it's never easy saying goodbye, such a sad occasion losing such a talented artist like David, so glad these memories will live on RIP David Lindley, thanks for all the musical excellence!
R.I.P. Mr Dave. TRULY a one-of-a-kind and a GIANT of a musician and a human.
Rest in peace David Lindley and Mike Finnigan. We love you.
I have listened to David Lindley a jillion times over the years but did not know anything about him. Diving into the songs or artists I’ve loved I just recently started to love his talent and sweet personality. So sad my music friends are slowly slipping away.
RIP David Lindley
thanks for your music !!!!!!!!
for your smile !!!!!!!!! right into my soal !!!!!!!!
I love the respect they have for each other and Bonnie blowing a kiss was the cherry on top! Amazing talents.
Many years ago I painted Jackson's music room when he was living in Santa Monica on the street Palisades down by the park. One of my favorite memories of him is of him cooking breakfast in the kitchen and singing. The ceiling was wooden so the acoustics were perfect for his a cappella while he cooked. What a raw talent. Thanks for your many contributions and for the tribute.
It’s such pure pleasure to watch and listen to these master musicians make fabulous music in the studio! Bonnie absolutely hasn’t lost anything and is arguably better than ever, both vocally and playing her famous slide guitar. And each and every player in the band is a consummate professional in every respect.
Enjoy!!
Thank you so much for posting this! So sad David Lindley has passed!
Bonnie and David. It can't get better.
+Tseemo AMEN!!!
I love the duet! Great Harmony!
Haven't heard this before... Beautiful! Lindley never ceases to amaze me - what a sweet, rich vocal harmony he offers! The Swiss Army Knife of Music (& Supreme Ruler over All Cheap Guitars) strikes again! And of coarse Bonnie, as always, nails it with her pipes and slide.
You both make me smile!
Now, doesnt this just automatically make ya feel Happy?!!
Mr. Dave is the Musician’s Musician. RIP Mr. Lindley!
How lovely they sound together yet such diverse talents. What fun they had.
David played violin for so many artist in the 70s. What a find to here him playing with Bonnie!
These are the REAL pros in the music biz- Luv Em:)
I came across this by accident when I was searching for David's stuff. Man I feel like I just struck gold! LOL What a great song and a great band :-)
Can't get this out of my head. The tone Lindley gets is so beautiful and the vocals are the same... I was lucky to have heard El Rayo X live in a small venue once...real talent is miraculous to experience.
Carlos Nells, yeah, the first time I saw El Rayo X was in a 90 seat Club. nothing quite like hearing lap steel through a dumble amplifier from close up!
We saw them in New Orleans in the 80s. Incredible show. They played until 3:30 AM.
Yes "real talent is miraculous to experience". Thank you Carlos .... and Mr. Dave!
Such sad news about David passing. His talent is unsurpassed. Never forgotten.
My older daughter and I used to sing this when she was 3 or 4. Brings back some great memories. Great song, and Bonnie and Mr. Lindley, not surprisingly, do a fabulous job, along with the rest of the band. Much love!
Kindred spirits at play together here. What a treat!
The cream always rises to the top, wonderful.
wow Bonnie..how you have taken me through the years.....incredible...
I never get tired of her slide playing ❤️
How can you not love these artists, always a fan of Bonnie
@Bonnie Raitt being a drummer myself also liked Rick so tasteful ,your a class act too Bonnie.
@Bonnie Raitt not a problem, just one musician to another I'm 71 and still playing actively
Now that is exactly how to do a 'tribute' track - staying true to the original BUT putting your own spin on it - best track on the album, by far...
Love this Jackson song…sing it Bonnie & David…love y’all…❤️❤️❤️😊✨✨✨
Love you Bonnie!!! Great song. Amazing voice. 👏👏👏 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Goddamn this just tears my heart right out. Beyond beautiful.
Aside from all the extremely tasty playing and singing, the Very Coolest Thing about this video might be that it is the only time I have ever seen Lindley in a plain black shirt! It is so incredibly weird to see him without a floral print polyester shirt and orange spandex pants..... like I have been teleported into some kind of alternate universe.
His reglar outfit probably was in the laundry...
Bonnie! Great As Usual! Nice tribute To Jackson! Love how tight they All are!
One thee great voice and slide players plus a sweetheart of a person... Bonnie is the real deal!
@Bonnie Raitt thank you Bonnie x
I met you on the 'Road Tested Tour' in London in the 90's
I am a pro songwriter and have a couple of songs perfect for you!!
Can I have a contact email or Facebook Messenger to send you a demo?
Cheers

The world is a sadder place without David Lindley
What great sounding musicians.
Dig the shit out of seeing and hearing a little of the process of these masters..tks for posting
Wow! The best of the best.
Great song and Bonnie and David are so cool when performing and there sound is terrific..
The voice of an angel and slide guitar that will melt your heart. What a Sweet Heart.
two slide legends! both huge inspirations of mine!
RIP Mr. Dave and RIP Mike Finnegan (on B3 and clavinet here). Gone but never forgotten.
at the break Lindley almost sounds like Astro from UB40 on "Red Red Wine" . . . great song . .thanks for posting.
this definitely does it for me....just a great song and style
This was very interesting to see how musicians put things together in the studio. And such fabulous famous musicians at that. I've often wondered if bands who play together all the time say, "OK, key of C, go." Without a written score as those followed by orchestras, its hard to imagine how they all know what they're supposed to do just naturally-but that's why they are professionals. :)
that aint working - but that's the way you do it - play your guitar on MTV. Excellent glimpse into real music making. Bonnie is a great bandleader. Thank you for sharing this gem.
this is awesome music and fun to watch you having fun debra
Just Wonderful
Thank You for sharing
Just lovely 😍😍😍
"People say I'm the life of the party......The Tracks Of My Tears was the inspiration for this song I reckon.
Great. Bonnie's voice is just gorgeous.
Absolutely Incredible. Real Music !

When I was young I always wondered if an angel were actually placed here on this earth what would it's voice even sound like? 🤔🤔 Later I realized the voice of an angel belonged to
Bonnie Raitt.
max sounds, great old time number
great
So cool...I love this...ah la la laah ahahaha
Apparently Jason Farrell thought this video was about HIM; a chance to show how many angles, cuts, and effects he could squeeze into three and a half minutes. God damn.
This is just so interesting. Add Jackson's voice in here and it would really be complete...But then Jackson Browne is my all-time favorite artist. Not that Bonnie and David aren't as well. I can't make up my mind. Good thing they can each be favorite.Blessings to all...EdADrummer
@Ed Halfren. Wouldn’t that be great ? I don’t know if there ever was a time that they ever played together, but there is a maybe. On album 2 or 3 while David was a major star musically on Jackson’s albums , it’s possible that Bonnie was singing chorus or backup. I don’t know that for a fact, but it is possible. I didn’t check it out.
is there any button for a thousand likes here?
Note that Bonnie handles David's usual job here, by means of her slide, that once served as the neck of a long-ago-emptied bottle of wine.
Dave!
Old rules!
Who was the lady percussionist in the bonnie/ brian adams rock steady song? She was really good!
RIP David
I think I just wet myself. This is just beautiful.
Ricky Fatarr
💚🌱🥀😃
Hutch!
David loves his Regge rhythms
Great tribute album produced by Jimmy Lafave.
I need to slide...really!
