@@arangaming1415 There are some glitches in the game that are really just annoying and not a cool and unharming thing to have, SM64 especially I still don't know where people get that it aged well because that game has a lot of really annoying glicthes and things that can happen with the fisics that you can stumble upon by just playing the game
Im fine with them leaving all of those glitches, it adds more to the experiences and are pretty fun to do, glad they decided not to try and fix them, i wish the BLJ would have had the same luck as the rest of them.
On one hand since these are emulated versions I understand that emulation naturally will have its issues... on the other hand this is officially released by Nintendo so...
Better to download the emulator and ROMs yourself then to rely on a $60 rushed emulation with none of the updates that are often done to open-sourced programs such as Dolphin.

Theacksters You got that right! The f#$kin’ custom HDified Super Mario Sunshine done before 3D AllStars’ reveal looked absolutely terrible, and Super Mario 64 with the HD textures (not Render96) had some awkward looking textures here and there like Mario’s eyes.
He tried to go to Parallel Universes like in SM64 but the gods learned of his exploits and put death barriers around each universe this time so Mario couldn't get out of his original universe alive.

Having the same glitches as the original is fine, it wasn't meant to be a remaster that fixed every issue, just small touches to the visuals, however adding more visual glitches and some weird changes to sound is pretty bad.

Understandable for the Switch but for the Wii U, they could've easily done it because it had native Wii hardware which also means native GameCube hardware as proven with Nintendont as it works amazing on the WiiU

Actually, Galaxy and Windwaker share a LOT of water-based similarities. It seems that Nintendo adapted the Windwaker water systems for Galaxy. I wish i could remember what the video was called, but I watched a video talking about that very thing.
I just 100% beat Sunshine and they didn’t even up scale the picture at the end of the credits. It’s not even 4:3, it’s so tiny on the screen idk what happened there
That shortcut in Bubble Breeze Galaxy saved a lot of trouble, and I'm glad it makes a return. In fact, I'm happy that a lot of these glitches are still in the game because they're either helpful or funny as heck to watch.
As someone who's first time playing Sunshine has been from 3D All Stars (honestly Sunshine was the main reason why I got the collection. Kind of figured that getting 64 and Galaxy was like a bonus, since a copy of Sunshine on the GameCube seems to be about as much as the collection), I thought it was weird how the sound to start those races/timed parts sounded like a censor beep. Kind of wondered why they had that as an "Okay... Go!" signal. Didn't know it was just something caused by an emulator.
I played on GameCube but just didn’t question it because it’s been so long since then. It’s weird for the block the moved up, but I actually like it for the flipping platforms.
EA punished remasters of the first two command and conquer games and sold them for 20 bucks with free online and all of their expansions on a separate distribution service (Steam). E fucking A, the company that is known for “a sense of pride and accomplishment”.

This makes me so sad that Nintendo took the easy way with using emulation ports. Yes it works. Yes the games are still great. But I envision Nintendo doing the hard work of remaking at least 64 and Sunshine using their current 3D Mario engine. I feel like a “3D All Stars” pack like this deserves better than “port it to an emulator and do the bare minimum to make it work.”
What bothers me more is that they have working emulators for older consoles and could easily re-release many older games on the Switch at low cost but instead, they sell them full price and for a limited time on top of it to create artificial rarity. They'll repeat the process over again during the next console generation.
Pfft. You think Nintendo is a charity or something?. As a company, their primary focus is to maximize profits. They have done shady things before and they will do so again if it means they get away with it. It's why 3D all stars is a barebones emulation with no real improvements or additions. The music player doesn't count as an improvement , since all that music is from soundtracks that already exist. The real passion comes from the development team members, but if big Nintendo says no, then no one else's opinion matter in the teams.

The worst thing about the emulator glitches is that it seems to imply nintendo is using the same or extremely similar emulation and roms to the ones that were already available and made by fans. Nintendo spends so much time and effort trying to get stuff like that shut down, but there's a very real chance that sunshine never would've been ported had those people not put in the work to preserve these old games for them

Honestly I have a really big gut feeling that Nintendo just straight up used the dolphin emulator instead of developing their own. I mean there are numerous similarities between issues that dolphin ran into and what sunshine is running into. Also noticed that the game suffers from slow down when transitioning from endgame to the sub menu with your shine sprite count

@@butterbrick2650 No, the reason they used that version in particular is because is the latest version they had, for japanese player that glitch have been removed since 1997, why will they use and older, more buggy version of the game in their release? The reason they used the older versions on the Wii U for example, is because the older is the version that is already translated to english and is easier to add to the virtual console than translating the Shindou version to english, spanish, german, etc. This time they cannot do that because the switch is region free and they cannot have multiple versions of the package per region, it would be a nightmare to update in case of a fatal error ocurring, so they went with the latest version of each game, created a patch for the languages, change a little bit the visuals and call it a day. Lazy, yes, but effective nonetheless.
Thank god a lot of these glitches u has to go out of your way or at least experiment and/or its visual and they are not extremely game breaking until you discover the glitch but most of the time u just lose a life and try again. Nintendo though should of known about these and fixed them but at the end of the day its not game breaking to the point where i would go out on a limb to bash them. The mario galaxy ones seem more like PRO TIPS then anything except the cannon one though the levels are not that hard to begin with.

