    In this video i make an aluminum tool box using the TIG welding method. This is the very first time i made full project using the Tig method and of course i need practice. I left the welds as is as a moment in time for my personal learning and plan to practice and get better for future projects!
    Thank you!!!

    Thank you all for the love and comments this tig work was really the first time I ever did as much in Aluminum as I have in one sitting. As you can see i need practice by the time I did the tray I was getting better. I left the bad welding as a moment it time ...to get better from. Enjoy

      jimmydiresta,
      I very much enjoyed this one. I love the look with the ironwork and the polished aluminum. Critics “LIKE IT SAYS”, built for work !!!!
      I am a pipe welder, by trade and have done lots of aluminum work besides. TIG torch is the way to go. Keep it up....soon it will come natural.
      In “85” my college instructor could weld two pop cans together (bottom to bottom bevels) Crazy, I still can’t do that lol.
      Keep it up brother, love it all !!!!

    Skilled in all forms of MAKE, without a doubt. Next project: a clear acrylic heavy duty toolbox. What? Sure, you can see exactly what tools are in your box. The go-to box would be as safe as any other because, whether it be acrylic, metal or wood, craftsmen seldom leave their toolboxes in a position to be stolen anyway. Durable for sure, rustproof for sure, workable for sure, practical without a doubt. Give it a go Jimmy.

    But this is one project that i could use on a daily basis. I absolutely love it. I love the industrial look from the forged handles and rivets and the welds. If i could ever get something made from you. This is what i want. I love it.

  • @FigmentsMade
    @FigmentsMade 6 лет назад +21

    Lovely! I really like how the handle on the tray matches the handle on the toolbox. And the darker iron is a great contrast to the shiny aluminum.

  • @s4n714g000
    @s4n714g000 6 лет назад

    I like it, a little rough around the edges and those handles make it look like it was made to be abused, just like an old tool gained its patina through the years, that reflective surface is begging for scratches.
    It'd be great for a present, maybe to someone young starting out, that way you get to see it age.
    Thank you Jimmy!

    Holding the material against the edge guide on the right (as long as it is square to the cutting blade) is a good aid for making a square cut vs watching a guide line. You are also fortunate that the material did not crack where bent using no radius on the bend. That is dependent on the alloy, thickness and proper edge preparation. Granted, this is not an airplane repair. Nice project.
