Great video man! It always amazes me at how differently everyone ranks this franchise. Aside from the original being the best and Resurrection being the worst it's wild how differently the other films are appreciated. Thanks a lot for the shout out!
Yeah no other franchise has such diversity like Halloween. I think that says a lot about this franchise. There's something for everyone within. And no problem!
This was a very unique ranking for the Halloween series man. I do love the fact that you are giving some personal reasons behind your choices. This blocks people from telling you that you are wrong. Great video!
Here's mine: 1 - H1 2 - H2 3 - H4 4 - H20 5 - H3 6 - H6 7 - H5 8 - RZH1 9 - HR 10 - RZH2 ** I expect that I will highly enjoy H2018 so I am thinking that once I see it, it will probably be ranked at least in my top 4 but who knows!
It's like that part in Friday the 13th Part III in the flashback where Chris gets attacked by Jason and he's wearing the Part III clothes even though that flashback is set 2 years before 2, 3 and 4 which are all set over the course of a week. In that flashback Jason should be wearing the Part 2 clothes because he hadn't stolen the III clothes from Harold and Edna's washing line yet.
Nice list. "The curse" is super underrated. My list looks like this. 1. Halloween '78 2. Halloween 2 3. Halloween 4 he Return of Michael Myers 4. Halloween H20 5. Halloween 6 The Curse of Michael Myers 6. Halloween 3 season of the witch 7. Halloween RZ 8. Halloween RZ II 9. Halloween 5 The revenge of Michael Myers 10. Halloween Resurrection Worst Character: Tina from 5... Honorable Mention Busta Rhymes Resurrection Best Character: Laurie Strode/ Jamie Leigh Curtis Favorite Kill: Jamie in part 6.....Honorable Mention Bob form the original Favorite Michael: Nick Castle Best Mask: The original Worst mask: The Return of Michael Myers
I remember seeing 4 in the theater and being completely terrified. And tbh, the mask never bothered me. The mask in 5 is so different that it can be off-putting.
Even though are lists are very different you have really good valid points on everything :) Enjoyed hearing you rank and talk about the franchise as a whole! *(oh and I've always loved that alternate artwork you used on your JC's Halloween)
Yes there are quite a few different version of the Halloween poster and I like to show them off from time to time. Thank you Susan and I hope you have a great week!
I’ve had the flu this week and I’ve been binge-watching your channel the last couple days! Very good list! I like seeing Halloween 4 get the love it deserves. It was my first Halloween as well, but I didn’t catch it until the double-disc DVD of 4 and 5. I’ve watched it more than any other one. We share the number 1 and 2 spots. While I’m not a Zombie fan, I do have to agree that I like his second one better. Thanks for your channel, dude! It’s kept me very entertained and I’ve watched it in between watching some of the horror movies you’ve reviewed. I rate your channel very binge-worthy!
I must say, your reviews are EXCELLENT. I follow a lot of other movie reviewers on RUclips, but you really seem to "get" horror movies, which is one of my favorite genres. I think the thing I like most about your reviewing style is how easy-going you are about your opinions. You may praise a film but make a point to say you understand why people might not like it, and vice versa. It's a nice change from reviewers that make it seem that if you don't agree, you're an idiot, ya know? You make your case, and want to genuinely discusses it afterwards, which is super cool. I watched all through your Halloween and F13 reviews, and can't wait to check out others. You've given me incentive to rewatch certain entries that I originally dismissed, like Zombie's Halloween 2, and some of the F13s. Plus I like that you have enough film knowledge to critique technical things like lighting, cinematography, etc; and especially music. I'm a musician myself, so to have a reviewer put time into talking about the music is just great. Thank you.
My personal ranking of my all time favorite horror franchise the Halloween Franchise: (Great video btw) 1. Halloween (1978) - A f*cking masterpiece 2. Halloween H20 - Best sequel of the franchise largely due to Jamie Lee Curtis (I agree it does have a weak score) 3. Halloween 4 - Great & legitimately chilling film, Michael Myers at his most terrifying 4. Halloween 2 (1981) - Solid sequel but the pacing isn't great 5. Halloween 3 - Solid film largely due to Tom Atkins & the concept is pretty creepy 6. Halloween 6 - Okay film with a fantastic atmosphere plus you can't go wrong with Paul Rudd & that ending is still haunting 7. Halloween (2007) - Decent film with a promising take but you can't invest in the characters & perhaps too dark 8. Halloween 5 - Pretty bad film thanks to it's poor story/structure & comedic element but the third act is good 9. Halloween Resurrection - Horrible film largely due to the awful execution of an interesting concept plus Busta Rhymes 10. Halloween II (2009) - Awful film with Michael Myers & Loomis at their worst plus the film was soulless & too dark (The only Halloween film I hate)
Drumdums, I respect your choices for which movies you've ranked from worst to best in the HALLOWEEN franchise. It started to sink in why #6 The Curse of Michael Myers is ranked closer to the best in your opinion. Probably because the way that Michael was being portrayed, just like he was made to be. After all, he is The Shape. And the best part about The Shape is that he is all about mystery, like Loomis said in the beginning of 1981's H2: "I shot him 6 times!" Being shot 6 times, and still capable of standing back up and walking away into the darkness of night. Between you, Dave McRae and We Watched A Movie, all of you really understand what makes HALLOWEEN movies special to the viewer. Good job again Drumdums👍🎃
Thanks Brandon. 6 really nails Michael, and that's what I love about it so much. The darkness, the mystery, the cinematography. It's all there. And I'm planning a live stream with Dave McRae and WeWatchedAMovie real soon. Stay tuned!
It's very interesting to hear other people's takes on the franchise, and the different rankings of the films. At least 1 thing that everyone seems to agree on is the fact that the original Halloween is the best. If anyone were to say different, they're not a true Halloween fan. I would rank as follows (from best to worst): John Carpenter's Halloween Halloween 2 (1981) Halloween H20 Rob Zombie's Halloween Halloween 4 Halloween 5 Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 Halloween 6 Season of the Witch (I also don't think it should have Halloween in the title) Halloween Resurrection I'll come back and edit this list after this year's new Halloween comes out, if I remember. I can't wait to see it! I'm thinking (and really hoping) that it'll be the best one yet since the original.
Drumdums Most definitely, man! It's crazy to see just how much it varies from person to person. I based my ranking off of a few factors - how good the movie was as a whole and how close it kept to the Michael Myers character from the original.
