I adore how sensitive Hensley is in all of your videos. She is truly the most loving person and I know she is going to grow into such an amazing woman.
Such a good video and looks like it was a great trip! Seeing you guys in the raft and walking on ropes without the kids around really shows how much fun you both are, your adventurous spirit!!! ❤
Our friends did a 10 day (maybe more) guided trip down the Snake River for their honeymoon with a bunch of friends. Camping the whole way down. They LOVED it!
I'm carnivore and my wife it keto-vore. We eat a lot of meat. I do it for health reasons!. I did try vegan for 1 year, it was a bust. I did keto for 3.5 years and have been carnivore for over 1 year. The health benefits far out way the pleasure of eating the crap we used to eat. I have never felt heathler than I do now. Now longer diabetic, no kidney diease, etc, also lost 90 lbs. With all the health issues I had, this is the only way to eat. This is the Proper Human Diet!
Yes!!!! Me too!! Meat and eggs for FULL health potential!! I can ride my bike and then go play tennis and not even have to eat! Yesterday I did some housework in the morning then took the kayak out for a paddle. Today was another bike ride! Tons of sustainable energy, laser-like focus and mental acuity, and super calm emotions!! Nothing phases me! Love eating this way! Meat and eggs for the win!!
Can't believe Marissa grew up in TN and has never been white water rafting! We drive to TN to go white water rafting. Take the kids to Nantahala River in NC. It's a family friendly river. I grew up rafting the Nantahala every summer. It was the most fun I ever had as a kid. You all will love it. The restaurant across the river has the best chili cheese dogs you will ever have. You'll be ready for them when you get off the river. Love Blue Ridge! My father lives in Blairsville which is not far from Blue Ridge. I love the north Georgia mountains! I hope to retire there one day! I've lived at the beach for 30 years so looking forward to life in the mountains! Great video!
My wife and five year old daughter rafted the Snake River out of Jackson Hole Wyoming almost thirty years ago and had the time of our lives, including doing a class five rapid.
The fall drawdown on the Gauley is a blast. We've rafted the Colorado through the Grand Canyon. Most outfitters use larger rafts and you typically do not paddle through the rapids. Instead the guide/pilot uses oars and you're just along for the ride.
What a beautiful setting and so much fun watching you all have such a good time! I’m almost 70 and I’ve been carnivore for a year now. I feel amazing and no more joint pain. It works for me. Love you all.❤️☺️🇨🇦
I LOVE white water rafting. The Colorado River through the Grand Canyon is definitely on my list! The next time you're in the Smokies, try rafting in Hartford on the Pigeon River. It's about a half hour from Gatlinburg. There's an upper Pigeon trip with more rapids for adults and older kids and a lower Pigeon trip that's a little calmer that younger kids can enjoy.
I can so relate to the “being scared “ when our raft guid- oars men told us if the raft flips over try to cling to the bottom of it and act like a spider to get up for air🤦♀. It was a great experience though. Snake river wyoming.
I grew up in Polk county Tennessee. Where the ocoee River is that you just rafted down in this video. I actually work for a photography company that used to take pictures of the rafters as they went down as the summertime job while in high school. I also wrapped it many times. I did get stuck in grumpy's. Which is the first rapid on the river where you got on at Snow White. I thought I was going to drown because I was stuck in it for quite some time held underwater. It wasn't scary incident. But I did go down to the river again. I am not afraid of it. North Georgia and Polk county Tennessee and North Carolina area there are really nice areas. With lots of hiking trails etc. My cousin and my uncle both were river guides. And they used to go down the nantahala River as well. But I've never gotten to do any of them other than the ocoee. I heard the Colorado River is good too from my uncle. I'm glad you enjoyed your time in my old home city. I technically grew up in the city of Old fort which is right next to the ocoee area.
You should contact Cantrell Ultimate Rafting in WVa. You can raft the New River. The second oldest river on the planet. Its also one of only a few rivers that flows north, and It passes through the newest National Park. New River Gorge.
i live about 5 miles from where you are. My grocery is in McCaysville... Wish I knew you were here. Love rafting and have run the New and Gauley Rivers too.. many times. Glad to have you!
Seriously, you only had to go to Ocoee to go white water rafting, or kayaking, and up to Chilhowee campground to camp or a cabin rental. Ocoee is a highly classified white water river, and is where the Olympic whitewater paddling event was held when the Olympics were held in Atlanta! Gotta see it!
