    It can take different preparation time for different people depending on their background for english and their exposure to it. Most of us have the benefit of studying in english medium schools our whole childhood which does help us when we apply for English proficiency exams.
    The most important part is to be confident and go through some model papers. I wouldn't say go through 10 or 20 but at least just do 1 model paper, so that you get an idea.
    And please! :D Don't repeat what I did. Honestly that was pretty irresponsible on my side. I had been watching the TV series Orphan Black till 12.30 at night and then woke up at 5.00 to study. That too because I couldn't sleep properly because of the thought of the exam. Prepare a few days before exam. And by preparation I mean, going through the model papers, practice listening to different accents, record yourself talking for the speaking part and hear it again.
    You can contact me for personal IELTS guidance, if you would like. But honestly, you can do it on your own too. My offer stands in case, you still feel like you need to take somebody's help to prepare for the exam well.

    Hi,Bharat. Congratulations on your amazing score. Perhaps ,I can answer your query about the low IELTS score of Indians. Your opinion is highly urbanised to aasume that Indians are taught in English so don't need coaching. Most people appearing for IELTS have a rural or semi rural background where their exposure to English is almost negligible. For them IELTS is as challenging as arabic would be to us. Plz understand that for english speakers,they only need to learn the strategies but for the se people,the language itself is a challenge.

    Well Bharat, first of all CONGRATULATIONS on getting a great score ! It's no mean feat to get 8 pointer when you just study for 3 hrs......
    On the other hand, I would also say that different people have different levels of grasping power....
    What I observe from your preparation for A2 and TestDaf is that you're inherently intelligent and possess great grasping powers......
    Not everybody can pull off such a score in such a short preparation. And maybe that's why some people may join private tutoring....
    In the other hand I also agree that private tutoring for specific exams is over hyped up in India and people must conduct enough research about the exam(Just like you do) and make a rational decision......
    Just my expressing views with you.... Respect you alot....

    @abhijitk4917 6 лет назад +18

    +BharatinGermany! : Hi Bharat!
    About the questions you asked, I think the low average score stats of India are due to the large number of participants from India. Many do not review the contents of the test seriously and many more are not comfortable with English as a medium of communication(They might be very comfortable in using Indian English Creole but might not be confident about using Anglo-Saxon English), their lack of confidence and fear of exams may lead to poor scores.
    About the English medium education system, many schools, even though they are "English medium", use the vernacular or a mix of the vernacular and English to teach their students. You gain mastery of a language by communicating in it and many of these students seldom have an opportunity/are willing to even speak in English for the duration of a single medium length conversation.
    The great majority of Indian students don't even get to know the quality education institutions in India let alone study in one of them.

    It's because Mugging up is considered to be a part of Learning in India. There's no challenge in exams. We are just told to read the textbooks to achieve something; and reading beyond the school textbooks is not something that anybody appreciates.

    I took my Ielts exam last month and my overall band is 8.5 ( L-9, R-9, W-7,S-8) . my engineering (ECE) cgpa is 6.69. I'm planning to take German classes from next week and hope to complete A2 by the end of this year. What are the odds of being able to do ms in Germany in computer science or IT.

    Hey there!! Your video was very helpful but I have some doubts though.My doubt is that 1) why did you choose german over english language 2)I have about 55% aggregate and I'm studying b.tech in EEE branch,do I have any chance in getting a seat in good university for masters in germany if I have the same aggregate? 3) As I said I'm studying in the department if EEE,what course is best for me to choose because I don't have any idea about the courses. If you can please help by guiding me either by youtube or personally by social media

    • @RahulJohnson
      @RahulJohnson 7 лет назад +1

      vamsi krishna From what I know 55% is a bit less. But then again you can still apply, most probably you won't get into any of the TOP universities. Although having a good bachelor's thesis or having done some research, and having a good recommendation letter can also help exponentially.

      Bcoz its easy to get admission in a German taught course than the English taught course. Also, you'll have a lot of specializations to choose among in the german taught courses which are less competitive when compared to the English taught ones.

    Hello, congratulation for cracking the IELTS exam. You are really incredible because you had prepared for 3 hours only. I need your advise in listening part, specially in section 3rd and 4th. I'm ok with the section 1 and 2 where I can answer (17-19)/20 in combined, but in sections 3rd and 4th, I am scoring very low, can answer only (3-5)/20. So, any suggestion you would like to give for me, I will be thankful to you.

    PLEASE HELP
    The instructions say use no more than 3 words
    The question is: How did the students do the project work?
    I wrote IN SMALL GROUPS. But the answer was just GROUPS. WHY??
    It was a listening test and I read the scripts later and the speaker had said In small groups. So why are we not supposed to write IN SMALL?
    This is the only kind of mistake I'm making repeatedly. Another example is:
    The cave was_______ and enclosed. In script the speaker clearly said the cave was very dark and enclosed. So I wrote VERY DARK, but the answer was only dark. WHY WHY WHY? PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND! Will I be given a zero for this answer ???? And I was within the word limit, so that is clearly not the reason I'm wrong.

    I know to lot of people, this video can seem a bit demoralizing. And it is not your fault, indeed. First of all, let me tell all of you who got frustrated: "IELTS does not measure your level of English." Most of the time they confuse you or trick you to choose wrong choice. But it is not a question of higher intellect either. You may have nervous breakdowns or because of anxiety you might lose concentration for a brief period of time. That should not define your intellect. If that defines your intellect then this video is for you where a guy convinces you that three hours of studying can bring you band 8. Bragging is a subcontinental culture, but at least give this guy some credit that he bragged in a polite manner.