Again a little late to the party haha but I figured I'd share my ranking. 1. Halloween - It's a classic that still frightens me visually and mentally plus it changed the film genre for the best. 2. Halloween 4 - Its the perfect sequel that capitalised on the ten year anniversary. It's got some of the best developed characters. 3. Halloween (2007) - Maybe an unpopular opinion but if your making a remake nobody wants a shot for shot of the remake (ew Psycho remake). Rob Zombie made a Rob Zombie film and it was fresh and different. 4. Halloween 3 - It was definitely a John Carpenter film the story was great and the music was fantastic. A true film to live up to the title of Halloween. 5. Halloween 2 - The hospital setting was enough to creep me out of never wanting to stay over night at a hospital. The kills were upped in ante due to the friday films and in comparison to those they were awesome. Plus they brought back Jamie Lee Curtis in what was supposed to be her swan song to horror we all know how that turned out. 6.Halloween 6 - Michael Myers was scary in this film. The mask was amazing if this movie has any flaws outside obvious production issues it would be no Danielle Harris. The "Thorn Trilogy" is something in horror that can actually be considered scary. 7.Halloween 2 (2009) - They made Laurie crazy that's bold I love bold. Michael is shown to be brutal as hell. I do wish they'd have left out the psychic link it didn't work in 5 it didn't work in here. Plus i love dick head Loomis nobody is going to be as good as Donald Plesance so why try this Loomis his own. 8.Halloween 7 (H20) - They got Jamie Lee Curtis back that's awesome. But they tried so hard to be scream I love scream don't get me wrong but Apple's and Oranges. Michael is nothing but the long lost fourth stooge. The mask changes bother me. If this movie has any actual redeeming factor its Josh Hardnet. 9.Halloween 5 - A movie should never be rushed into production without a concrete story already developed. They made one of the best child actors a mute. The third act was amazing but it doesn't redeem the rest of the movie. Don Shanks was amazing tho. The not explained man in black being teased with no pay off was crap. The psychic link is a cool concept for horror just not in this film. 10.Halloween Resurrection - Busta Rhymes saying trick or treat mother fucker and roundhousing Michael. That's all I'm saying about that film.
Love this video. So cool that Halloween 4 was your first theatrical experience because it was mine too. Really great hearing your breakdown. I am glad you are a fan of H2 (2009) too. I love that film too. Great raking. Keep up great work
I'm finding a really interesting pattern where people put one RZ entry near the bottom and one near the top. While I love both of them, especially the second one for reasons you mentioned, I can understand why they're so polarizing. Honestly, as a reviewer, it's going to be a daunting task for me to inevitably cover the Halloween franchise, because I have some controversial things to say. But I really appreciate you speaking your mind here and not letting popular opinion sway your thoughts!
Mine: 10- resurrection 9- the revenge 8- season of the witch 7- the curse 6- h2 2009 ( I love it) 5- remake( I love it too) 4- the return 3- h20 2- h 2(1981) 1- h 1 (1978)
Great video and I love these ranking videos! RZ's Halloween 2 is very underrated. I love that film! I like some parts of the underrated version, but the theatrical version is my favorite. I had a great time seeing it in theaters.
In the beginning of Halloween 5, I always found Michael Myers floating down the river with his theme playing in the background soo unintentionally hilarious, and one of my favorite parts of the Rob Zombie Halloween was the Mask they used! great video as always dude - George
Nice reviews dude. Much respect. Here's my list. 10. Rob Zombie Halloween 2 9. Halloween Resurrection 8. Rob Zombie Halloween 7. Halloween H20 6. Halloween 6 The Curse of Michael Myers 5. Halloween 5 The Revenge of Michael Myers 4. Halloween III Season of the Witch 3. Halloween II 2. Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Myers 1. Halloween 1978 🎃
I love your "ranking" videos! You have me wanting to check them out now! I have never gotten into the Halloween franchise (DON'T hurt me, lol! Don't!) but after seeing you talk about them, I will be watching them in the future. What's odd is that I never even heard of Halloween until Drew Barrymore's character in Scream mentions it. I was born in 1978, so, by the time I was old enough to watch Horror films, I was watching Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriers, Friday the 13th, Child's Play, Gremlins, Near Dark, Fright Night, Sleepaway Camp, Critters, etc. Halloween just never made an appearance---until now. Take care, buddy!
I really thought you had already made a ranking video for the franchise. It's weird because it's so different than what I thought it was going to be, not like there can be a wrong list, I think I always just expect different because I'm so crazy about them too. I would've tried to make videos if I knew what I was doing, I find it so intriguing/fascinating, which is probably weird. You should definitely make more rankings though for sure, I enjoyed it.
As much as I talk about Halloween, that's understandable. But yeah I've never done it until this video. I was scared to death on my first few videos, but it gets a lot easier.
Great vid! I don't agree with all your choices but I can understand why you made them. Just found the channel, and subbed! Keep the Halloween content coming! :D For me: Great 1. John Carpenter's Halloween - The original classic and is perfect in every way. My favorite movie of all time. 2. Halloween 4: Return of Michael Myers - This is a masterful return that lives up to the original and brings Michael back with a vengeance. He is truly horrifying in this movie and I really enjoyed the introduction of a solid new cast. The opening scene at the farm is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series. It is directed perfectly and has a seriously unsettling feel. The suspense is palpable throughout the entire film and the ending left me shook. I was terrified of this movie as a kid watching on AMC, but now I love it! 3. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (Producer's Cut) - I choose this one over the Theatrical cut every time because of how it explains his power. Some people hate that, but I absolutely love it. The cult angle ties into the original novelization of Halloween (great read btw) of how Michael is possessed by the spirit of a Celtic teenager through Thorn. Even the explanations of his power being amplified by constellations in specific years was awesome. Also, the increased suspense and lack of cheesy gore makes this one of the almost atmospheric and terrifying entries in the series. Michael is at the height of his terror in this one. Also, best cinematography of the entire series. Everything is so well done in the Producer's cut. The only thing I would add if I was doing a personal cut is the operating room scene. It was great. 4. Halloween II - A great continuation of the original. It doesn't have as good of a pace, but I really enjoy seeing the aftermath of the original when everyone figures out what is going on. Poor Ben Tramer. And Mr. Sandman.. that song takes me to this movie every time I hear it. Good 5. Halloween H20 - The true end to the original series of films. I like to think it's a sequel to 6. With the curse gone by being passed to Loomis, Michael is mortal and is finally killed when he seeks out Laurie. A great bookend to the series. 6. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers - A misunderstood film. I really enjoy it and it's actually really scary. I could do without the cop sound effects, but aside from that, I always enjoy it. I like how they begin dropping serious hints at the Thorn curse. I liked Tina and her courage to save Jamie. Rachel's death made me legit sad. Really enjoyed her as a character. I will say my only gripe with the film is they used a different Myers house. That throws me off every time. 7. Halloween III: Season of the Witch - I actually saw this for the first time last year. I didn't know what to expect, but it was so out there that I really enjoyed it. It was different and had an awesome 80s cheese feel to it. I would've liked if it was less tech focused and more about witchcraft, but it was still good. And the ending is a real curveball I didn't see coming. 8. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (Theatrical Cut) - I really don't like this cut of the movie. It's such generic horror with hilariously bad gore kills (farm equipment, head blowing up, green ooze) and lacks the suspense of the producer cut. Also, they barely touch on Thorn and that was unforgivable. I'm so glad we have the producer cut after all these years. The ending is a stupid stand off with Michael getting injected and beaten with a pipe...? And then Loomis screams off screen... It's pretty horrible. The only saving grace of this third act is the OR scene. I would love to have that in the producer cut somehow. But I don't ever watch this version of the movie. Awful 9. Rob Zombie's Halloween - Wow the beginning is terrible. Michael is a fat kid who screams a lot and lives in a generic white trash family. His sister is a hoe, mom is a stripper, angry step dad belittles him, picked on a school, then snaps. Such a terrible way to give him a backstory. The whole point is that he is a perfectly happy normal kid in a normal suburban family and then he flips a switch (or is cursed). It's so obvious what Zombie wanted to do and it fails completely. Halloween should never be a white trash romp full of hicks and disgusting people. It was a classless movie and made me sick watching it. I made the mistake of watching the directors cut and had to sit through two guards raping a mental patient... Seriously? And the second half is just a poorly directed retelling of the original. And Laurie is SO annoying. I really hated Scout Taylor-Compton in this. But the worst part is it has Zombie's finger prints all over it. He always casts his wife and his friends, and all of the characters are so awful and unlikable. The whole time I was thinking "go ahead Michael, get rid of them.." Loomis was also terrible in this. McDowell can't hold a candle to Pleasance's portrayal. This film is an absolute insult to John Carpenter. And why is Michael almost 7 feet tall..?! Gees what a clusterf***. 10. Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 - Somehow it gets worse. Michael is a hobo and even angrier and more brutal. The BS with his dead mom, the white horse, and Laurie is all awful. He needs to really stop casting his wife. Also, why is Loomis such an asshole in this? And the ending with Laurie becoming the next killer is a terrible ending. So bad. I'll never watch it again. I'm glad this franchise was ripped away from Zombie. 11. Halloween Resurrection - This film doesn't exist to me because its a soulless cash grab from a terrible and asinine alt ending of H20. The series ended perfectly with H20 and this sought to ruin it for everyone. The film does a disservice to Laurie with her dying that way, and disservice to Michael when he gets punked by Busta Rhymes. This movie was made in a terrible time period where everything had to have a mainstream flavor, and that meant casting celebrities so people would go see it. It's an absolute abomination and even the premise reeks of that era where hidden cam reality shows we're getting popular. It seems like it was made by an advertisement/PR team with no care given to the source material. I refuse to watch it ever again. It's absolute garbage. PS. I love your shirt! Any tips on where to get one?
10. Halloween 2 (2009) 9. Halloween (2007) (I guess I just don't like Rob Zombie's style of film) 8. Halloween the Curse of Michael Myers 7. Halloween Resurrection 6. Halloween 3 Season of the Witch 5. Halloween H20 4. Halloween 4 the Return of Michael Myers 3. Halloween 5 the Revenge of Michael Myers 2. Halloween ii (1981) 1. Halloween (1978) I like all except the bottom 3 at least a little bit
This is my exact same ranking! Rob zombie H2 is completely misunderstood and the curse of Michael Myers has easily the most brutal shape in the franchise. Good call!
Awesome video bro I like H1, H6, H4, H2, H20, H5, RZH, RZH2, HR, H3. It's interesting to see your list and man I'm so damn jealous you seen Halloween 6 in theaters. I wonder where the new one will fall on your list, hopefully Carpenter brings back the casio keyboard lol.
Hell yeah love the synth bro! Nice to see 6 as your number 2. It frequently falls in the same position for me. Love that movie...and yes, it was soooo cool seeing it in theaters.
1) Halloween (1978) 2) Halloween IV 3) Halloween II (1981) 4) Halloween H20 5) Halloween VI 6) Rob Zombies Halloween 7) Halloween III 8) Halloween V 9) Rob Zombies Halloween II 10) Halloween Resurrection
Awesome ranking Lee! Hers my rankings for the Halloween franchise! (From Best To Worst) 1. Halloween (1978) - 10/10 2. Halloween II (1981) - 9.5/10 3. Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007) - 9.5/10 4. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) - 9.5/10 5. Halloween: H20 - 20 Years Later (1998) - 9/10 6. Rob Zombie's Halloween II (2009) - 9/10 7. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) - 7.5/10 8. Halloween III: The Season of the Witch (1982) - 7/10 9. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989) - 6.5/10 10. Halloween: Resurrection (2002) - 5/10 And, like I said before. Great rankings Lee! And Great video as well! Keep up the great work Brother! :)
Here's mine, I love watching others rank the franchise considering the new Halloween is coming out this October: 10.) Halloween II (2009) 9.) Halloween: Resurrection 8.) Halloween III: Season of the Witch 7.) Halloween (2007) 6.) Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers 5.) Halloween II (1981) 4.) Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers 3.) Halloween H20 2.) Halloween (1978) 1.) Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
I would love to see your Halloween 6: The Good Edition. Halloween 6 ranks about as high for me as it does for you. I love both cuts, aside from the final act of the Producer's.
Alright here’s my ranking. 1. Halloween 10/10 What more can be said 2. Halloween II 9/10 Great film but suffers by not furthering the characters and keeping it very similar to the original 3. H20 9/10 Very good film and extremely satisfying to see Laurie kick the shit out of Michael Myers 4. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers 7/10 A fine movie that has a really strong idea with a amazing ending but is held back from how much it feels like a sitcom at certain points. Also the Michael Myers mask is inexcusably bad. 5. Halloween III: Season of the Witch 7/10 Very fun and enjoyable Halloween film. Yes Michael Myers is not in it but it still has a lot of enjoyment to be found, in a cheesy way. 6. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers 6/10 I appreciate aspects of this movie and I can tolerate watching it but there are a lot of problems with the movie especially the editing and the producers cut fixes problems but also creates its own 7. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers 5/10 Boring. Slow. Awful Michael Myers mask. Terrible characters. Undoes everything the previous film set up 8. Halloween: Resurrection 4/10 Bad. Just bad. Makes Michael Myers a joke. Undoes all the genuine terror of his character by having Busta Rhymes make a fool of him. 9. Halloween II (2009) 3/10 There are parts of this film I enjoy but not only is this movie a mess, it’s exhausting. I refuse to admit that Michael Myers is in this movie because he barely wears the mask, he just looks like a Duck Dynasty reject, actually speaks (which is such a piss weak moment with him screaming DIE). 10. Halloween (2007) 1/10 Here we are. The worst of the worst. And what more can be said. Pisses on Michael Myers by showing his upbringing. Fucking boring. Terrible characters and a pointless retread of the original.
