@@Blue-moon12 That's true, but it has been 10 years and four months. If something major were to happen today, I wouldn't regret buying it. But as far as the problems shown (coolant leak, oil leak, sagging door, broken grill, etc.) nothing at all has happened. My wife and I have had three other GM products, a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE and two Saturns (a 93 or 94 SW2 and a 2002 SC2). I think if you take care of the vehicles, they're worth the money. If you drive like a race car driver and don't regularly change the oil, then that's something else. The Pontiac was supposed to be a piece of junk. The only problem I had was at the end when there was a problem with the key, which I could have had fixed. I had that car for 12 years.

I love your videos man! All of them. Great channel. Had a brand new V6 AWD Charger for a 2 week road trip NY to Alabama. Flawless ride. I loved that car and have always loved how they look. I want one. Went and test drove a used one with V8 just to get a feel for it. Last V8’s I’m thinking but that does concern me. Been waiting for this video though. Figuring I’ll trade in my VW GTI 6 speed manual. Wife says to me kinda yelling 🤣🤣😂 “Why would you trade your quality vehicle for a piece of junk!” I explained the V8 ending and America and muscle cars etc. I can’t afford Hellcat or Demon. I need daily driver too that’s gonna run in the snow and 250-300K or at least 10 years. I guess the Charger ain’t it. 🤣🤣🤣 It’s just that sometimes you need power to gap fools on the road of which there are many nowadays. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the advice and great videos. Merry Christmas! 🤙🏾👊🏽😎
Thanks very much and great choice on cars. We have always owned Golfs as well over the years and love the way they drive, practical as well. The Charger's are the ones I actually looked at a couple of years ago too as I prefer that body over the Challenger and the V8 is a great punchy unit. The Demon is mesmerizing, but a big price to pay for power that will only be used fro time to time. With that said, I also was a little less than dazzled over the interior material quality as well as fit and finish, and I would say the VW has a more stapled together feel than the Dodge for sure. The Dodge is the way, if you want big V8 sound and punch but there is a tradeoff indeed and as long as a person is good with that, either will work. Hope you also have a very Merry Christmas. See you on the other side of 2023. Cheers.
If you can afford the maintenance on a V8 Charger go to the Jaaaaggggg XFR. You can still convince yourself it's worth it while you get the run of nickel and dime repairs done that way. That's my dream for my first, and probably last, sporty V8 anyway.
Bologna. I have a 14' R/T and it's been great. Nearly 200,000 miles on it, runs like a top. Bought it when it was 3 years old with 50,000 miles. Regular oil changes, tranny fluid changes, and coolant changes, and it has not giving me any real problems. And yes, I would love a Scat Pack and would buy one If I could afford it.
A Charger/Challenger will still run like new at 100k with proper care and replacing normal wearable parts on time. I had one with 136k when I traded it. I put every single mile on it and had zero issues.
Mitsubishi has not been any count ever since the whole DSM conglomeration ended. DSM had some quality stuff. The Eclipse the 3000GT the Stealth and Eagle Talon all were bona fide legit good cars butt before and after DSM Mitsubishi always sucked.
Showing a used rent a car beater Chrysler 200 that hasn't been made in like 9 years! FYI the Dodge Charger was a long in the tooth platform that was very reliable because they had worked out any bugs long ago.
love your tongue and cheek lambasting of these crappy cars. the fiat shifter looks like rover got to chewing. 07 camry here 145k. I am missing some fun driving experiences but will stay out of the poor house. life is about trade offs.
The Mitsubishi Mirage really shouldn't be on that list. "Doors that fall off" anecdotes isn't exactly what I would call a technical analysis of the car. I had a 2019 and I can tell you when I hit that deer at 70mph on the Garden State Parkway last year in November the driver airbag deployed as well as the knee airbag. The car fell apart but it's supposed to do that to absorb the energy and I walked away. Is it loaded with cheap plastics from the Mattel toy aisle? Yes. Is it the slowest gasoline powered production car in the market today? Probably. But I have to tell you I had my Mirage for two years, crashed it with 33k miles and the car never had rattles or squeaks. They make these in Thailand and sell the 💩 out of them there and in the Philippines. Fuel economy isn't spectacular for a 3 cylinder, you get 30-40mph depending on the conditions. But I would recommend this car to anyone who doesn't have a lot of money and is looking to get it new with that 10/100k powertrain warranty. You just need to +1 or +2 the tires and that's really it.
just, hudson county here. I always drive to the shore on that road. I concur mitsubushi's are japanese and are reliable. I have not heard bad about them. I went with a camry.
@@subaruamazon I don't think that it's a question of reliability as much as it is build quality and materials quality. Mitsubishi for sure cuts corners and assembles things in a low quality way, however I think they focused more on powertrain reliability and a lot less on fit and finish. That's the path they've decided to go, love it or hate it. If you sit inside and modern Mitsubishi and you start to push in on interior panels as well as exterior panels you'll notice the panels have a lot of give and they squeak, creak or rub against another panel when pushed in, however when you're going down the road the vehicle is otherwise quiet, it's like a David Copperfield trick or something. I just leased a 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV for 2 years and even the Outlander, Mitsubishi's flagship vehicle here in the states, has the same panel issue. Even the seats only have the synthetic leather covering only the parts of the seat that you see and feel, the outboard portion of the front seats are wrapped in synthetic leather but not the inboard portion 😆.

