Duran put his arms up when Sugar tapped him! He still got it! That was funny as hell. This era of boxing is gone 4ever. Thank u for posting this nice clip of 2 great athletes!
this is what i'm talking about. two real down to earth champs.
these guys used to be great rivals, good to see that they are friends now...
+BOKA THE SMOKA Its a job so is not like really they will hate each other their whole life another sample Marco Antonio Barrera and El terrible Morales.
Morales and barrera truly hated each other back in the day, and so did duran and leonard.
BOKA THE SMOKA i know but not anymore.
Lol that is what my comment is but you are trying to argue my point if you agree with me why would you comment.
BOKA THE SMOKA You are the one arguing not me just Im telling you the point they were but now they are friends, you are kind of slow..either way I see you.
Roberto Duran was the best prime time a legend LOL.
There will not be two great ones like these two.
Roberto in his prime Was unstoppable, an animal that struck fear in the hearts of other fighters. Outside the ring He Was a humble and good man I Witnessed it first hand. I remember going to the Main Street Gym in Los Angeles back in the early 80's and watching him tune up for a world title. I Was in a crowd of on lookers, as he Makes His Way into the ring, I step in front of him and give him a manly pat on his chest, for a quick second I thought I Was going to be carried out or at least get One of Those menacing "Charlie Manson" Type killer stares, but no, he just glanced at me and in a humble Manner he nodded his head and gave me a smile!
FA Barragan Not unstoppable, but yeah he was good.
turtles Not Unstoppable...? Between 1972 and 1978 he destroyed anybody that dared get into the ring with him. Duran established legendary status in the 70's. And as far as your statement "Good Fighter" shows you know nothing about Roberto or the fight game, one does not call a man of this caliber "a good fighter!"
He was pound for pound one of the greatest fighters that has ever lived.
Viva "Manos de Piedra!"
FA Barragan I mean I'm not trying to be rude or anything, just saying.
turtles But he was unstoppable in his prime 74-79. He literally was unbeatable then lol.
Be Real-777 Way past his prime. He turned pro in '67 at 118, 17 years later he get's Ko'd legitimately for the first time at 154 that's amazing in it's self.
One of the greatest rivalries ever!
These two legends epitomized a glorious and exciting era. Those who think that boxing began and ended with boring Mayweather fights don't know how great this sport once was. It's good to see the mutual respect and warmth from these two warriors.
Duran still has that street in him. The way he got grabbed by Leonard, his muscle memory kicked in.
Good old Duran he was a true beast....
You will not beat boxing of the 1970/80s forget the UFC , these were the entertainers and true tough guys, watching Duran v Sugar Ray was amazing the skill and heart these guys had, incomparable......
I really love those 2 guys! I grew up watching those legends even though I'm just 16 years old.
Nice to see both GOATS respecting each other being friendly. 30 years ago,Duran wouldn't even stand next to Sugar. Good health to both!
Still, Roberto Duran is my favorite fighter of a time. I remember watching him fight as a kid in 70s. I remember when he was training in Philly to fight Lou Bizzaro he had broke a sparring partners nose. My favorite bout of Roberto's was when be knocked out Ray Lampkin in the fourteenth round.
I never get enough of seeing these two legends together God bless them.
The way it is supposed to be rivals in the ring and shake hands and have a beer at the end of the day. Couple boxing legends there!
I’m happy to see these guys are friends now. I still know that Duran was the greatest fighter I’ve ever seen. Ray was definitely one of the all time greats as well
we will never have champs like them.
God bless them -
it is so so so nice see them like that friendly.
I love Leonard, but I prefer Roberto
legends...being regular folk respecting and loving each other...they gave it their all in the ring for themselves, each other and the fans!
I saw Leonard in person pulling into a gated community about a month ago in a Black BMW, he was really friendly and waved as he drove in!
+FA Barragan dude is all class
+John Keys what does having class mean serious question
Jose Cedillo Not being a dick/.
To me boxing is the most human of sport. People may call it barbaric and brutal but I don't see another sport where years after retirement men treat each other with the dignity and respect they deserve. I remembered the bitter rivalry between Hearns, Leonard, Duran and Hagler and so to see the respect these men have towards each other today is amazing. The same with the British trio of Chris Eubanks, Nigel Benn and Michael Watson. They pounded the hell out of each other but today they act as if they were brothers. I don't see that in football, cricket, tennis or any other sport.
i agree, the hate between eubank and benn was real. no promotion bull, so to see them get along the way they do these days its amazing and supports your theory 110%, we dont see this in any other sport, only in boxing.
Got to love those memories of beating each other to death. Them good ol' days.