Very unique list Lee, I have mad respect for you for going with your gut instead of viewing the films from a mainstream opinionated approach! Finally got around to watching all of the Halloween movies so here’s my ranking: 1.Halloween 2.Halloween II 3.Halloween III: Season Of The Witch 4.Rob Zombie’s Halloween II 5.Halloween: H20 6.Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers 7.Rob Zombie’s Halloween 8.Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers 9.Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers 10.Halloween: Resurrection
Great job! Halloween 4 terrified me too when I first seen it. I had nightmares of Myers for a long time! But now as an adult it's a movie I love to watch it every October it's a tradition.
10. Halloween: Resurrection 9. Rob Zombie’s Halloween II 8. Halloween III: Season Of The Witch 7. Rob Zombie’s Halloween 6. Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers 5. Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers 4. Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers 3. Halloween H20 2. Halloween II 1. Halloween I feel like I’m the Only person who likes Halloween II over H20
Love that your doing the ranking videos. Can't wait for you to do The Friday The 13th series. My Halloween ranking would be from best to worst 1)Halloween 2)Halloween II 3)Halloween 4 4) RZ Halloween 5) RZ Halloween 2 6) Halloween 3 7)Halloween H20 8)Halloween 5 9)Halloween Curse 10)Halloween Resurrection!
1. Halloween (1978) 2. Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers (1988) 3. Halloween ll (1981) 4. Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers (1989) 5. Halloween (2007) 6. Halloween ll (2009) 7. Halloween: H20 (1998) 8. Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers (1995) 9. Halloween: Resurrection (2002) 10. Halloween lll: Season Of The Witch (1982)
I know I'm 4 years late to this old video, but this is still an amazing ranking. My favorite is also the Original, nothing can top it, it gave birth to one of the most iconic franchises and the most iconic horror character ever. Keep up the good work Drumdums!
@@DrumdumsOfficial you're welcome. Also, I love Zombies movies, even if there not the best ever. His second is far better then his first outing though, not as trashy as well.
It's crazy to see how everyone's films line up on this. My all time favorite will probably be H20 because it was the first halloween movie to see in theaters and it always stuck. Granted I thought it was better then than I do now. But depending my mood my list varies. But i would be curious on how you would watch the movies during a marathon? Would it be 78-09 straight through. Or bounce through your list? Would you watch it in story line settings?
I agree...that first theater experience with a Halloween movie is something special. I think that's why 4 holds such a special place in my heart. Thanks for watching.
Having FINALLY seen the 2018 film(can't believe it took me until November), here's my ranking with it included. #1. Halloween (1978) / Halloween II (1981) - Ranking them as one movie, because I had basically the same experience watching them. It kept me completely engrossed all the way through, I could not look away from the screen. My only flaw with the original was that it left on a cliffhanger(which I get is meant to be scary, but just seemed like the story was unfinished) and that's rectified by the second movie. It feels like one complete story to me and I don't think the 2nd film was any less scarier than the first, so together they are. #2. Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers (1988) - Donald Pleasence and Danielle Harris together, in a movie that doesn't suck. It's not nearly as great as the first two, but it's a good follow-up. I like how the aged Loomis is a bit more crazed, to the point where his colleagues try to avoid him, and of course I like the character of Jamie. The final cliffhanger is one of the best moments of the franchise. #3. Halloween (2018) - A strong reboot of the franchise. I do wish there was more original content in it, but the production team clearly did their homework and tried to make a film worthy of Carpenter's original and I respect that. #4. Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers (1995) - I'm mainly thinking of the Producer's Cut here, but anyway, I was really intrigued by the Curse of Thorn storyline and I'm sad that it got botched the way that it did. Love the cinematography of this film, especially in the scene where the old woman tells the kid about the backstory of Samhain, I think it harkens back to the tone of the third movie really nicely. #5. Halloween H20 (1998) - The final confrontation between Michael and Laurie is really epic. Aside from that, it's an alright film. I didn't mind LL Cool J being in it, I think he played a likable enough character. It was middle of the road. #6. Halloween III: Season Of The Witch (1982) - Mixed bag. Productionwise, it's great and the Carpenter score definitely works wonders in giving the film a creepy atmosphere. I'm quite fond of Cochran as the bad guy as well. I just wish it all came together in some kind of a coherent storyline. If it did, I'd consider it a classic, but as it is, it's just a bit too all over the place for me to fully enjoy. #7. Halloween (2007) - I don't think Halloween really needed a remake, especially a gruesome Rob Zombie version, but it's an okay horror movie. #8. Halloween: Resurrection (2002) - It was more enjoyable than I expected(damn, Katee Sackhoff looks fine), but it's pretty silly. And the Laurie retcon was unforgivable. #9. Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers (1989) - Dumb movie. So, we have to follow this Friday the 13th bunch of nympho teens, the great ending of Halloween 4 gets scrapped and for some reason, Loomis turns into a loony and risks Jamie's life to get Michael? I call bullshit. It's a crappy movie mostly, but not even bothering to detail why Loomis's character would pull a 180 makes it complete shit in my eyes. #10. Halloween II (2009) - I have no idea what to make of this film. It's just bizarre and I don't know what Zombie was trying to accomplish here. I like that they explored Laurie's trauma, but I think they made her too unlikable in the process. And Loomis was kind of wasted.
Love love love your videos!! Thank you so much for giving season of the witch some love! Everybody always trashes it because they don’t understand what John Carpenter was going for with this film. I would have loved to see more Halloween spin offs done by John Carpenter.
My list ..... Count down to #1. 10)Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie Version) 9) Halloween (Rob Zombie Version) 8)Halloween 3 Season of the witch 7)Halloween 6 6)Halloween 2 (the original) 5)Halloween (the original) 4) Resurrection 3) H20 2) Halloween 5 1) Halloween 4 Now mind u ...... I do like all of these movies from 1 to #9.& the first 8 I love. The one at 10 is the second Rob Zombie remake. That's the only one I didn't like. I liked the 1st Rob Zombie one. & I loved all of the rest of the Halloweens. This is just how I rank them. But thanks again Drumdums for letting me share my opinion with you. 👋😎
I LOVE Halloween 4. Glad it ranked high on the list! Also, I think it's awesome that you've made your own cuts of a few of these movies. Seriously, that's genius!