I watch a lot of simple and pannenkoek so I am more than familiar with that game and it's numerous glitches. And on the topic of the other games, 80% of what I saw in sunshine I've seen people do on console, and the other 20% I am pretty sure can be done I just haven't seen them done in a while. In Galaxy all of the glitches I've seen people do on console. the only glitches in this entire video that do not exist on console are the ones prefaced with "This also happened on dolphin". Every other glitch is straight from the OG game.

Idk if this was already a glitch in galaxy but The thing I didn’t understand while playing Galaxy was that everytime I saved and left and then went back into my save, I’m back down to 4 lives, before I would have like 20 lives, now 4, and the Mail toad would give me letters from peach with 5 1-Ups, even after I competed the main story I still get letters from peach saying she’s kidnapped, Come on Nintendo, step up your game

i think what bothers me, is me assuming they have people looking at this stuff like play testers, as they put it together and nobody thought the debug items being present was odd or that a sound wasnt playing properly or the other things you mentioned. what i find humorous is that they are all the same problems dolphin had early on with Sunshine, which were ironed out by "ametuers" for free cuz they want a game that people like to run and look as nice or nicer than the original. meanwhile those obviously badly AI-upscaled cutscenes look like ass, ive seen that frame rate error before of image ghosting when there is too much movement and you dont do something to compensate for it. im also seeing far back details morph around like AI-upscaled images sometimes do. fairly sure the original didnt have either issue, which means Nintendo may not have the original files for those cutscenes at all. if they did they could have fixed Peach's eyeball earrings in that one shot of the opening cutscene. lol
This, like I get not patching out the collision issues, a lot of those were in the originals, but the more obvious ones are new, like the dev cubes in the secret stages

Tbh the unofficial emulation now is actually way better than this collection, I could probably boot up my PC right now, rip my disc of sunshine using my wii (the legal way to obtain Roms) and get a better experience than this collection using dolphin using built in features of the emulator, without any of the lazy clearly AI powered updates Nintendo did (its pretty clear none of the texture updates were done by hand, all AI upscaling, which I could do using a website right now)
I mean there's only a few true issues that this shitty emulation causes like the slow down when using the map in SMS. Otherwise I don't know why people are even upset knowing what they were getting into lmao.

Actually, Mario Galaxy got recompiled for the Switch, so it not actually running on a emulator, so that means we could see more Wii games get recompiled for the Switch in the future.

I remember the Sirena Beach Cleaning glitch happening to me on dolphin by simply just starting the mission. It'd auto-complete instantly. I've _never_ heard of it completing with only some of the goop cleaned. In my cases it's either almost all of it or none, no inbetweens.

The movement felt stiff. It just felt like more of the same and I was already trudging through it. (I don't like Galaxy. It's a good game, but it fails to be a good platformer.)
Although you were never supposed to go that high at 6:24 , it's still pretty cool that they had ricco harbor, pinna park, and the plaza rendered in a game from 2002.
Well its rendered so you can see them off in the distance while in bounds, makes it feel like a connected world rather than a set of levels

Actually, Galaxy and Windwaker share a LOT of water-based similarities. It seems that Nintendo adapted the Windwaker water systems for Galaxy. I wish i could remember what the video was called, but I watched a video talking about that very thing.

As someone who's first time playing Sunshine has been from 3D All Stars (honestly Sunshine was the main reason why I got the collection. Kind of figured that getting 64 and Galaxy was like a bonus, since a copy of Sunshine on the GameCube seems to be about as much as the collection), I thought it was weird how the sound to start those races/timed parts sounded like a censor beep. Kind of wondered why they had that as an "Okay... Go!" signal. Didn't know it was just something caused by an emulator.

$35 would be pushing it. It should have costed $30 tops. It’s only games and the sound track and nothing else.

This makes me so sad that Nintendo took the easy way with using emulation ports. Yes it works. Yes the games are still great.
But I envision Nintendo doing the hard work of remaking at least 64 and Sunshine using their current 3D Mario engine. I feel like a “3D All Stars” pack like this deserves better than “port it to an emulator and do the bare minimum to make it work.”
What bothers me more is that they have working emulators for older consoles and could easily re-release many older games on the Switch at low cost but instead, they sell them full price and for a limited time on top of it to create artificial rarity. They'll repeat the process over again during the next console generation.

Pfft. You think Nintendo is a charity or something?. As a company, their primary focus is to maximize profits. They have done shady things before and they will do so again if it means they get away with it. It's why 3D all stars is a barebones emulation with no real improvements or additions. The music player doesn't count as an improvement , since all that music is from soundtracks that already exist. The real passion comes from the development team members, but if big Nintendo says no, then no one else's opinion matter in the teams.

