- Hey Y'all! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I wanted to share how my first semester went as a nursing student!! I also go over some tips on what I feel can help someone in a position similar as me to get through your first semester as well! I dive into my grades, my study group, how I studied and the 3 major important tips to get past the first semester!! (I also give you all a sneak peek into next semester as well!)

Also it’s good to have all your prerequisite completed before your enroll for school. It would have helped shorten my time in school.
Man I’m so glad you’re doing well! It’s definitely a learning process. I’m a single mom of one 1 year old little boy. I’m so THANKFUL for my support system. I work full time and go to nursing school. Tests every two weeks and information overload daily but somehow I’m passing and that’s all that matters😂🤣
Yes girl!! As long as we are learning to be safe nurses and are passing that is what matter most!! We are doing it for our babies and in the end it will all be worth it!! Cuz girl! I am right there with you! only difference is I have 1-2 exams every week and when I tell you, I about lose it each week for a small moment and then collect it and keep pushing 😂 its a process lmao
Believe it or not I’d rather have weekly tests. We had 7 chapters on our last test from fundamentals only. We also had 2 pharm chapters and an easy conversion problem. All that for a 50 question test 😤🤦🏾♀️

Prayers to you love ❤ i went through it as a single mom of 1 but was blessed to be at a school that cater to single moms by giving dorms and meals. I am now restarting my nursing journey as a fiance and my LO is older, prayerfully things are more easier. God is with you, stayed prayed up and give time to Him daily 🙏🏾❤️

As soon as you said single mom of 3, in nursing school, I RAN to the subscribe button bc I’m currently starting my last pre-req and the fact that I’m actually coming up in nursing school is giving me SO much anxiety. I’m also a mother of 3 with my oldest being 13 and my youngest 10 months and I just have my days where I wonder if I’ll be able to make this work. Like girl, are you getting besides yourself knowing you don’t have much help 🥺 Thank you soooooooo much for this inspiration man
LOL 😂 well thank you for the support!! You got this mama! You'll get in and you will do great! My oldest two are 8 and 6 1/2! my youngest is about to be 3! So I definitely feel you! I have my days like that too in all honesty! I mean we are mamas, of course we have our days where we won't feel our strongest or as organized and girl, that's okay!
I won't say i'm "getting besides myself" but I can admit sometimes I feel like I can be taking on too much, but then I remember what it was like 2 years ago when this was just a dream, so I kinda just keep going. I make it work, ask friends and church family, and if it comes down to it, I just have to be a mom first, but that is where being punctual and on top of things can be in your favor because then professors and instructors understand more!

Girl I feel you! I have two teens so they pretty much do their own thing, BUT I’m a single mom and I still have to provide for them. I’m also wondering how I’m going to make this work, because I still need to work(at least part time) I applied 3 weeks ago, so I’m waiting to hear back. This is completely stressful! I wish you the best of luck ok your journey. Keeping going. You will succeed.

oh yeah, it definitely is! I am in my second semester now and I have 3 classes! When I do another video like this at the end of this semester, it is going to be a DOOZY lol best wishes!! You got this!
Girl I salut you! I’m not a single parent but I have 2 toddlers, currently 5 months pregnant with my third, and I’m in my 3rd semester of nursing school. And let me tell you it’s a journey 😭

You’re doing amazing…. I wish you all the best in your journey. Thank you for your insights and advice. I’m a mom of 3 boys as well, working full time and finishing my pre reqs for the nursing program. I agree, support system is important and at times we just have to swallow our pride and accept help. I’m thankful for All the help my husband is giving and his patience. Balance and schedule is everything. One thing I do to help me get through the week is meal and snack prep. I spend my Saturday morning cooking and prep as much freezer meals and snacks I can for the week so I don’t have to worry about cooking during the week and Sunday is for family and kids. Thank you for the inspiration.

You are amazing and I love hearing your story. You give me so much and inspiration to JUST DO IT! I've been wanting to be a nurse for YEARS and I even got accepted and ended up getting a teaching job because I was too scared to go to nursing school. But I'm trying again this year and Lord willing I get accepted again :) But thank you for your encouraging videos, I absolutely love watching your content. There's not many moms on here who are in nursing school so I'm so glad you started one.
Oh my gosh. Thank you for this sweet comment! It means so much! Same here! I’ve always wanted to be a nurse but I kept changing my mind because either I was too scared or I had things going on and just couldn’t figure out how to do it get in a program lol but instead I became a dental assistant and realized that my heart wasn’t in it and I needed more. So when the pandemic happened I decided enough was enough, I finished my pre-reqs! And thank god I got in! So sometimes, we have to live first ya know! And thank you so much ☺️ I realized when I was looking for more channels, I didn’t see many so I decided to switch over to recording this journey and I am so happy I can reach to others out there who are in the same boat as me! Let’s ride this wave together lol 😂

yes mama! It is POSSIBLE! It is not easy at all and some moments will be worse than others where you feel like giving it all up but if you push through those moments and keep going, your life will continuously change and you can see just how strong you really are! You got this mama ❤️💪🏾

I'm back in school and have young kids and a full-time job that I'll have to cut back on. School is challenging but if you can put a plan together on studying times and don't compare yourself to others you'll get through it. I'm familiar with Healthcare but not good at testing. It's going to be hard to work with it but I want to complete the program

can you do a video of the breakdown of fundamentals of nursing? i am trying to learn ahead before getting into nursing school because i know to process to actually get into a school can take a while, i have all of my prerequisites done, so going in, the first semester, i will just have to take only nursing classes, so for first semester, just fundamentals of nursing, but i don't know what that all includes, could you do a breakdown video of that? if not, could you just reply to this comment with that information please?

Do you work full time? Because I’ll have a kid, work full time, and be going to school. I don’t think it’s hit me yet but I need to know what I’m in for
Hey! First congratulations! second, now that i am going into my third semester, I will say working full time may have to be placed on the back burner once you get into the nursing program. maybe go down to part time and just pick up extra hours when you can but to obligate yourself to 40hrs a week may not be the best because with classes, clinicals, studying, and having to take care of your kiddo, you are going to have a rough time staying on track with everything. What I do is work at the hospital and made it clear to my manager the day that I mandatory have to work and if I can pick up an extra shift or two in between I will but bare minimum I am going to only be working 2-3 times a month. I also qualify for assistance because I am a single parent, so girl as much as we want to be prideful and not ask for help, this is a season where pride may have to be set aside becuase this is the start to something new. If you have parents, relatives or anyone in your corner that can help you, ask girl. Because it is going to be difficult but it will only last for a little while. You got this mama. Just keep your eyes on that prize, have tunnel vision and get that degree. ❤

How are you paying your bills with only working twice a month? 😭😭
girl its hard. I honestly keep my bills to a minimum - lights, insurance, phone and internet that's it. I do get some assistance while I am in school to help with food and stuff which I am so thankful to god for because its a struggle. I own my car thank god so I dont have to worry about car payments.. honestly I keep my bills at an all time low and any money i get back from school or anything I SAVE it to live off of, and once i hit a break, I work a ton to save up money again. its an ongoing cycle but it will be worth it!