HORROR ADDICTS Yeah I love making fan edits. I made one for RZ's Halloween 2 as well. I liked the theatrical ending better so I tacked it on the director's cut.
Hey man, love the videos, and have recommended you to several friends. Random question my friends and I where talking about (while watching Halloween 4-5). Unrealistic question, but what do you think Michael Myers does during a typical day? How does he eat ? Where does he sleep ? Possibly a dumb question, but I consider you a big Halloween fan and was wondering you input. Thanks bro. Keep up the great work.
Nice video! Halloween 4 is definitely in my top 5 out of the series (along with the original, the original part 2, H20 and 2018 Halloween) but there’s a few things that make me cringe. Kelly’s Death - it looks like she was backing into a wall instead of a door before she died, the 3 men in the truck not noticing Michael as he gradually kills them and the fact that they didn’t utilize the ending of this movie into Halloween 5.
Drumdums - late to the party but just found you and love your vids. Halloween is my favorite franchise as well. Have to say I do love Halloween 4 for its opening sequence, with the drone-like score and the atmosphere throughout. But the mask is the worst mask of them all lol. That was the biggest downfall for me. What were they thinking?? I do defend Halloween 6 as well though. Though I’m not a HUGE fan of the Thorn aspect, Myers is menacing and at one of his best in this. It’s also the darkest and goriest of them all. So that always helps. Great videos man keep it up!
6: H20 Huge space in between these 2 5: Halloween 2 1981 4: The Curse Of Michael Myers 3: RZ Halloween 2007 it gets too much hate 2: H2018 1: Halloween
10. Halloween II 2009 9. Halloween Resurrection 8. Halloween 2007 7. Halloween V: The Revenge of Michael Myers 6. Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Myers Top 5 5. Halloween III: Season of the Witch 4. Halloween IV: The Return of Michael Myers 3. Halloween II 1981 2. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later 1. Halloween 1978
I enjoyed your ranking and would definitely like to see more of these ranking videos. I also change my opinion from time to time on which movies I like the most. Sometimes for me my second favorite is Halloween II and other times it's Halloween 4. I change my mind constantly with the Friday the 13th films. The only consistent one for me is my favorite which is part 3.
My list would probably be: 1. Halloween (1978) 2. Halloween H20 3. Halloween 4 4. Halloween II (1981) 5. Halloween III 6. Halloween 6 7. Halloween (2007) 8. Halloween 5 9. Halloween (2009) 10. Halloween Resurrection I will say though I love my top 9 and rewatch them all regularly. Resurrection is the only one that I think is a piece of shit and find it hard to sit through.
i enjoyed halloween 2 1981 just as much as the original, the hospital at night was just as creepy and eerie as being in the amityville house with the shadows, sudden noises people dropping off like flies and the whole place just looked like a morgue or mausoleum and that helped with the atmosphere! so cool!
Leach, We Watched a Movie, McCrae.. Love those guys but You are spot on with my opinion of the sequel countdown. However, I do feel like Halloween 5 not only has a great 3rd act, I also love the opening sequence of Michael carving a pumpkin to the opening credits along with the eery music. Also, I know most people feel Halloween 3 should have not been part of the franchise but I think it makes the franchise sorta unique. I mean, Annie is in it, Jamie Lee is in it, John Carpenter is in it and technically, Michael is in it even if it was a preview of Halloween😂 Anyway, I have no argument about your ranking. Agreed 100 percent bro!🎃🔪
Ahhh, Halloween...the best. So excited for this new one. Okay, so lemme explain some things. -I ranked the Producers Cut of Part 6 above the theatrical version because even though the cool hospital massacre scene is gone, there are story beats here that make the plot so much easier to understand and cinematography as well as the editing is much more consistent in tone with the first film in the franchise. Yeah, rocks stopping Michael is kinda dumb...but is it really any more dumb than Paul Rudd beating Michael to "death" with a pipe? No way. Watching the Producers Cut makes me appreciate this film in a way I never have since I first saw it on VHS back in the mid-90s. -Also, yes, Season of the Witch is VERY high on this list...but justifiably so, I promise. Dean Cundy's cinematography and the John Carpenter/Alan Howarth soundtrack are impeccable, but it's not just that. There is this eerie air about this film that encapsulates the spirit of Halloween so well. I even think that Stranger Things borrowed a lot from this movie. Conspiracy to cover up supernatural evil? Check. Washed-up, booze-fueled middle-aged man in desperate need of a win? Check. A female protagonist who has just lost a loved one to the supernatural evil? Check. Spooky synthesizer and keyboard music? Check. Anyyycrap...enjoy. Or don't. It's the internet! 11. Halloween: Resurrection 10. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers 9. Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later 8. Halloween (2007) 7. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (Theatrical Cut) 6. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (Producers Cut) 5. Halloween II (2009) 4. Halloween II (1981) 3. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers 2. Halloween III: Season of the Witch 1. Halloween (1978)
Hey man , you remember me from Facebook? Here’s my ranking 10. Ressurection 9.6 83 7.2 6.h20 5.rob zombie Halloween 4. Rob zombie Halloween 2 3.4 2.5 1.1
Really enjoyed this video as usual. I share your affinity for Halloween 6 and I've never understood all the flak it gets - the poster still scares me to this day (something about the black leather gloves and the girl's face gives me shivers). Halloween 2 is a slow burner but that would probably be my favorite sequel , followed by 4. And I absolutely love Halloween 3 haha.. what a curious little cult gem! That film gets me in the spirit every October. I have the great Scream Factory edition. You should rank all the other franchises!
Halloween 4 is my favorite....I don't know if it's bad that I enjoy it a little more than the original, but to me they just nailed everything in it. The atmosphere is perfect, the characters likeable, and I love the fact the towns power is knocked out, leaving them basically to fend for themselves in the dark, with an unstoppable killer on the loose. It's not only my favorite horror movie but my favorite movie period. I was fortunate enough to meet Danielle Harris twice now and got her to sign parts 4 and 5, not to mention my friend wanted to be there the first time but couldnt, and she's so down to earth she spoke to him on my phone for a min just to say hi. Awesome experience
So I know you have your own cut of H1 and H2. Have you thought about doing your own cut of the RZ Halloween movies? I think if you do the last Half of RZH1 and the first half of RZH2 it would be amazing.
I loved the list! I am a huge horror fan but I am ashamed to say that I still have not seen all the Halloween movies as I don't have access to all the movies here. I want to pick up a boxset but I have never seen one. I'll have to grab one online. I loved the ranking video and I would definitely like to see more =)
Rob Zombie´s Halloween will always have a special place in my heart. That movie made me get over my huge fear of Michael Myers. I used to be petrified of Myers until I watched that movie.