The worst thing about the emulator glitches is that it seems to imply nintendo is using the same or extremely similar emulation and roms to the ones that were already available and made by fans. Nintendo spends so much time and effort trying to get stuff like that shut down, but there's a very real chance that sunshine never would've been ported had those people not put in the work to preserve these old games for them

Honestly I have a really big gut feeling that Nintendo just straight up used the dolphin emulator instead of developing their own. I mean there are numerous similarities between issues that dolphin ran into and what sunshine is running into. Also noticed that the game suffers from slow down when transitioning from endgame to the sub menu with your shine sprite count

my theory is that Nintendo used dolphin and then just patched the code from the original consoles for the games to be able to run on the switch

It's actually their own emulator called Hagi. Though it's still hillarious how a fan made emulator is still better than an official nintendo one.

ThEighthSage still, they knew what they were doing, and yet didn’t even bother attempting to at least remove other glitches in ALL of the games. It feels like they just went “let’s pick this version for this game only because we want a single glitch the game is known for to be removed for no reason other than to say we tried removing glitches”

@@butterbrick2650 No, the reason they used that version in particular is because is the latest version they had, for japanese player that glitch have been removed since 1997, why will they use and older, more buggy version of the game in their release? The reason they used the older versions on the Wii U for example, is because the older is the version that is already translated to english and is easier to add to the virtual console than translating the Shindou version to english, spanish, german, etc.
This time they cannot do that because the switch is region free and they cannot have multiple versions of the package per region, it would be a nightmare to update in case of a fatal error ocurring, so they went with the latest version of each game, created a patch for the languages, change a little bit the visuals and call it a day. Lazy, yes, but effective nonetheless.

Thank god a lot of these glitches u has to go out of your way or at least experiment and/or its visual and they are not extremely game breaking until you discover the glitch but most of the time u just lose a life and try again. Nintendo though should of known about these and fixed them but at the end of the day its not game breaking to the point where i would go out on a limb to bash them. The mario galaxy ones seem more like PRO TIPS then anything except the cannon one though the levels are not that hard to begin with.

@@voxmm8579 Bruh. Literally, all of the glitches shown for Mario 64 can be done on original hardware. I watch a lot of simple and pannenkoek so I am more than familiar with that game and it's numerous glitches. And on the topic of the other games, 80% of what I saw in sunshine I've seen people do on console, and the other 20% I am pretty sure can be done I just haven't seen them done in a while. In Galaxy all of the glitches I've seen people do on console. the only glitches in this entire video that do not exist on console are the ones prefaced with "This also happened on dolphin". Every other glitch is straight from the OG game.

Idk if this was already a glitch in galaxy but The thing I didn’t understand while playing Galaxy was that everytime I saved and left and then went back into my save, I’m back down to 4 lives, before I would have like 20 lives, now 4, and the Mail toad would give me letters from peach with 5 1-Ups, even after I competed the main story I still get letters from peach saying she’s kidnapped, Come on Nintendo, step up your game
That is intended, and the game reverts to before you beat Bowser when you play again. So Peach IS still kidnapped.

i think what bothers me, is me assuming they have people looking at this stuff like play testers, as they put it together and nobody thought the debug items being present was odd or that a sound wasnt playing properly or the other things you mentioned. what i find humorous is that they are all the same problems dolphin had early on with Sunshine, which were ironed out by "ametuers" for free cuz they want a game that people like to run and look as nice or nicer than the original.
meanwhile those obviously badly AI-upscaled cutscenes look like ass, ive seen that frame rate error before of image ghosting when there is too much movement and you dont do something to compensate for it. im also seeing far back details morph around like AI-upscaled images sometimes do.
fairly sure the original didnt have either issue, which means Nintendo may not have the original files for those cutscenes at all.
if they did they could have fixed Peach's eyeball earrings in that one shot of the opening cutscene. lol

Tbh the unofficial emulation now is actually way better than this collection, I could probably boot up my PC right now, rip my disc of sunshine using my wii (the legal way to obtain Roms) and get a better experience than this collection using dolphin using built in features of the emulator, without any of the lazy clearly AI powered updates Nintendo did (its pretty clear none of the texture updates were done by hand, all AI upscaling, which I could do using a website right now)

Its sad how Nintendo takes down sites that carries emulation and have features removed for pirated versions, yet they used an emulation version for the 3D All Star collection.
And they failed to optimize it correctly.
i mean they created the damn game if they wanna emulate it theres nothing stopping them they stop others from it because its piracy of nintendos content.
@@zephyrdeluxe but emulation isn't the real source code, that why Nintendo takes them down. The fact Nintendo used a fan emulation and not the real source code is what werid because Nintendo had always been vocal on that they hate emulation
MERCHIODOS they made the emulator that is used for 3D All Stars and they have used emulators many times in the past. i think saying they hate emulation is just what they say but in reality they dont because whatever gets them money works
I remember the Sirena Beach Cleaning glitch happening to me on dolphin by simply just starting the mission. It'd auto-complete instantly. I've _never_ heard of it completing with only some of the goop cleaned. In my cases it's either almost all of it or none, no inbetweens.