I think it is pretty amazing to watch these two guys who were bitter rivals and had 3 bouts against each other interact now. It just shows how they are both real men and true warriors that respect each other as warriors. Good stuff.
Duran and Ray Leonard! Love these two badasses ! Two living legends of boxing!
Its always great to see two legends having a good time with each other after knocking each other out
Jesus Torres Duran never knocked sugar ray out
+jesus Torres Sugar Ray never knocked out Duran either
so basically, your comment is bullshit
2 legends
What a pair of fighters, the first fight is the most intense 15 rounder I ever saw. Man its a shame we have to grow old, but hey its still better than the alternative.
what alternative?
+Enzo Maidana Death.
+Ghenghis khan LOL made me laugh for real lmaooo
Oh yeah, great alternative, slowly die.
Absolutely you are right that was the most intense 15 round fight I ever saw. The first Ali vs Frazier fight in 1971 was probably the most intense Heavyweight fight I ever saw.
Two of the greatest. Once enemies, now friends. I love the sweet science.
Wow awesome!!! Both rivalry in there era now they are friends, living pound for pound legends... More power and more lives both of you ....
roberto mean man out of it boxer tough as guy true fighter good to see him being recognised for his contribution to the sport
Nice to see them doing well with each other
If you pause at 0:32 you can see both of them back up as if they're really going to fight xD
Both legends.
Instincts kicking in. Automatic
fucking legends!
Love the Fabulous 4. Love Duran , and Leonard
Great Boxer and a hero of mine .
Man i love this
these two fighters are great. eras change not a. floyd fan but he is great respect to all who get in the ring it aint ez
What happens at the 00:31 mark is priceless! These two guys are the greatest!
2 humble champions!!
Roberto seems to have mellowed out lol
From an era when great boxers were also great fighters. They left it all in the ring not just for the fans but for themselves and each other.
Ray touches Durans shoulder. Duran squeals "No Mas"
I watched these two fight live in 1980!
Duran was a lethal fighter
Manos de Piedra is my favorite fighter of all times
Duran STILL put his fists up right before realizing. Probably thought it was a crazy "Fan." These old guys can still beat ANY street tough EASILY, & always will!
Duran will definitely knock me out in his age now
Leonard seems to always be in tip top shape.
duran a true warrior good person outside the ring but a real destroyer in it
Roberto Duran had a flashback from 1981 on Sugar Ray Lenard surprising him.
That's what is all about. Rivals on the ring and friends out of it. Is just a sport we are the winners that saw or live through this ear two leyends period.
The cream of the crop. We will never see cchamps like these again.!!!
I like how no one noticed Evander at the end lmaooo
duran having flashbacks of Leonard vs Duran II lol
Thought he was going to get another bolo punch.
CLASSIC
Cool guys !
We were about to see duran vs leanard III on the red carpet.
No abra otro mejor q Duran
Man, you really do forget petty anger as you grow older. These two seemed like they wanted to kill each other back in the day, now they're hugging and laughing without a care in the world.
Great to see
When Joe Frazier was being asked about Roberto Duran and the interviewer said "does he remind you of anybody (wink wink)?"
Frazier replied "Charles Manson?"
Boxing died with the 70's and 80's.
yeah
it got revived in 2002 for one day when gatti met ward.
pahdy93 amen i loved those 3 fights
Mike Corey Loma is bringing it back.
And GGG.
Boxing Gods
That was great haha
Fuck...Duran is old like my grandpa and still have the same istinct XD
2 fuckn champions!👍
Love it.This is how men created in the image and likeness of God should treat one another and demonstrate to the world!!!
Viva Panama
I DEMAND Duran/Leonard IV. Make it happen!
Why not have an Ali - Foreman 2 while you're at it.
+Anees Niazi why not Hopkins vs Jones jr 😂
What is the name of this gorgeous and attractive young lady at the 2:00 minutes? Thanks for your kindness.
El latino más grande del box junto a Julio césar chavez
Master Thespian ! 0:31
DURAN DURAN DURAN !!!!!!!!!
BILL GATES (duran) MEETS STEVE JOBS (sugar) ........
wow 117 k veiws not even 400 likes wtf no respect
I think Roberto Duran got literally scared.... I mean.....how tf do you look like you did when you were 30? Probably brought back ring flashbacks. Almost punched his ass haha.