Another great video, I would have to disagree with Rob Zombie's H2 and it would be no higher than number 9 for me. I would also rank the original Halloween 2 as number 1A for me, depending on my mood it's almost better than the original for me, more scarier, just love the overall feel other than Dick Warlock needing someone to light a fire under his ass and make him walk just a little faster. But overall we almost see eye to eye with the rankings
Great list! Pretty pumped for the new one, but am I the only one to think they could've continued the story after H20? Resurrection felt more like a standalone film tbh #10: Halloween 2 (2009) #9: Halloween (2007) #8: Resurrection #7: Halloween 5 #6: H20- Agreed about the Scream vibes, but damn I loved the climax. #5: Halloween 3- super underrated, really good movie and loved the twist. #4: Halloween 2 #3: Halloween 6- Loved this movie, don't get the hate. Loved how dark it was and the score was actually really creepy too. #2: Halloween- Classic. #1: Halloween 4- Loved the action and the gore, They really stepped up their game with this one.
interesting list! mine would be from best to worst 1,2,3,4,h20 as being the best ones then 6,5 being the not so great ones and then Res, 007 and H2 being my least favorites. Don't think Zombie's movie is that horrible, it just should have been its own thing about a kid with bad up bringing turned into a killer.
I don't know if I already left my ranking in the comments of this video, but here it is: Now my ranking always changes but this my ranking for now; 11: Halloween Resurrection 10: Halloween 5 Now, these next two may be low on my list, but I do enjoy them; 9: Rob Zombie's remake #1 8: Rob Zombie's remake #2 7: Halloween 6 (theatrical) 6: Halloween H20 5: Halloween 2 4: Halloween 6 (Producer's cut) 3: Halloween 3 2: Halloween 5 1: Halloween
Great list Lee! Halloween is probably my favorite horror franchise. My list from worst to best: 10. Halloween resurrection 9. Rob zombies H 2 8. Halloween 5 7. Rob zombies Halloween 6. Halloween 3 5. Halloween 6 4. Halloween 4 3. Halloween H20 2. Halloween 2 1.Halloween
10. Halloween II (2009) 9. Halloween (2007) 8. Halloween: Resurrection 7. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers 6. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers 5. Halloween III: Season of the Witch 4. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers 3. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later 2. Halloween II (1981) 1. The One...The Only...The Classic...Halloween! Looking forward to your Child's Play 3 review! :)
I agree on 4 and the first one. I'm not fond of the Halloween 2 remake, but it reminds me of something my ex and I used to joke about when we watched Misery, when the main character types a chain of f-words in frustration. Then we used to say: "Hey, he's writing the script for the Halloween 2 remake!" :P
My ranking: 10: Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers 09: Halloween: Resurrection 08: Halloween 2 (2009) - This one I have probably as much to say good as bad, but the bad is just so outweighed to me. Very interesting movie to discuss if nothing else. 07: Halloween: H20 06: Halloween (2007) 05: Halloween 3: Season of the Witch 04: Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers 03: Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers 02: Halloween 2 (1981) 01: Halloween 1 (1978)
My personal ranking (from most favorite to least) 1. Halloween 1978 2. Halloween II 1981 3. Return 4. H20 5. Curse 6. Season of the Witch 7. Revenge 8. Halloween 2007 9. Halloween II 2009 10. Resurrection
hi dumdum we really have to give a shout out to AMC the cable channel that aired Halloween 4 on a regular basis and put the film to cult status I believe this film would have disappeared after its theatrical run but thanks to AMC people grew up watching Halloween 4 and5 this is Herbert geddies.
Halloween by John Carpenter could stand alone. If no other sequel was filmed it could end with that mystery of Loomis looking around and wondering where Myers will strike next. Just like Star Wars A New Hope, if the movie never has a sequel it would remain a classic. Great Films. I do look forward to the 2018 Halloween. Thank you Drumdums.
Great review!!! I will be subscribing to your channel.
Cody Leach - Your list is great too.
part 8 gets waaaay to much hate!!!
Although holloween Resurrection is the worst in the franchise its nothing compared to (Freddys dead, seed of chucky, and Jason takes Manhattan.)

This was a very unique ranking for the Halloween series man. I do love the fact that you are giving some personal reasons behind your choices. This blocks people from telling you that you are wrong. Great video!
Here's mine:
1 - H1
2 - H2
3 - H4
4 - H20
5 - H3
6 - H6
7 - H5
8 - RZH1
9 - HR
10 - RZH2
** I expect that I will highly enjoy H2018 so I am thinking that once I see it, it will probably be ranked at least in my top 4 but who knows!
The fact that H5 starts with the end of H4 yet Michael is wearing the H5 mask. A slight continuity error that haunts me till this day.
Definitely. Luckily it never bothered me. But other things about 5 definitely bother me.
Gilly The King 'Cause M. Myers's mask and outfits in H4 looks like sh!t.
The fact that they didn’t transition the ending of H4 into H5 is definitely one of the flaws in the series.
@Gilly The King And in H6 the mask is different once again. Doesn't really bother me though.
Surprised Rob Zombies H2 was so high on the list
Yeah I'm one of the few who absolutely loves it.
Nice list. "The curse" is super underrated.
My list looks like this.
1. Halloween '78
2. Halloween 2
3. Halloween 4 he Return of Michael Myers
4. Halloween H20
5. Halloween 6 The Curse of Michael Myers
6. Halloween 3 season of the witch
7. Halloween RZ
8. Halloween RZ II
9. Halloween 5 The revenge of Michael Myers
10. Halloween Resurrection
Worst Character: Tina from 5... Honorable Mention Busta Rhymes Resurrection
Best Character: Laurie Strode/ Jamie Leigh Curtis
Favorite Kill: Jamie in part 6.....Honorable Mention Bob form the original
Favorite Michael: Nick Castle
Best Mask: The original
Worst mask: The Return of Michael Myers
Thanks so much man. That is the ultimate compliment! Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you.
Wow man...I really appreciate the kind words. Thank you so much!
