Of course the original mask is the best! For me, the 2018 mask is in second place, with the Halloween II (1981) mask being in third. After that, I really love the Halloween 6 mask. Great ranking!
Happy Tuesday Lee! What a great list. I'm going to say the original H2 mask is my favorite. I like that it's a bit stretched looking, more disheveled, and of course when it's bleeding. That's iconic!
The only mask that is straight up awful is the part 5 mask, especially because of the neck being outside the coveralls makes Michael look like a bobblehead. The part 4 mask isn't terrible but it looks way too blank which is the same problem with the original H20 mask. The mask used in the final version of H20 is pretty good in terms of looking like the original. The resurrection mask is solid except in the early scenes where the hair looks like an Afro. The part 6 mask, rob zombie mask and 2018 mask are all fantastic, but they all pale in comparison to the original shatner mask.
The strength of resurrection is the mask! You are right. I personally hate Halloween 4 mask. I enjoyed part 4 but the mask brings that movie down alot. For me anyways. Great video drumdums
I feel like the Halloween 4 mask was really eerie, and overall terrifying. I remember being at a family Halloween party when I was about 5 (dressed as Superman I might add) and a commercial for AMC fright fest came on and they showed a snippet of when Michael popped up from under the bed and IT HORRIFIED ME. I had to go home early because I was too scared and wouldn’t stop crying. Fast forward 14 years later and H4 has been my favorite of the franchise for some time now.
Can't wait for the new movie! I'll also be seeing the original Halloween on the big screen on the 16th. Day after my birthday and the same week the new one comes out.

This is the best Myer's mask ranking video that I have ever come across. I love how you included most of the masks even if they were only used briefly in a film. I agree with you about the mask that's being used in the new film. It sure is awesome! I hated the way it looked on the poster but once I saw the trailers, I was like WOW!. My top five Myer's masks are....H2, H1, H18, H6, H5. I'm so freaking excited for the new movie and really digging all the Halloween stuff on your channel. The mask used in Halloween 4 was a lesser quality Shatner mask compared to the one in the first two Halloween films, the pinkish mask that was in the one scene of H4 that you pointed out in this video was a Shatner mask that was not given the Michael Myers makeover yet. You can see the eyes aren't fully cut out and what not.

The funny thing is, they didn't even have to use that medium/wide shot with the cgi mask in it. There's an insert shot with a close up of Michaels eye in that scene. They could have just cut to that without the cgi mask shot.

I recently watched Halloween 6 for the first time in a long time. Before this recent watch Halloween 6 was my least favorite of the series. I can say now that I actually enjoy Haloween 6 but what I loved about Halloween 6 was the mask so I fully agree with you on that mask. And I generally agree on almost every mask as well.

Excellent video and ranking. I personally hate the Resurrection masks and like all the rest. The H4 mask and the portrayal of Myers is great. Absolutely no problems with H4. I also love the bandage wraps and I really like the Winston mask they decided to go with in H20. A huge upgrade from the shitty KnB mask. Zombie’s masks are all fucking awesome too, specifically the clean one.
Late to the party but great list, though I don't agree with the low ranking of the main H20 mask. Maybe it's just nostalgia but that's probably my third favorite mask after the Curse mask and the original mask. I also really love the Rob Zombie masks (2 more than 1, as I think it fits the rest of the movie more), and I don't particularly care for any of the others in other movies
I'd say the worst masks are the Rob Zombie masks, the Halloween 5 mask and the H20 masks with the best ones being the original mask from the first one, the Halloween II mask, the Halloween 4 mask, the Curse mask and the new film's mask.
I'm probably one of the only people that likes a sequel mask over the original. But honestly I flip flop between the two. Curse of Michael Myers is my favorite mask and use of the character by far. He is so awesome in that one and I think his mask is incredible.
can I ask, why did there seem to be always some form of complication with the mask past part 2? After striking gold with the first mask, why didn't they just use the same brand/ painting technique for each of them? Was it a case of copyright with star trek and shatner, or was it someone in each film trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak? enjoying your content very much!
Stan Winston Mask looks better than the drag queen version of Michael from Resurrection not considering actors. I like 1981 HII aged og mask.... phenomenal vibe it gives off and Dick Warlock is also my favorite Myers. BTW, the mask from Rob Zombies first film was the best thing about the film all together lol.

Hey Lee, I just thought of a somewhat obscure ranking video that I'd love to see from a fellow Halloween junkie! Top 10 Non-Shatner Masks and Masquerades in the franchise...like the kiddie clown costume & fake Bob ghost sheet tricking Linda in the original, the mummy garage scene in Part 4, Tina's hot rod interaction with Michael in that creepy old man mask in Part 5, Silver Shamrock, the Smith's Grove treasure trove in Rob Zombie's H1, etc. Also, I'd love a Top 10 (or maybe just a Top 5) Favorite Halloween Final Girls: Laurie, Rachel, Jamie, Kara, Molly, Sara, RZ's Laurie (and Annie), plus Karen & Allyson in 2018. This is the best Myer's mask ranking video that I have ever come across. I love how you included most of the masks even if they were only used briefly in a film. I agree with you about the mask that's being used in the new film. It sure is awesome! I hated the way it looked on the poster but once I saw the trailers, I was like WOW!. My top five Myer's masks are....H2, H1, H18, H6, H5. I'm so freaking excited for the new movie and really digging all the Halloween stuff on your channel. I'd love to see a best to worst Myer's portrayals video from you. That would be really awesome.

