- Let's see how many glitches, tricks and exploits Super Mario 64 has. This video focuses more on "secondary" glitches instead of the more complex ones like the BLJ or the Bob-omb glitches.

For those wondering why grabbing the corner of the castle insta kills Mario, when you grab that corner and pull yourself up, Mario goes out of bounds which the game handles by instantly killing Mario. He loses his hat because when Mario goes out of bounds, he reverts to his default state where he's hatless.
Mario dies by air
This was most likely due to the N64’s poor collision detection. However, it is fixed in the 3D All-Stars version.

Normally when Mario tries to walk or jump into an area that's a wall or ceiling or otherwise out of bounds, the game checks to see where his next position will be. If it's invalid, it prevents him from moving there by not updating his position. However, when he grabs the ledge and pulls himself up, that particular action DOESN'T check to see if where he's going to end up is out of bounds or in a wall, so by the end of the animation, Mario's final position ends up out of bounds. The game's failsafe for Mario ending up out of bounds is just to immediately kill him so he can respawn.

I accidentally did the Invisible Bowser glitch the other day. It's really cool.
Edit: It is, in fact, possible to get un-stuck from between the Bully and the corner.
Also edit: It's possible to stand inside any enemy, and not just the Piranha Plant.
I found out another thing similar the ground pound/whomp. In the second Bowser fight, if you ground pound at the right time while Bowser tilts the platform, you will clip right through it

0:04 - When mario grab bowser while bowser goes fade away to transparency 1 and teleport, the bowser transparency will stuck into 1.
0:45 - Unknown.
1:00 - Mario abusing the collision detector.
1:42 - When you are in the deadzone, the void thing, the game will instantly make mario die. This is probably to avoid players to exploit getting out of bounds.
2:00 - Having a good gaming chair.
2:24 - Unknown.
2:46 - When bowser are throwned off their own platform and (want) goes back to their own platform, mario grab him in midair will result their velocity goes crazy (and Bowser should've have died).
3:26 - When mario reach their hp 0, the game will wait until you reach the ground, or until mario animations are over, and then it will get mario into the dead function(?).
4:15 - Bruh.
4:36 - The 1-up mushroom have find mario, but mario collision are short, and the mushroom are high, their collision cannot reach or be touch.
4:52 - Unknown.
5:08 - Unknown.
5:49 - When mario reach the zone of npc thing, the game will get the mario to talk the npc. but since mario abused it or too fast to hit to the double jump. the game will wait until mario reach the ground.
7:23 - When mario are attacked or damaged, their hit/damage collision will turned off, and then some seconds, the collision will be turned on again, but since mario are too near to the hit/damage collision, The game wait until mario are far away from their hit/damage collision.

Speed running in a nutshell.
I'm going to test as much of these as possible. I feel like some are for other versions of the game or something. I'm pretty sure you cant ground pound while holding a babomb in the original game. I still have the one I bought in 1997 so we'll see.
Update: The Babomb thing doesnt work on the actual game. Mario lets go during the pound and the babomb walks away and blows up. They do push mario through the bars though and the 1 up thing work when crouched and when crawling. it doesnt work when you press b when crouched for his leg sweep. Also, bowlders can blow up babombs.