@@subaruamazon I know Hudson County very well... back when Bruce Walter was mayor of Union City, then Menendez became mayor and then I guess Rudy/Brian Stack came behind. I know a lot about the corruption up there 😆. I've been in Middlesex County now for 17 years. I was on my way to see Scotty Kilmer in Rhode Island, he was going to review the Mirage. I hit the deer about an hour into the four hour trip, I was up in the Woodcliff Lake area. I didn't have any time to react, the cruise control was on and all I saw was my windshield shattered and the airbag popped out, I never saw the deer at all, it all happened in one literal second. Up there the GSP has only 2 lanes, I was in the right lane taking my time, I was ahead of schedule to see Scotty, the Mirage scooped up the buck and flung him over the left lane and he landed in the grassy median.
My friend wanted to be cool, so he got a 2016 dodge charger, and it has put him in debt from the high interest, the repairs, gas milage and speeding tickets 🤣, meanwhile i'm in my 2013 Toyota Corolla only doing oil changes with zero mechanical issues.
I believe you about the high interest rates and speeding tickets, but Chargers are known to be very reliable. The engines and transmissions are solid. Driveshaft is the only flaw in these. Thats 1800 with no warranty if your break it. Nothing to cry about really.
He's obviously biased. The Chargers/Challengers are great cars and cheap to maintain. The Hemi (from the entry level 5.7 to the Supercharged Hellcat) and the V6 are extremely reliable and will go at least 200k with proper maintenance. The engines are pretty much bullet proof.

I can remember the CEO saying they are not selling well after being out for a while. Why doesnt the ceo of toyota or honda say the camrys and accords are not selling well? Since the big three got rocked in the eighties and got their clocks cleaned by the japanese, they never learned that people want reliable cars that dont live in the shop. I am amazed with such crappy quality the big three are still around. and the quality seems to be waning.
Well , I have a Chrysler 300 3.6 and he is right unfortunately, as much as I love the car , I had thermostat issues and also false emergency breaking system issues which twice almost made my car crash. Fuel pump issues , Steering wheel problems and so on. So far spent about 1400$ to fix all of those , but unfortunately something new comes up almost every day. Haven’t given up the idea of spending and fixing it so far, but yeah, I think expect that with dodges / Chryslers

Here’s what you do. Own a car long enough that you don’t care about depreciation because you know when you go to sell it it’ll be worth $1000 anyway. I paid $43,000 for a Volvo 12 years ago. It’s worth about three grand. I’ll drive it for another few years.

I call BS on the Charger,or Chrysler LX platform. Transmissions being junk yet it's a ZF 8 speed which is probably the best automatic on the market. Thermostats failing? All cars will eventually need a thermostat. Along with an alternator. If you want to talk about stuff that's actually junk, this list should have any GM vehicle with a stretched timing chain 3.6, anything Korean with a direct injection 4 cylinder,GM trucks with the atrocious 6L80E and displacement on demand motors,Ford Eco boom 4 cylinders. To list a Charger on here is just plain stupid.