We had a cabin in Blue Ridge, GA and would go up to the Ocoee rafting center and watch the water come up after they release it from the dam and in the after noon it dries up. It's something to see. We also did a one day raft on the Grand Canyon and we just sat but it was beautiful. I think the multi day one has where you have the rapids
Montana has several top-notch rivers to go white water rafting or we have some slow-moving rivers for a kid friendly lazy day float, come see us! Seriously we are not always covered in smoke lol
In California, OARS does raft trips on the 3 forks of the American River that are awesome! Definitely try the fork that has the Tunnel Chute included in it. Enjoy!
Happy Mother's Day, Marissa, I once went on a rafting trip up in the Jackson Hole area, and that is my recommendation to add this to your places to go rafting list. Looks like you all had a great time.
Well if you want to whitewater raft, you have to go to the whitewater rafting capital of the USA and that is the Salmon River. Specifically from the Franck Church River of No Return-Riggins to Lucille in Idaho. We rafted/guided that for 10 years.
Back a long long time ago a high school classmate owned a 2-day rafting adventure on Cache Creek, Rumsey California. There were water canon fights, Class 4 Rapids pictures and a Chef Ricky steak BBQ with baked beans, corn and slide show of how the Class 4s were negotiated. Not sure the company is still in business b/c of divorce.
Tuolomne River in Central California, and I highly recommend Zephyr River rafting. Greatest of all the rafting I have done especially at the right and fastest part of the season
The Chattooga River on the GA/ SC Border! It’s where the movie Deliverance was filmed. You gotta watch it before you go. Great camping at Oconee State Park in SC. IIf you hear banjo music you’d better paddle faster!!!
Recommendation: Rafting on the Snake River in Grand Teton! But it’s NOT rapids, it’s a float trip 😅 It’s very mild so the kids could go, and the guide does everything. You just sit back and enjoy the wildlife, including bald eagles 🦅 We loved it so much we’re going to do it again this year! (I have a short vid on my channel under “U.S. National Parks”)
I have rafted the Fraser River in BC, the Main and Middle Fork in Idaho and the Colorado through the Grand Canyon. The Colorado you can either raft the top half and hike out, hike in and raft the bottom half or raft the entire river (which I did for 16 days). I recommend these companies- ARTA and Canyon Explorations.
My son and DIL went to Clemson and got masters in Outdoor Recreation. One summer they were raft guides on the Ocoee and we went to visit and they took us on a trip - I think our entry point was the same as yours. Quite a ride.
Just bought a cabin in Mineral Bluff just last fall. Can’t wait to do this! Just have to wait for my failed knee replacement surgeries to finish and heal.
Thank you for taking me on your journey with you to Blue Ridge Mountains. It was fun watching you all water rafting and swinging on tires. Nice you went there rving friends. Nice Airbnb. Glad you had fun. Great video. Marissa I hope that you had a great Mother’s Day.🌸🌷🌺 Have a great week. And see you soon!
North Georgia is one of our favorite places too. It’s always relaxing - no matter what time of year you go. We specially like north east Georgia near the Appalachians. I have only gone white water rafting twice- on the New River in West Virginia and at Letchworth State Park in NY. But both were fun! I’m on a “if God made, it I’ll eat it” kind of diet. I guess that might be considered Paleo….. 😂
The Ocoee is a great river to raft. I have kayaked down it multiple times. There's great rafting all over the Southeast and in the fall you can't beat the New and Gauley Rivers in West Virginia. If you ever want to go down the Nantahala in your own duckie let me know. I would guide you down. It is much more mellow than the Ocoee and it would allow you to have a different type of whitewater experience. It is just outside of Bryson City, NC. I have been a whitewater kayaker for many years so feel free to hit me up if you need more suggestions. Great video by the way!
My husband (65 yrs old) and I (62 yrs old) have white water rafted many rivers across the US. We love it although since getting a little older I'm most comfortable with class 2's & 3's. My favorite river was The New River Gorge in West Virginia. For a true challenge try kayaking white water. We did the Green River in North Carolina last year and it was an experience. I did not stay in the kayak, a first for me but I can say I did it. The next day we went right back out and white water rafted another section of the river which I absolutely loved. In a few weeks we'll white water the Rio Grand. May I suggest Zip Lining. We've done that across the US too. So fun! Love your family ❤. Stay safe throughout your travels!
