This is probably the first blower review that doesn't show any blowing! Ha! Well the specs are virtually the same on these two blowers, and I wanted to "feel" each of them out. I took a good look at the Makita and DeWalt blowers and after some thought, I decided to keep the Makita. I hope my unboxing and review helps you in your quest to find a good blower.

I've been researching battery powered leaf blowers that would have enough power to move leaves, yet be lightweight & easy for a 75-year-old woman to use. I had narrowed it down to these 2, and your video helped me decide to go with the Makita (even though it doesn't have the greatest run time), Thanks so much!

I’m so glad to hear this. Thanks for taking time to let me know. I hope you enjoy your blower! I still have mine and use it all the time.

I agree with you on having some tool diversity: it's probably easier (or sometimes cheaper) to stick with one platform, but the flexibility of having batteries on 3-4 platforms allows me to get the best tool for my workflow without being stuck with one brand.

Thanks for the comment, Chris! That’s exactly how I feel and am glad I’m able to have the flexibility. What brands to you utilize?

@@diywithandrew I primarily use Dewalt and Milwaukee (on both companies' 18 volt and 12 volt platforms), but my track saw, impact driver, and leaf blower are Makita tools. In fact, I have the one from this video and I absolutely love it! I also have some stuff from Ryobi like their rotary tool, a small fan for the shop, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and a handheld scrubber. People badmouth Ryobi, but for more niche stuff that I don't use frequently, it makes more sense to go with their brand: it all works just fine, and I can get it at a fraction of the cost that I'd pay for the other companies' gear.

Thanks to your video, I bought the Makita 2x5Ah batteries/free blower deal today for $199 from Home Depot. I had placed an order with a major online retailer for the same 18V blower but a used tool and 2 x 5Ah generic batteries that would have been $15 dollars less than what I paid Home Depot for brand new brand name-and got my 10% military discount too. As soon as I saw your video, I cancelled my online order. Thank you so much!

I just got the Dewalt same as your. I am thinking about return it. I intended to use it as a leaf blower but it seam like it’s too weak. It’s perfect for saw dust blower other than that it’s useless.

I have a mix of Makita and DeWalt , several batteries for each , should the need arise though adapters can be bought to make one brand battery to fit the other brand tool .

Good idea. I think having variety and options is a good thing.

Dude you're so right on the sound, I can hear the high pitch of DeWalt thru the video and it drives me nuts
    Thanks for honest review!

Maybe consider a better microphone. Your voice is hard for me to hear and understand, even when I turn the volume up.