I recently traded a 2020 Frontier SV 4x4 with 34k miles for the Mazda which had 22k miles. I know the vehicles are worlds apart, that was the idea. I was a certified Toyota Tech from 1993-2013 when I retired before I turned 40..These 2011-up Charger/Challenger/300 have fewer issues than a lot of Toyota products! Yes I owned Toyota products as I worked for them but being 6'4 the Chrysler L series cars are the most comfortable and even reliable cars I could buy...The seats are even more comfortable than any truck by any manufacturer around! Resale value is high on used L series cars but like anything a bad economy will sink any car..I bought many new Chrysler vehicles as the owner of my dealer I worked for he had a Toyota,Lexus and Chrysler dealer,so he didnt get pissed I didnt only buy a Toyota lol
Give me the worst one new and I bet it runs flawlessly for 7 years and 100K miles for me. 😅 I seem to specialize in making "unreliable" cars reliable. 2012 Buick Enclave with the 3.6: 155K miles, only water pump, alternator, AC compressor replaced. 2011 Jag XJ Supercharged: 107K miles, water pump, engine fan replaced. 2017 Alfa Giulia Ti: 85K miles, AC compressor replaced. Just got 2022 Audi A4 last year: 29K miles under warranty. 😂
Good thing the XJL is no longer in production, and you can buy a late model of one for a significant discount from new. That Chrysler 200 is a nightmare to drive based on my rental experience for sure. I'd stay as far away from anything Stelantis as you possibly can. They are pretty much guaranteed to burn your wallet. Speaking of burn my wallet, the 7 Series looks amazing, but they come with that awesome exploding V8 90%of the time, which makes you have to fight your lizard brain, which wants the styling. I wonder what that electric version of the 7 series would be like to look after, though.