My personal ranking of my all time favorite horror franchise the Halloween Franchise: (Great video btw)
1. Halloween (1978) - A f*cking masterpiece
2. Halloween H20 - Best sequel of the franchise largely due to Jamie Lee Curtis (I agree it does have a weak score)
3. Halloween 4 - Great & legitimately chilling film, Michael Myers at his most terrifying
4. Halloween 2 (1981) - Solid sequel but the pacing isn't great
5. Halloween 3 - Solid film largely due to Tom Atkins & the concept is pretty creepy
6. Halloween 6 - Okay film with a fantastic atmosphere plus you can't go wrong with Paul Rudd & that ending is still haunting
7. Halloween (2007) - Decent film with a promising take but you can't invest in the characters & perhaps too dark
8. Halloween 5 - Pretty bad film thanks to it's poor story/structure & comedic element but the third act is good
9. Halloween Resurrection - Horrible film largely due to the awful execution of an interesting concept plus Busta Rhymes
10. Halloween II (2009) - Awful film with Michael Myers & Loomis at their worst plus the film was soulless & too dark
(The only Halloween film I hate)
Great list man. Thanks for watching!
Stay tuned!
I just started watching your videos yesterday. I’ll be digging into all of them for the next couple months. These make work fly by. THANK YOU
Awesome thank you so much man!! 👏
It's very interesting to hear other people's takes on the franchise, and the different rankings of the films. At least 1 thing that everyone seems to agree on is the fact that the original Halloween is the best. If anyone were to say different, they're not a true Halloween fan.
I would rank as follows (from best to worst):
John Carpenter's Halloween
Halloween 2 (1981)
Halloween H20
Rob Zombie's Halloween
Halloween 4
Halloween 5
Rob Zombie's Halloween 2
Halloween 6
Season of the Witch (I also don't think it should have Halloween in the title)
Halloween Resurrection
I'll come back and edit this list after this year's new Halloween comes out, if I remember. I can't wait to see it! I'm thinking (and really hoping) that it'll be the best one yet since the original.
That is one thing I love about this franchise over most...the wild rankings. I've seen Halloween 6 in the first and last position of some rankings.
Please do more ranking videos! Keep up the kickass channel man!
Dallas York Thank you Dallas!
No problem man!
Can’t wait to see your updated list when the new one comes out!
Me too! I'm already thinking about it.
Mine:
10- resurrection
9- the revenge
8- season of the witch
7- the curse
6- h2 2009 ( I love it)
5- remake( I love it too)
4- the return
3- h20
2- h 2(1981)
1- h 1 (1978)
Great video and I love these ranking videos! RZ's Halloween 2 is very underrated. I love that film! I like some parts of the underrated version, but the theatrical version is my favorite. I had a great time seeing it in theaters.
Rhine1988 I love the theatrical version as well, especially the ending!
In the beginning of Halloween 5, I always found Michael Myers floating down the river with his theme playing in the background soo unintentionally hilarious, and one of my favorite parts of the Rob Zombie Halloween was the Mask they used! great video as always dude - George
Talk Movies With Us Yeah that scene was kind of off. Loved the Tyler Mane mask (it's actually a mold of his face).
1 Halloween
2 H20
3 Halloween 2
4 Halloween 4
5 Halloween 5
After that forget it lol ;)
Sorry, forgot III, put that in 4th place!
Haha thanks!
agree 100%
Halloween 5 was HORRIBLE
Nice reviews dude. Much respect. Here's my list.
10. Rob Zombie Halloween 2
9. Halloween Resurrection
8. Rob Zombie Halloween
7. Halloween H20
6. Halloween 6 The Curse of Michael Myers
5. Halloween 5 The Revenge of Michael Myers
4. Halloween III Season of the Witch
3. Halloween II
2. Halloween 4 The Return of Michael Myers
1. Halloween 1978 🎃
Fantastic list...and thank you!
Wow interesting! I love this franchise immensely. You should definitely give it another watch!
Can we be best friends? Haha. Love the content bro
Erin Kawa Thank you!🙏
Thanks for defending Rob Zombie's H2. I love the movie. I really sticks with me even though I understand why people hate it
Oh man hell yes!!
Great vid! I don't agree with all your choices but I can understand why you made them. Just found the channel, and subbed! Keep the Halloween content coming! :D
For me:
Great
Good
Awful
The BS with his
dead mom, the white horse, and Laurie is all awful.

Awesome! Glad to see some more love for RZ H2!

Damn solid list Parker. I was hearing Iron Maiden in my head while reading it haha!
Ha! Thanks Lee! :)
Here's mine, I love watching others rank the franchise considering the new Halloween is coming out this October:
10.) Halloween II (2009)
9.) Halloween: Resurrection
8.) Halloween III: Season of the Witch
7.) Halloween (2007)
6.) Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers
5.) Halloween II (1981)
4.) Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
3.) Halloween H20
2.) Halloween (1978)
1.) Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
I would love to see your Halloween 6: The Good Edition.
Halloween 6 ranks about as high for me as it does for you. I love both cuts, aside from the final act of the Producer's.
Paul Swiers Sure man. Shoot me a dm @drumdums on Twitter, Instagram or FB.
Drumdums oh. Dope! Just followed you on Twitter. Quick follow back so I can DM? :D
Yes I'll follow back and send you a DM. What's your Twitter handle...your name?
Drumdums Ka Five / Paul. :D
Alright here’s my ranking.
1. Halloween 10/10
What more can be said
2. Halloween II 9/10
Great film but suffers by not furthering the characters and keeping it very similar to the original
3. H20 9/10
Very good film and extremely satisfying to see Laurie kick the shit out of Michael Myers
4. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers 7/10
A fine movie that has a really strong idea with a amazing ending but is held back from how much it feels like a sitcom at certain points. Also the Michael Myers mask is inexcusably bad.
5. Halloween III: Season of the Witch 7/10
Very fun and enjoyable Halloween film. Yes Michael Myers is not in it but it still has a lot of enjoyment to be found, in a cheesy way.
6. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers 6/10
I appreciate aspects of this movie and I can tolerate watching it but there are a lot of problems with the movie especially the editing and the producers cut fixes problems but also creates its own
7. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers 5/10
Boring. Slow. Awful Michael Myers mask. Terrible characters. Undoes everything the previous film set up
8. Halloween: Resurrection
4/10
Bad. Just bad. Makes Michael Myers a joke. Undoes all the genuine terror of his character by having Busta Rhymes make a fool of him.
9. Halloween II (2009)
3/10
There are parts of this film I enjoy but not only is this movie a mess, it’s exhausting. I refuse to admit that Michael Myers is in this movie because he barely wears the mask, he just looks like a Duck Dynasty reject, actually speaks (which is such a piss weak moment with him screaming DIE).
10. Halloween (2007)
1/10
Here we are. The worst of the worst. And what more can be said. Pisses on Michael Myers by showing his upbringing. Fucking boring. Terrible characters and a pointless retread of the original.
I totally agree about Halloween 6 so underrated.
Very unique list Lee, I have mad respect for you for going with your gut instead of viewing the films from a mainstream opinionated approach! Finally got around to watching all of the Halloween movies so here’s my ranking:

Love your list Jackson!
