    Yes, quality! Thank you so much for the video! I bought the brass ones that you are showing and couldn’t figure out how they went back together. I now see the sleeve that pulls back to get these two pieces back together. ❤❤❤.

    Thanks for the video. I have a different quick connect sold by Gilmour that is made in a similar manner. At first I thought one piece of it was broken, but than I realized after seeing your video that you need to have another quick connect that is connected to it in order for the water to come out. My problem with that is that sometimes I do like to use the hose without anything connected to it, but I don't want to have to unscrew the quick connect in order to use it.

    Eley has quick connects and they are a FULL flow full port 3/4” INTERNAL id. I have used them for going on 3 years now and I use them every day multiple multiple times a day I own about 8 of them. I have only ruined 1 because I pinched it in my drop door on my enclosed trailer.

    Fix It Guy, thank you. I agree, plastic is bad-terrible. My QDs are from Harbor Freight and are likely not brass (still not sure why non-brass is bad). I'd like to know your brand and how/where you purchased. More importantly, how you replace the QDs internal o-ring washers, where you get them, and the right part numbers. Again, thank you; good video.

      Galvanic corrosion. I used the cheapy ones. Some sort of anodized metal, aluminum maybe? And when attached to a brass hose it welds itself.
      The HF ones are the only ones you can buy locally that’s brass. HD sells all cheapy stuff. Not sure about Lowe’s and Ace

    Brian, we use stainless steel quick connections on the water hoses for our pressure washers. These are supplied by the client. They are larger than the other quick connections on the pressure hose, but similar in design. They are generally available from plumbing suppliers, but rarely home centers.
    They make set up and tear down a bit quicker.

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 года назад +1

      Yeah right on. I paid a little mint at Ace for them. I was going to look at the plumbing supply the next time I go there. Thank you for that info and for watching Bryant.

      I had not used them tell this year. Being solid brass they should stand up to kid abuse. We’ll see how it goes.

    I used your provided link to Amazon to purchase these but I don't think these are the same one's your using with the block valve to stop water flow to disconnect and reconnect without shutting the main water feed off as a reviewer asked if these have the internal shut off they said no these do not so how can I purchase the same one's your using?
    Thank you and great video.

    Should you oil the ball bearings?

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  3 года назад +1

      This is a great question that I have not ever thought about. I would not just cause my kids drink from the hose. But if there was an issue you could use some plumbers grease I guess

    • @ranger178
      @ranger178 3 года назад +2

      i use some silicone grease in mine for the ball bearings and the rubber washers it is waterproof and inert won't contaminate water i use it on clippers for fish pond plants wd 40 would kill fish

    Fix It Guy...can you help me? I have a 50 gallon collapsible rain barrel on my deck to water my potted plants that has a 3/8" male quick connect at the bottom to attach a garden hose. However, my 10ft garden hose is 5/8". I am stuck as how to make this work I know that this is off the subject at hand but any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    they used to have brass ones at home depot then they changed brands and types every time i go back they are not compatible with what i have and they are aluminum now so they corrode i had all kinds of troubles with the quick connects with shutoffs in them . they don't let enough water through for pressure washers by the way. I must have 3 kinds over the years and they don't work right with each other

      I will never understand why the put cheap stuff out when there are better options out there. At least at Ace Hardware I was able to decide for myself between the brass the cheap metal and the plastic ones. Thank you for your comments.

    All these brass quick connectors start leaking after a couple of seasons. The male part erodes where steel balls grip on it.

    I've searched for the auto shut off type connectors . Can't find them anymore . The only thing that is sold has a hand vale shut off not an auto . You have to buy three pieces to make it work like the auto use too . What a rip off . Auto has been discontinued . Bought my 5 years ago .

    • @ThatFixItGuy
      @ThatFixItGuy  2 года назад

      Really I would think it is just a solenoid type valve.

    • @BionicRasta
      @BionicRasta 2 года назад +1

      Yes the Twinkle Star Quick Connector no longer has an auto stop valve. Try the GEKA Quick Click Hose End Connector with Waterstop they are chrome plated brass. The Geka water lance looks good quality too, similar to Dramm with a thumb valve in the handle.

    I recommend you put a shut off on the male end of all your garden hoses or you will take a bath when you try to switch to a hand sprayer or some other device. Who wants to worry about taking a bath when they plug the mail into the quick release while the water is waiting at the tip just my two cents