Body panels, electrical issues, transmission issues etc...
What are those manufacturers doing?
Thanks for the informations.
You are very welcome. They see consumers as just that. Consumers. Use for 3 years and these away, is their attitude. I have lost interest in many vehicles that we once felt were solid brands
Stellantis proudly sells garbage. Sometimes pretty garbage, but still garbage. I have a friend who bought a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. Nothing but mechanical problems and excuses from the dealer she bought it from.
Sad state of affairs
I have a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze LT and I have had no problems with it. I am the original owner. Granted, it's only got 46,000 miles on it.
Wow. You hardly drive it!
I have 2001 Chevy Malibu with 185,000 miles. Have had few problems, but I really maintain it
very well..even over maintain it. I do indeed baby it. ❤ Looks new..all original. Hope it keeps on
keeping on. But I will not buy any new GM product made today. 😂 I do all my own work on car.
Consider yourself lucky ! My x gf had one, and like yours it was a good car for her, i use to rip on it and she defended it. Until she hit around 60,000 mi. Then problems problems problems, she drives a Camry now. Lol. 🤷♂️
The depreciation on the XJ and 7 Series is brutal. Money down the drain.
Big-money
Thank you Mark for taking the time to alert us to these shortcomings ✌🏻🎄🇨🇦🎄
🎄Merry Christmas 🎄
You are most welcome and hope you also have a wonderful Christmas
Pro tip: open the door all the way til it stops. Then, apply a bit of pressure outwards and observe the sill where the hinges are bolted in. If you notice the hinges base moves, then the door will sag in the future.
Great tip, thanks
😊
When he went after the Charger, I knew he was full of it
Congratulations, didn't know you alone represent all Charger owners....
@@MusicNotes2024 I speak for people that actually take care of their cars. Got a problem with that?
A Charger/Challenger will still run like new at 100k with proper care and replacing normal wearable parts on time. I had one with 136k when I traded it. I put every single mile on it and had zero issues.
Mitsubishi has not been any count ever since the whole DSM conglomeration ended. DSM had some quality stuff. The Eclipse the 3000GT the Stealth and Eagle Talon all were bona fide legit good cars butt before and after DSM Mitsubishi always sucked.
nice
I would NEVER buy anyone of these cars.
Merry Christmas Mark to you and your family
Thanks very much and we wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas as well. Have a great Holiday season.
@@justacinnamonbun8658 whatever works for you. Mitsubishi's are off the beaten path but I havent heard problems with their reliability. to the contrary. Where on gsp did this happen? I miss the shore. have to wait till next year. I took a trip down to AC in the afternoon and there were so many deer in the southern GSP unbelievable.
Sounds more like your friends stupidity was the problem here 😅
I believe you about the high interest rates and speeding tickets, but Chargers are known to be very reliable. The engines and transmissions are solid. Driveshaft is the only flaw in these. Thats 1800 with no warranty if your break it. Nothing to cry about really.
Actually the Charger isn’t as bad a vehicle as you described..
Thanks and the V8 is the only way to go, but more specifically the hellcat plus
He's obviously biased. The Chargers/Challengers are great cars and cheap to maintain. The Hemi (from the entry level 5.7 to the Supercharged Hellcat) and the V6 are extremely reliable and will go at least 200k with proper maintenance. The engines are pretty much bullet proof.
thank you for the tips!!!!!🙂🙂🙂🙂
HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
i own a 2010 Nissan altima base model.
Purchased it brand new in 2010 and today im at 156,000 miles BUDDY.
No engine or transmission issue at all.
Just your normal maintenance.
I had no issues the first 9yrs.
After that i had to replace the AC on the 10th yr
11yr i DIY right axle and wheel bearing
12yr master Cylinder
13yr DIY SPARK PLUGS
14YR DIY Catalytic and shocks
No major engine or transmission problem BUDDY
The big plus is it has Been paid off for 10yrs, just stacking that car payment back in my pocket of 380 a month
I agree with every vehicle you've got on your list. Remember when the Mini was a cheap run around. Now its got luxury vehicle running costs and poor reliability. I use to own a 1977 Mini 1275 GT.
Haha, thanks very much. Yes great fun in some of these but there is a price to pay. Too much complexity and “efficiency”. Built in which leaves little margin for error and hence easy failure more.
Thanks for your contest my son wants to buy a Fiat abarth and after he so this video changed his mind
He'd better off with a Civic.
Happy Holidays Mark !! Thanks for a great year of outstanding videos …
Thank you very much, and wishing you and yours the best Holiday season. Have a great week.
Sorry buddy, but lots of car guys are really liking the Charger- Challenger Scat Pack 392, Hellcats and Demon 170!😍
So sad to see Lincoln stoop to such an ignominious level: just above Land Rover.
Is it me, or do I smell the musty stench of ROT in the Corporate Offices at FOMOCO? And to be below a CHRYCO? 😢
Hey what about of a list of great reliable cars to own.Tell the years and models.I will save up about $2500 to spend.
What about Mazda? Specifically Mazda 3? They are highly rated on consumer reports in the last 4 years getting number 1 in 2020/2021
Great cars and I have listed them as winners to buy.
@@ECPP what about the new ones with cylinder deactivation? I've seen a few videos here on youtube about oil leaks on the backside of the engine on the newer Mazda Skyactives that have cylinder deactivation...
I never trusted Chevys that are made by Daewoo. The only vehicle from that plant that I think are somewhat worth it is the late model Spark lol. Be wary of the thermostat issue and make sure is the CVT is regularly maintained. Less than $8k for a good example is 👍🏻.
Luv the 5litre Jag!!!
Same
Indeed, one of my worst cars ever was a Dodge Charger....I stick with Lincolns now. They are Town Car reliable. Never any issues beyond regular maintenance
They just keep going and going
Seems like you never owned or worked on one and it shows 😂😂my dodge scat has over 200k miles all highway miles because of work, also stop it I can name 5 issues with Lincoln from the MKZ to the MKX
Nothing ford makes is Anything to Bragg about,,, always been always will be stealership repair shop visits way too frequently,,,,,!
To add to my previous comment,I don’t buy cars for reliability,I buy them bcuz they’re fun and great to drive
Please make a video about Ford Edge
nice
You’re right 10000% chevy cruze is junk last 2 weeks i sold mine, imagine when i bought it had 37k miles only the time i sold it had 54k miles i mean two weeks ago i sold it because it leaked at the bottom side of engine and has a lot of plastics finishes making noise inside.and break easily
Thanks. Yea they feel as cheaply made as the mechanical components beyond the skins
typical gm. I rented these cars and they were great and fun to drive. but the parts are cheap and they fall apart over time.
Sorry people I hate all dodge cars. I am not a big fan of American cars lol
That 7 Series looks like it's already broken it suspension.
That’s what I thought too.
Thanks bro really I’m getting my first car soon I really really wanna Audi A4 2011 do you think that’s a good first car ?
Stay away. Seriously. Especially if it is the 2.0t. If it does happen not to blow the engine then carbon build up will kill it.
All these cars are besides other problems too small to carry your bed bug infested mattress to the dumpster. 😀
The jokes you tell are my favorite! 👍
Thanks very much
I am seeing way fewer MB's, BMW's. Jaguars, Mini's, on the road now. Resale values abysmal!
I would say that resale is very poor indeed
Well you did show a Chevy Cruze that looked like it was in an accident 😅
I drive a CRUZE a CRUZE to the shop 😂
It's now a Chevy SCOOT😂
1:09 door sag? Wow never hard of this as a problem... typical Chevy
Crank