Thanks love your list to
I know I'm 4 years late to this old video, but this is still an amazing ranking. My favorite is also the Original, nothing can top it, it gave birth to one of the most iconic franchises and the most iconic horror character ever. Keep up the good work Drumdums!
Thank you Dan!
I find it amazing how this was over a year ago, when H18 was announced, and we're currently 15 days out from it. What a ride.
Brand new subscriber and im loving the content(binge watching your videos). Keep up the great work!
Thanks so much man. Will do...and welcome to Drumdums!
My list ..... Count down to #1.

Now mind u ......
Drumdums too bad we'll never see them :c
1. Halloween
2. Halloween 6 - Curse
3. Halloween 2
4. Halloween 4
5. Halloween (Zombie)
6. Halloween 2 (Zombie)
7. Halloween H20
8. Halloween 3
9. Halloween 5
10. Halloween - Resurrection
Awesome ranking!!
Haha that's a good question. Like Loomis says, he waits. Thanks for the support man!
I didn't mind those scenes, but I get what you're saying. Thanks for watching!
No problem. Keep it up! 👍🏾
Awesome list brother
My list:
1. Halloween (1978)
2. Halloween 2 (1981)
3. Halloween 4 (1988)
4. Halloween (2018)
5. Halloween 6 (1995)
6. Halloween 5 (1989)
7. Halloween: H2O (1998)
8. Halloween 3 (1982)
9. Halloween (2007)
10. Halloween: Ressurection (2002)
11. Halloween 2 (2009)
Welcome to the party Eric! I never had a problem with the 4 mask, but I get why many don't like it. It has to be lit just right.
6: H20
Huge space in between these 2
5: Halloween 2 1981
4: The Curse Of Michael Myers
3: RZ Halloween 2007 it gets too much hate
2: H2018
1: Halloween
10. Halloween II 2009
9. Halloween Resurrection
8. Halloween 2007
7. Halloween V: The Revenge of Michael Myers
6. Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Myers
Top 5
5. Halloween III: Season of the Witch
4. Halloween IV: The Return of Michael Myers
3. Halloween II 1981
2. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later
Thank you man. I'll definitely keep doing these. I'm that way with this franchise (and the Fridays) as well!
My list would probably be:
1. Halloween (1978)
2. Halloween H20
3. Halloween 4
4. Halloween II (1981)
5. Halloween III
6. Halloween 6
7. Halloween (2007)
8. Halloween 5
9. Halloween (2009)
10. Halloween Resurrection
I will say though I love my top 9 and rewatch them all regularly. Resurrection is the only one that I think is a piece of shit and find it hard to sit through.
Loved this video
i enjoyed halloween 2 1981 just as much as the original, the hospital at night was just as creepy and eerie as being in the amityville house with the shadows, sudden noises people dropping off like flies and the whole place just looked like a morgue or mausoleum and that helped with the atmosphere!

Great ranking, Lee. My ranking of this franchise is on my channel. You're going to laugh at the beginning of it.
Oh no haha! I'll have to go check it out. Didn't you post it on Killer Flicks too?
Drumdums Yes. I did. My Rings review is coming and I will share it in our group.
Yeah 6 is sooo good. I never understood the hate either.
I completely get where you are coming from. 4 does offer a lot in terms of story and feels like a meal.
So I know you have your own cut of H1 and H2. Have you thought about doing your own cut of the RZ Halloween movies? I think if you do the last Half of RZH1 and the first half of RZH2 it would be amazing.
I actually made a cut that puts the theatrical ending on the director's cut. I think that makes for the best version of the movie. Thanks!
I loved the list! I am a huge horror fan but I am ashamed to say that I still have not seen all the Halloween movies as I don't have access to all the movies here. I want to pick up a boxset but I have never seen one. I'll have to grab one online. I loved the ranking video and I would definitely like to see more =)
Yeah you definitely need to see the rest of these Dylan. It's such a great franchise!
I love these videos. You should do them more 😊
Thank you for giving part 6 it's due!
Haha you're not alone. Most hate Zombie's H2. And I actually kind of like that haha.
Great list! Pretty pumped for the new one, but am I the only one to think they could've continued the story after H20? Resurrection felt more like a standalone film tbh
#10: Halloween 2 (2009)
#9: Halloween (2007)
#8: Resurrection
#7: Halloween 5
#6: H20- Agreed about the Scream vibes, but damn I loved the climax.
#5: Halloween 3- super underrated, really good movie and loved the twist.
#4: Halloween 2
#3: Halloween 6- Loved this movie, don't get the hate. Loved how dark it was and the score was actually really creepy too.
#2: Halloween- Classic.
#1: Halloween 4- Loved the action and the gore, They really stepped up their game with this one.
I love the idea of ranking videos!
Yeah these are fun actually. Never thought I would enjoy doing them this much.
can't wait to see you doing this to Friday the 13th.
Great video. I'd love to see more rankings!
interesting list! mine would be from best to worst 1,2,3,4,h20 as being the best ones then 6,5 being the not so great ones and then Res, 007 and H2 being my least favorites. Don't think Zombie's movie is that horrible, it just should have been its own thing about a kid with bad up bringing turned into a killer.
I didn't like the young Myers parts in Rob Zombie's Halloween.
I don't know if I already left my ranking in the comments of this video, but here it is:
Now my ranking always changes but this my ranking for now;
11: Halloween Resurrection
10: Halloween 5
Now, these next two may be low on my list, but I do enjoy them;
9: Rob Zombie's remake #1
8: Rob Zombie's remake #2
7: Halloween 6 (theatrical)
6: Halloween H20
5: Halloween 2
4: Halloween 6 (Producer's cut)
3: Halloween 3
2: Halloween 5
1: Halloween
Hell yes to the more rankings lee! Enjoyed your list. I'd have to give it some thought, except 1 and 10 are easy.
Yeah the middle are always muddy for me. Will definitely be doing more of these Jack.
Best to worst:
1. Halloween (1978)
2. Halloween 4
3. Halloween 2 (1981)

My ranking:
10: Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
09: Halloween: Resurrection
08: Halloween 2 (2009) - This one I have probably as much to say good as bad, but the bad is just so outweighed to me. Very interesting movie to discuss if nothing else.

hi dumdum we really have to give a shout out to AMC the cable channel that aired Halloween 4 on a regular basis and put the film to cult status I believe this film would have disappeared after its theatrical run but thanks to AMC people grew up watching Halloween 4 and5 this is Herbert geddies.
What’s going on Lee... You got me using Letterbox now... such a fun app.. thanx bud
Yeah Letterboxd is awesome!
Completely agree Richard...and thanks for watching.
