This kit wasn't built for an LED... It was built for a "grain of wheat" incandescent bulb. I don't think the bulb was ever included with the kit (The instructions say it's sold separately - "別売り" - and I think the instructions are the same now as they were in '82) I think it wasn't included back then because it's an optional thing, and kind of commonplace in hobby shops (back then at least). Plus those kinds of bulbs can break or blow out pretty easily, so if they included it, it would be one more thing that could go wrong with the kit... At this point, of course, a lot of people would probably prefer to use a LED anyway. As for the height - if you measure it, it's actually the proper height (17.5m / 60) - but the PG version is taller because ... They decided to make it taller. :) Regarding the heat hawk feeling loose in the left hand - you left out a part when assembling the hand. There's a polycap (C) that's supposed to go in there - it grips the heat hawk very effectively with that polycap in place. (Read the instructions, man!)
Aha and since it was a bulb, I assume that those grain of wheats were made out of glass. A very good reason not to include that with the model then. Even if it was protected well enough, I wouldn't want to risk the off chance of having minuscule pieces of glass all over the box. As for the polycap. I figured out my mistake when I made the MP Zaku (someone else also pointed this out) and it's really firm now. I didn't think too much of it at the time because it wasn't the first time that a Zaku model couldn't hold his heat hawk lol.
The newer kits have the movable skirts but those are not anime accurate to the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime. So even though you loose articulation the Zaku itself looks more anime accurate.
I don't think I'd buy this, but wow, it's actually pretty cute, and neat for the price. It is pretty accurate to how the Zaku looked in parts of the anime. They didn't really have consistent looks yet.
love this kit...just for the size i think its worth it. the retroness does make it feel toylike, and fitting with the size of the kit. hope I can get the Johnny Ridden custom, and I imagine the colors to be fairly nice as well on that kit, since the spots with different colors are similar to the char zaku, unlike the tri-star zaku color scheme.
me: mom can we get a perfect grade 1/60 zaku?
mom: we have a 1/60 zaku at home
the 1/60 zaku at home:
IKR! This one is just as good! You have good tastes in model kits!😀
@@sjjssjsu7428 you know he's joking, right?
It’s perfect for itself 🔥🔥
Literally the best anime accurate Zaku to date so I don’t know what you’re talking about. I think it’s one of the best kits for anime accuracy
@@Hit_man_mashiba alright alright. I guess char would know what hes talking about!

Bro, why you need to be so mean he’s didn’t see it bro like to

The old kits looks as bulky and heavy as the anime.
At the time this must have been intended as a really deluxe kit.
The old kits were like top technology at the time, people rushed into department store for the sale, some kids even died from stampede.

Love it, I been wanting to build some of the older kits so this is perfect, ill have to look for one.

I do kind of want an 80s kit...but they're not always easy to find.
If someone knew where I could find a Hamma Hamma, they would be my hero.
You still looking bro? I think i might have found a 1/144 or 1/100. Let me check again.
Kakarot197 , how do you put in the decals that come with this kit?
A Gundam kit that doesn't require painting was very deluxe and unusual in 1982. This must have been one of the very first kits to have polycaps.
True, though if I was going to do that, I would probably go for something more recent.
Maybe u could get a bit of blue tag to hold the heat hawk into place
I just got this kit. Looks like you forgot to install the C polycaps in the fists. Hopefully this’ll give my Zaku a better grip on the heat hawk
Hey, Kakarot! Can you tell me what brand/type of glue you use for these retro kits?
Tamiya cement(for when the parts don't go together 100%) and Tamiya extra thin cement(when there's a clean fit)
Kakarot197 Thanks for such a quick reply!
Elijah Gillespie lmao. I love how you are showing the zock some love with that avi
2:09 amuro i going to t pose to assert dominance
Will you ever build the 1/60 Gundam from 1982
Put a bit of sticky tack around the handle of the heat hawk.
I would love to build and 80s Gunpla Kit but it requires paint, glue and a lot of time
Столкнулся с такой-же проблемой с отсутствием диода и проводов в 1/72 Mechanics Model Zaku ll.
those dopey face is somehow always so charming
哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈😂
