Even after 50% it was still faster. It charged 13 Pro Max in 86 minutes. Quicker than last year which had a 700mah smaller battery. 12 Pro Max takes 2 hours.
Using a 5w isn’t going to degrade your phone less than a 20w, because the power brick prevents this from happening. You even said it yourself, the phone only takes what it needs besides the 13 isn’t designed for the 5w charger. It was designed for older phone who’s battery could damage from overcharge hence only 5w.
What do you recommend for 13 pro and pro max then? What brick wattage for each? I have an iPhone 11 currently and only use the cord plugged straight into my wall usb socket so not sure how it runs. And now I’m trying my old 5w brick to see how that is. Compared to charging from wall socket which I wonder how fast that is
Charging your phone with any fast charger is DEFINITIVELY gonna degrade your battery faster then a 5W. Lithium battery’s don’t like being pumped with that much power so fast, and the extra heat made from fast charging is also horrible for battery’s
Yeah you can. Your iphone will only use what it needs. You’re better off getting the 40 watt charger cause in the future if a new iphone supports 40 watt charging you can use that same 40 watt charger instead of buying a new one.
I actually avoid the MagSafe charger BECAUSE of the heat, it not just about power, wireless charging is extremely inefficient and generates a TON of heat.
It makes perfect sense, apple chucks a bigger battery in the new iphones and want to maintain the ability to charge from 0-50% in half an hour. The only way this will be achieved is with peak charging speeds of 27w.
Only the 13 Pro Max charges at 27watts when it’s below 50% battery. It also needs 30 watt plug at 9V and 3 amps. It charges faster than 12 Pro Max. 13 Max fully charged in 1 hour 26minutes 12 Max takes nearly 2 hours.
That MagSafe measurement also probably isn't very accurate. The MagSafe draws 9W from the power supply, but not all 9W probably reach the phone due to all the losses associated with wireless charging. I also wonder what the maximum wattage is for wireless charging on iPhone models. I think I read that for iPhone SE 2020 it is around 7W max that it can accept wirelessly.
The phones charge faster with more current when they are laying on a table. I tried the same and noticed when I hold the phones the current is limited. They limit the current for temperature. The table acts like a heat sink and pulls heat away.
I have that same watt meter. If you have a low battery percentage on the 13 Pro Max, I’ve seen 27 watts with my Ravpower 90 watt charger and about 20 watts with the MagSafe plugged into that same charger.

You could do overnight every night and Apple’s battery management will learn to wait until you start your day to resume to full charge. Never leave your battery over 90% for longs periods of time. I recommend Anker’s 20w or 30w charger (the 13 pro can receive a little more than 20w which allows fast charging without slowing down charge times from using the device at the same time). They are imo the best for what you pay.
Note that the power the phone draws depends on its current charge! Your iPhone 13 Pro was almost empty while the iPhone 13 Pro Max was at 65%. So the 13 Pro will probably start drawing max power while 13 Pro Max should draw less. I'm kinda surprised that it drew the same 19W as the empty phone since current draw and voltage drops after 50% full. The charging curve is well known for iPhones, the fuller they are, the less power (current) they draw.
I think the charge is LIMITED to 20 watts while charging normally with phone off. However, when you are using the phone while charging it can add to the 27 watts of power to charge faster while using it. It’s the same thing that happens with my iPad Pro. When I’m just charging it with any third party 30 watt or more charger, it charges at like 18 watts but if I use it like gaming while charging I can pull all 30 watts. It’s apples way to preserve battery health. When i tried it on an android phone it pushed all the power through without looking at the scene.

Thank you for this video :)
It work like a real battery that's just how battery work when you drop below 50% just just take longer to charge.
Just the video I needed ! I think I will use the MagSafe in order to be able to use the lightning cable for the audio only
Boi if you don’t get some wireless earbuds or air pods.
@@ChillydontCap lol exactly
Latency sucks even on the best Bluetooth pair
I use AirPods for playing games and latency is fine
@@HardBassFeZ AirPods Pro here, no noticeable latency from audio to video. My dad’s Bluetooth earbuds in comparison are horrible with latency
Can I use my macbook pro 61w charger to charge my iphone 13 without it affecting the battery life ?
Yea cause it limits the charging to 20w or whatever it can take
So which one is better for an iPhone 13 Pro?
charge at mall & at your workplace you wont deal with big electric bills
I want to know too did u find out
So if i were to buy replacement charger (not original, maybe something like anker) for my laptop, what wattage should i be looking At?
Find out how much wattage your laptop can take. All laptops take different amounts
??
Good point!! Thanks for the input.
Wallpaper?
jesus christ man the constant rack focus makes this video hard to watch my guy.
can i charge my iphone 14 pro max with macbook 96 watt adapter ??

Hi guys give me some advice i just bought iphone 11 yesterday and i use 20w, i charge my phone when it drops to 20% and i plug it out to 80%😊
Is 20w safe for iphone 11?
If u have iphone 11 you don't need to worry about, just use it freely
All phones should be less than 50% for max charging power
Which one to use for iPhone 13 pro
