I buy it, probably....would I take it over a M3 or M4 definitely. But mainly because it's more fun.. not faster... in a PC world where driving engagement is being constantly engineered out, the open top brings a lot of fun back in at lower road speeds. When government's will start to track speed with GPS and Volvo will speed limit all their vehicles soon.... this is all that is left. Would I take it over a M3 CS no. :-)

I ordernd my Black z4 30i last week....i Drove the 20i And it was already a Great experience
Isn't getting the 20i and then remapping it to 30i numbers for much less money than what BMW charges for the 30i over the 20i a smarter choice? Or is there something I'm missing that makes the 30i different over the 20i?
Congratulations buddy!! I myself gonna buy the E89 version soon. Its sad that India only has 35iS 😪. But i m gonna buy it anyway😉

Ride quality on my E89 without run flats and adaptive suspension is great actually. Biggest game changer was changing the run flats to normal, would highly recommend that :)
Consider doing the same to mine, ride is far too firm and a bit sketchy in the corners (better in sport plus with adaptive). What tyres did you go for? did you stick with the same profile or step up?
@@syclowes I'm thinking of changing the OEM RF tyres on my E89 30i aswell, to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S..

The new interior looks really nice, especially in red.. But tbh I still prefer the looks of the exterior of the old E89, especially the front.. And I'm also oldskool on the dials as well, I prefer the old anolog classic round ones over the new modern TFT screen..

@@ZimbaMotoring Other things I'll miss are the classic BMW NA i-6 engines and manual transmission.. With that I think the E89 is gonna be a wanted classic.. Not so sure what special stuff this new G29 brings in that regard..