Duran Leonard 2 pissed me off l. It wasn't the same Duran we saw in the first. Than just to give up. It was a shame really.
past is past just get over it dude
I feel bad for Manny because there are 2 major promoting bodies on this era, Top Rank and Golden Boy, and Manny fought all the fighters that Top Rank has to offer. If Manny fights for money and cherrypicks his opponent then he won't be fighting Algieri this november if thats the case because first of all Algieri won't bring huge amount of money on the table and second Algieri doesn't have the credit to be in the ring with Manny, but then again who is still there on Top Rank for Manny to fight? Manny literally retired most of the very good fighters like Morales,Barrera,Margarito,Dela Hoya,Hatton, and soon-to-be-retiring Mosley and Clottey, Cotto and Bradley would proably have few more years. Even though Manny still wins against Marquez on a 2-1-1 score Marquez still knocked him on the 4th fight so basically a Pacquiao vs Marquez 5 would make more sense rather than a Pacquiao vs Alvarado, because as what I've said who is still there for Manny? Manny literally retired most of them.
I understand Porter signing on Golden Boy rather than Top Rank because Porter was a former sparring parter of Pacquiao and other than Pacquiao dropping Porter twice on the canvas Porter also knows that Manny won't duck him if the time comes that they have to fight and he also knows how very great skills Manny have because they been a sparring Partner for almost 2 years. What confuses me is Why Thurman,Danny Garcia,Brook(?),etc signed with Golden Boy/Al Haymon even though they know that the top fighter on that Promoting Coimpany, Floyd Mayweather, is known for ducking his opponents? So you mean to say that Thurman,Danny, etc signed with GBP because they know they can make noise there knowing Floyd won't fight them? If only Thurman,Danny, and Brook(?) signed with Top Rank then the Manny vs Thurman/Danny/Brook would most probably have already happened, but why can't the Floyd vs Thurman/Danny/Brook happen if Floyd,Thurman,Danny, and Brook are from the same promoting company? And also keep in mind that Thurman is a mandatory for Floyd still why can't the fight happen? Ask yourself,,,
first of i didnt read all this shit ,second why the fuck are you writing something so irrelevant on this video...something must be hurting you inside to be this passionate about manny in a video having nothing to do with manny
Duran and Sugar Ray Leonard just like Pacquiao and Mayweather, maybe or maybe not?
Sugar Ray Leonard beautiful boxer!! Duran greastest lightweight ever hands down...
👏👏👏👍🌹❤
Hahahahaaaa funny shit
Damn that his wife? she still looking fine AF
The hands of stone beat Iran Barkley
They fought so brutally in 1980s
he almost hit sugar ray with his jav....
ROBERTO DURAN AND SUGAR RAY ERA WAS A MFR.PLEASE DONT DISRESPECT THEM REAL PROS COMPARING FLOYD,FLOYD SR WAS BETTER THEN FLOYD JR.LOOK WHAT SUGAR RAY DID TO FLOYD SR.
Sugar Ray was a pretty boy.
Leonard por mucho mejor que Roberto duran, si duran no abandona cobardemente la pelea, leonard le hubiera arrancado la cabeza.
Leonard no tenía para noquear a Durán.
You see what happened when you don't speak Spanish too...lol
I heard Duran's dad is Mexican.
thats ptsd
Queria aventar un jav
Leonard would never fight him a 3rd time. Duran, "no mas", had diarrhea and was dehydrated. Leonard is great but never a 3rd time.
That's right.
They did have a 3rd fight.
LeNard Higgins who won?
Leonard
duran must still have dreams of getting whooped by sugar ray
+Casey Nichols it's sugar ray who can not get closure for exploiting his money advantage to make a boxing legend accept a fight for money instead of glory, he knew he could not beat him, and settled for a parody and razzmatazz with ray charles singing the national anthem, then dancing like a circus clown. Duran is a proud boxer and made his cash that day, didn't want to have anything to do with a man disgracing boxing with clowning. If he had fought a duran in shape a second time, Duran would have knocked him down. Instead of being a man he lowered himself for apparences to chose a different game : running, clowning and frustrating the opponent (gayweather before the date) . Disgraceful for boxing.
quenquen411 Yes, he was barely behind when Leonard decided to start acting like an absolute moron and he quit.
quenquen411 He's actually a bit more famous for being in the top 10 p4p boxers of every boxing expert in the world's top 10, usually being in the top 5.
quenquen411 No, he's the guy that came up 2 weight classes at 30 years old and beat the shit out of Leonard and fought 70+ lightweight fights without a loss. He's the reason Leonard isn't shit, because that fool got beat by a lightweight coming up 2 classes to his natural weight and destroying him, he ruined Leonard while Duran fought on for years and expanded his career.
quenquen411 Nobody gave a shit a 30 year old guy with more than 70 fights got beat, all anyone cared about is a young Leonard got beat by a 30 year old coming up 2 weight classes. That is more humiliating than anything that can happen in boxing and why nobody ranks Leonard above Duran.
Doesn't get any bigger
2nd
No mas
+mro aho " I don't want to fight this clown no more". His words.