A friend of mine had a 4 cylinder Charger 🤣
Embarrassing.
Can you do the Mercedes GL550??
Endless Money Pits!
right?
whoever told the Brits they engineer and build good vehicles was lying.
they should stick to building jet turbines
Great Content / Thanks
Glad you liked it!
LT is luxury touring
Haha, that’s fair. My sense of humour sometimes gets the best of me
Another on point video. You are exact about the cruz and mini. My mini had an electrical issue that BMW told me would cost about 6 grand just to find the problem and another 14 grand to fix-and that's not the end...they also told me the problem would come back! Run like hell from minis!
Love your video’s Mark, as per usual well researched and spot on ! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family !
Nissan murano had it too very bad car transmission of nissans is junk dont buy nissan if it doesn’t break down down it will tomorrow
I don't like the new Charger but you have your head up your a$$ about the interior. The seats are really comfortable. My Challenger has 116K on it and runs really well and I've done the regular maintenance work myself.
Man maybe Im lucky with my chargers but I've owned all three gens and never had any problems... first gens I made it to 130k miles with a 2009 3.5L one and never changed nothing ever on it until a buck crashed into it. my other 2008 5.7 AWD have 120k and I only changed the waterpump for some reason... second gen 2014 5.7 AWD I made it to 160k miles and only changed the alternator and a tie rod. And my current gen 2019 6.4 I have only 25k miles so thats not enough to judge yet.
Any chance these can last 250-300K miles? I like to drive a car until the wheels fall off. I had my Audi A4 to 300K miles. 15 years.
@@jaimeroman2406 mmmm not too sure... I've seen quite a few at around 250k miles. rarely seen 300k and over on the market place to be honest