We went white water rafting under the Royal Gorge in Colorado it was very intimidating. We had the best time ever. . We actually did a video about it. The Grand Canyon is on my (Kelley) bucket list they have like 3 and 4 day on the river. Let's book it 😁😁
I was just thinking, kids are big enough to do the New River in the summer. They also offer kayaks on the New River...we did that with the kids once when they were a little older Gauley would definitely be for the adults...at least in the fall.
I'm a north Georgia girl, so I've been rafting all over Georgia. But my #1 favorite, so far, is the Urubamba River in Peru. For Vinnie it would be a "camping under the stars & rafting" thru the Grand Canyon. Both spiritual experiences ~ Fun video guys !
I'm with you.... finger sandwiches and a glass of wine on a lazy float down the river. If you want a wild ride... try the Cache la Poudre River in Colorado
I'm a child of the West. I've not really been back in those Eastern parts of the country and I'm just struck by how beautiful the rolling landscapes there in the South. But I have been white water rafting as a teenager on the snake river.and it's definitely an intense thrill seeking type of thing to do.
Rafting recommendation: I did the Ocoee at MIDNIGHT. Scariest yet most exciting thing I’ve ever done. Literally couldn’t see the hand. Entire river by sound. Crazy how your other senses skyrocket. You can gauge the rapids by sounds not by sight.
Good video our daughter (46 yo) and her husband (49) just got back a week ago from 21 days down the Colorado River with 14 other people said it was a trip of al iife time and was thrilled
The last time I did the Ocoee was with a Scout group. My son and my self were put in a boat with much older scouts that wanted to do 360's threw all the rapped's. The set where you put your feet was not attached so I fell out and went threw all the rapped's with my head at water level with just me and a PFD it was cold but was a blast !!
I adore how sensitive Hensley is in all of your videos. She is truly the most loving person and I know she is going to grow into such an amazing woman.
She’s a tender hearted girl 🥰
I highly recommend the New River Gorge in WV, flows from the South to the North, warm and the area is beautiful!
Sounds incredible- we will have to look into it!
Such a good video and looks like it was a great trip! Seeing you guys in the raft and walking on ropes without the kids around really shows how much fun you both are, your adventurous spirit!!! ❤
We had an amazing time!

Dr Ken Berry is the man! And of course, he's a true Tennessean.
Can't believe Marissa grew up in TN and has never been white water rafting! We drive to TN to go white water rafting. Take the kids to Nantahala River in NC. It's a family friendly river. My wife and five year old daughter rafted the Snake River out of Jackson Hole Wyoming almost thirty years ago and had the time of our lives, including doing a class five rapid.
That’s fun!
You have to do the New River in WV!
That’s what I keep hearing 😅
That was my first white water trip! Goldie was our guide. 🤩
The fall drawdown on the Gauley is a blast. We've rafted the Colorado through the Grand Canyon. Most outfitters use larger rafts and you typically do not paddle through the rapids. Instead the guide/pilot uses oars and you're just along for the ride.
Gauley is a blast in the fall...have done it 3 times
That’s what everyone keeps telling us!
What a beautiful setting and so much fun watching you all have such a good time! I’m almost 70 and I’ve been carnivore for a year now. I feel amazing and no more joint pain. It works for me. Love you all.❤️☺️🇨🇦

That’s so fun to watch. I laughed the whole time 😂😂
So glad you enjoyed it!
We went rafting in the glacier waters of Iceland!! It was my 1st time and now I wanna go try other places, like you

That sounds amazing 🤩
It looked like you had a lot of fun with four RV couples together. A scorpion! Thank you for the video.
So much fun!

So much fun! The rolling hills throughout the Appalachians and the Blue Ridge mountains are stunning.
Rafting recommendation:
I did the Ocoee at MIDNIGHT. Scariest yet most exciting thing I’ve ever done. Literally couldn’t see the hand. Entire river by sound. Crazy how your other senses skyrocket. You can gauge the rapids by sounds not by sight.
That sounds crazy!
Maybe because they are my local white water spots but i love hoback jackson hole wy or the salmon river in idaho.