Those are my ranks, I think the H20 and 5 are the weakest masks, there's something about resurrection that I have a love/ hate for , I totally agree with you the 2018 mask is amazing, from what I've seen in person with the tots mask your copy is superb and would be creepy in the shadows , can't wait for 31 days of horror

7.The Part III Mask - I know it is the first time Jason gets to wear it , but it is a pretty small normal hockey mask that reveales a little too much.Still a good one
6.The Final Chapter Mask - pretty identical to the last but it had nice touch ups and the portrayal of Jason helped a lot
5.Jason Goes To Hell Mask - Despite how the film is , the first like 10 minutes give us a badass mask.It is imbeded to Jason's face and it looks awesome
4.Reboot Main Mask - Really effective and creepy
3.The Original Sack Headed Jason from Part II - Such an iconic looks and I think it's safe to say that ot beats the hockey mask by the spookiness factor

haha the reason why the mask from Halloween II is so dirty is because Debra Hill and John Carpenter had the mask under the bed and were heavy smokers.
The mask used in Halloween 4 was a lesser quality Shatner mask compared to the one in the first two Halloween films, the pinkish mask that was in the one scene of H4 that you pointed out in this video was a Shatner mask that was not given the Michael Myers makeover yet. You can see the eyes aren't fully cut out and what not.
Great ranking list, I never realized how many masks were actually used throughout the whole Franchise. It must've been hard to go back and remember them all.
It helped that I just finished reviewing the whole franchise. They were still fresh in my head.

Can't say its a work of art but its an old movie that I enjoy. And would like to hear your thoughts on it if possible.

Great ranking, Lee!! For myself, I would probably put Rob Zombie's Halloween mask alternating at the 1 or 2 spot along with the original mask or the 2018 one. I had no clue that the mask in part 5 was a mix of Greg Nicotero! I love him and now I feel bad that the mask is probably my least favourite hahaha!

H6 was the scariest for me. As a kid that michael freaked me out! Ha i actually kinda like h5 mask. I wish trick or treat studios would make a h5 mask. But the o.g is def the best like you said. Dam now i need a monster! Hahaa. I actually usually buy rockstar but u always have a monster so that sounds good now ha!

The funny thing is, they didn't even have to use that medium/wide shot with the cgi mask in it. There's an insert shot with a close up of Michaels eye in that scene. They could have just cut to that without the cgi mask shot.

I recently watched Halloween 6 for the first time in a long time. Before this recent watch Halloween 6 was my least favorite of the series. I can say now that I actually enjoy Haloween 6 but what I loved about Halloween 6 was the mask so I fully agree with you on that mask. And I generally agree on almost every mask as well.
Hell yeah 6 is like a fine wine. Just gets better with age...and damn that mask!

Excellent video and ranking. I personally hate the Resurrection masks and like all the rest. The H4 mask and the portrayal of Myers is great. Absolutely no problems with H4. I also love the bandage wraps and I really like the Winston mask they decided to go with in H20. A huge upgrade from the shitty KnB mask. Zombie’s masks are all fucking awesome too, specifically the clean one.

Late to the party but great list, though I don't agree with the low ranking of the main H20 mask. Maybe it's just nostalgia but that's probably my third favorite mask after the Curse mask and the original mask. I also really love the Rob Zombie masks (2 more than 1, as I think it fits the rest of the movie more), and I don't particularly care for any of the others in other movies

I'd say the worst masks are the Rob Zombie masks, the Halloween 5 mask and the H20 masks with the best ones being the original mask from the first one, the Halloween II mask, the Halloween 4 mask, the Curse mask and the new film's mask.
I'm probably one of the only people that likes a sequel mask over the original. But honestly I flip flop between the two. Curse of Michael Myers is my favorite mask and use of the character by far. He is so awesome in that one and I think his mask is incredible.
Yeah the II mask is pretty damn solid.
can I ask, why did there seem to be always some form of complication with the mask past part 2? After striking gold with the first mask, why didn't they just use the same brand/ painting technique for each of them? Was it a case of copyright with star trek and shatner, or was it someone in each film trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak? enjoying your content very much!
kkouuy Simple answer. It was a rights issue. They wanted to avoid any legal entanglements with the Shatner estate.

Stan Winston Mask looks better than the drag queen version of Michael from Resurrection not considering actors. I like 1981 HII aged og mask.... phenomenal vibe it gives off and Dick Warlock is also my favorite Myers. BTW, the mask from Rob Zombies first film was the best thing about the film all together lol.
Top favorite mask, #1 is the 2018 version. There's something perfect about it imo. I call the gauze mask the Darkman mask lol.
