But regarding uberEat and swiggy, they directly charge hotels now, 100 rupee biriyani they give restaurant 85 or 90 only now. Delivery charge is there for almost all orders now, peak time charges extra.
Restaurants have advantage, most of restaurents are getting 30-40% increase in business because of delivery without increasing any further resources. If hotel was selling 100 meals inside hotel, now they sell 100 inside and 40 as delivery. some hotels even get more than 50% increase in peak times.

Very good information Sharique. I always had a doubt regarding the profit these companies make after giving huge discounts. Plus these companies have to provide Rs 30 to their delivery boys for each delivery. Hence, they are investing a huge amount for their publicity and marketing. Even Ambani also used to give free sim and free internet for 6 months for acquiring customers and later started the real business from the point he got the maximum customers.

The actual cost of the Biriyani is less. The restaurant have labour charges, Water charge, Facility charges etc. If they're delivering through a online food platform. These companies get the food for lesser price from restaurant. Eg 100 rupee Biriyani include the service charge and labor charge and other extra charges. But the actual cost of just making a Biriyani is 60+ other all extra profit. This will reduce the loss. Please make a video about BYJU's learning App ;)