Love your content! I am happy with my 2023 Toyota Corolla AWD Hybrid, so far.
Yes that will run a long time.
07 camry 145k miles. how is the quality on new toyotas?
perfect list of junk! great video! I have 2 customers with fiats and they have between 40-50k and i had to do a boatload of work to them. interiors look like garbage too
Thanks very much
you mean those those stupid car commercials lies?? and its all bullshit;just plastic junk? aahhhh!! thank you for the truth for a change!!🙂🙂🙂
Dodge Charger damn I always wanted one. Now I feel disappointed smh
Dodge Chargers were used by many police departments. Because of that, I had the idea that they were reliable.
A lot of cops use Ford Exploders these days.
Owned all gens and they were far from bad. first gens I made it to 130k miles with a 2009 3.5L one and never changed nothing ever on it until a buck crashed into it. my other 2008 5.7 AWD have 120k and I only changed the waterpump for some reason... second gen 2014 5.7 AWD I made it to 160k miles and only changed the alternator and a tie rod. And my current gen 2019 6.4 I have only 25k miles so thats not enough to judge yet
Here’s what you do. Own a car long enough that you don’t care about depreciation because you know when you go to sell it it’ll be worth $1000 anyway. I paid $43,000 for a Volvo 12 years ago. It’s worth about three grand. I’ll drive it for another few years.
Just had my Lexus IS250 tested today everything came out fine for the 100th time..except for dirty engine filter.. that they’re changing for free .I’ll stick with my Lexus DUD.. 😊.!!
They are solid runners all day
The way he caps on cars in the most subtle ways 🎉😂
Cheers
Nice to see the usual culprits for junk. Some things never change 🤣🤣🤣🤣. It baffles my mind that some manufacturers have existed for almost 100 years and still can’t make something that isn’t dog 💩.
In summation, avoid European (German, Italian, British, Swedish) and American cars.
Nice
07 camry 145k. I think there are three good cars - toyota, honda and mazda. did subaru fix their blown head gasket problem? for that alone I would shy away from subaru and my family and a 94 legacy with 204k miles.
Having a Sunroof on a car is like having a 200lb passenger with you all the time.
That’s fair
It’s a 3000lb car a sunroof wouldn’t make a difference in performance in your base 330i.
The more i watch your videos Mark, the more i am glad that my car is Japanese excluding the Mitsubishi and Nissan in your video.😀
Haha indeed. While there are some great drivers cars that lack reliability, a sling as a person is aware of what they are getting into that’s Ok
@@ECPP 👍

Welcome back. Cheers
Also, do not buy the newer, Chrysler Pacifica minivan (gas or hybrid) or the Nissan Qashqai, as well. Thank you very much.
You are right about that.
I enjoy your videos man. Quick and to the point on each unit. What are your thoughts on a 2021 Mazda Mazda6 Signature? I recently traded a 2020 Frontier SV 4x4 with 34k miles for the Mazda which had 22k miles. I know the vehicles are worlds apart, that was the idea. The Mazda wins big time in the comfort and appearance dept. Ive had several Frontiers and a 2016 Altima 3.5 SR which was a fun car but suddenly developed a strange loss of coolant issue. It wasnt leaking, nor was it mixing anywhere. And of course Nissan couldnt find the issue. That car was traded for Frontier #2. Anyway, what are your thoughts on Mazda vs Nissan reliability? Rock On \m/
My parents had two mazdas. a very old 626 and a protoge. they are good cars. I went with a camry but mazdas are good.
Would never go EV, until they ditch the batteries!
Thanks
Charger is a solid reliable car....The Chrysler 300 is Consumer Reports most reliable car and its the exact same as the Charger, just different body style...Those seats are very comfortable!! Better than most cars with hard seats you die after 10 minutes of driving!
Lots of the issues you mention were from the 05-10 the 11-23 are well built solid cars...I put 185,000 miles on mine with zero issues...We owned several others, including a 2018 Hellcat Challenger (still own)but the 185,000 mile car was a 5.7 Hemi zero issues...I have a few family members with the 3.6 and one has 110,000 miles with no issues..

Some of the Jaguars are manufactured in the UK.
I like the idea of this dude walking through used car lots with a camera in hand, making it look so easy.
Thanks. Have a great weekend.

What do you drive?
Good thing the XJL is no longer in production, and you can buy a late model of one for a significant discount from new.
That Chrysler 200 is a nightmare to drive based on my rental experience for sure. I'd stay as far away from anything Stelantis as you possibly can. They are pretty much guaranteed to burn your wallet.
Speaking of burn my wallet, the 7 Series looks amazing, but they come with that awesome exploding V8 90%of the time, which makes you have to fight your lizard brain, which wants the styling.
I wonder what that electric version of the 7 series would be like to look after, though.
That is all bang on the money
demon 170. most reliable top car on the market in its class ......as no one will drive them . they will be flipped from collector to collector , so no warranty claims
Most of the cars here you showed have character. If you’re OK with buying a reliable appliance, that’s fine. I will give up reliability for some sort of character. This is why I own an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. I’ve had it five years and haven’t had a single issue.
I owned a 2000 Jag XJR for ten years. Very few problems and fun to drive.
