    Always learn something from your vids! Excellent demo, and I did the same - put the RWS side-by-side and saw quickly that the same concepts were there, just portrayed in another way. I always love it when something makes me see the cards in a different way and with expanded meanings! You are always so good about demonstrating how you use your decks, rather than just doing a walk-through and that's the end of it. I'm sure other readers who have this deck will be happy to see this video!

      I am so glad you enjoyed it! I agree, my favorite decks are often the ones that encourage me to look at the cards in a different way and step outside my comfort-zone. I am (slowly) working on trying to share more in-depth about the working decks in my collection. I always like to see how other people use their decks so I thought it might be helpful to also share how I use mine. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

      While Dawn Michelle was talking about breaking the idea of a linear mindset when it comes to the Major Arcana/Transcendence I found myself wondering if maybe as we go through life we find that journey completed in different aspects. So that life is made up of these cycles. And we're never in the same place within those cycles. You could go as literal as relationships/work/money/family harmony/creative dreams with each of these representing a cycle that's summarized by the Majors as we aim for The World (transcendence). But my mind went to a psychological translation (since I'm doing Jungian shadow work) of each cycle being a struggle/trigger/stressor that we're trying to overcome. Some of those cycles I completed at different times in my past and I've come to recognize and accept them, I've healed and found peace. Some of those I'm in the active process of working on. And some will be in my future.

    This tarot deck never really appealed to me apart from the packaging. And now I'm happy and motivated to watch the whole thing again. Thank you very much. I like that you don't have a dogmatic view about card interpretation. As you say, everyone reacts differently to the images and symbolic language. When it comes to the creation of the RWT, one also have to take into account the time at which it was created. It always amazes me when spiritual people make judgments about others. As soon as religion or male energy triggers me, I don't have to devalue it but ask myself where my judgment comes from. I will definitely check out your posts on the RUclips channel and see what helps me. Thanks.

    I stumbled upon this video today, quite by accident, but I'm so grateful to have found it. I fell in love with The Witches Wisdom deck a few years back & bought it immediately. But I've struggled to connect with it, & use it, despite many attempts. As soon as you suggested ignoring the numbers, I was able to move forward & to use it and with great effect. Thank you for this! I also LOVED the idea of writing up a bit of a journal on the deck, with comparisons to the more traditional RW Deck, and key pieces of wisdom from the incredible wisdom within this deck.

    I’ve only had this deck for a week and find it reading more like an oracle deck than tarot. I love the concept that divine spirit is right here on earth in all of nature. We can become enlightened by living life in harmony with and reverence for all beings/nature -not waiting until we die (hope I explained that right).

    This is such interesting insight into this deck and one way to work with it/learn it. I have been looking at this deck for a few months and am going to head out today to purchase it. I read tarot very intuitively, while still using a loose structure of tarot system….which I know is unusual but it is how I’ve approached the tarot in general for years. I am working my way back and I realize I am late to comment, haha. BUT I love the Witches Wisdom because it is a new perspective on the RWS structure. I do not think that it is meant to be read from Fool to World, even if that is what you are comfortable with. Of course you could, it's your practice! But it is a challenge on structure and norm and I really cherish that about this deck. It taught me that sometimes it seems like I am stepping backwards in my journey, but really we can approach our path from both ways.

    Just a piece of info, the "Father's heaven and Mother's womb" is actually more of a pagan thing than a Christian one. Many belief systems with multiple dieties use "Father Sky, Mother Earth" references so for me I get the intention of the phrase. Words may not have been chosen well.

    I truly enjoy the Witches Wisdom tarot. I use it for personal readings as well as for clients.
    It's one of the few decks that I feel has a natural connection to Mother Earth and I use it for my wheel of the year and sabbat readings.
    Also, my small working deck collection is becoming more "non-system influenced" and moving away from the RWS influenced decks.
    This has truly expanded the way I work with the tarot.
    I can bypass the numbers and just focus on the energy of each card.
    But I believe the numbering was left to make the deck accessible for those who are versed in the RWS so the individual can cross over that knowledge with the Witches Wisdom.
    Thank you for sharing this video, Michelle. 😊🌹✨🕯

    I love the book with this deck and the artwork and finish of the cards is GORGEOUS, but I find the large size of the cards, combined with the number of cards in a tarot to be utterly unshuffleable. (Which, shuffling is a big and important part of my practice in tarot) so I have just been able to use them for pathworking.
    I wish she would come out with a pocket size like Dreams of Gaia did so that I can actually use the deck as a deck because you can’t really trim the sides down to make them more narrow to shuffle more comfortably.

    I'm a newbie, having one year of experience in tarot card reading. Should I buy this deck or not? I'm not a Christian I am Hindu.
    There are so many references in tarot card reading that I connect with Hinduism.
    The judgement card for me represents the Krishna's energy in Geeta/Mahabharata when Krishna gave the knowledge of life and spirituality and that knowledge is uplifting everyone's soul ( people coming out from grave, representing people realising that their is life beyond relations, attachments and materialism)
    I will buy this deck for sure and will do my study.
    Mam, your video was really helpful thankyou.
    Tarot represents life journey.
    10 of swords represents= Bheeshm pitama in battlefield
    Tower- draupadi's rape attempt in front of the court
    Death- The end of the war
    And many many many references 😭😭

    Morning. Thank you for sharing your way of dealing with the Major Arcana of the Witches Wisdom. I was a quarter way through when I put my belief system to the test. This is my way of thinking. I look at the so called progression from the Magician all the way to the World/Universe as a time relating to one life. Hopefully there is a certain wisdom one gains. I see the reverse order of the Major Arcana as the more enlightened soul now going back to Earth to try again perhaps. What he needs to do en route, is disconnect with all the issues that he dealt with in that life and withdraw all the ties so he can start fresh again in a new life. So for me this deck is really one up in understanding. I think this deck will be useful when clearing past life issues. Did you know that the Ancestral Tarot reverses the typical hierarchical structure of the Minor Arcana number cards? #10 comes after the Page/Princess and ends with the Ace. Aces symbolise the raw elemental power of each suit.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 года назад

      That is a really fascinating way to look at the journey... I really like that! Thank you so much for sharing your insights, I always love how I get to learn new things with each video too. You see more of the "progressing to the male godhead" thing if you work with the Qabala and the tree of life along with the tarot, and that stuff kind of peeves me -- how you're supposed to be "ascending," and working any other way is relegated to the "left-hand" or "sinister" path, which of course is associated with the female. Personally, I view it like you do -- life is messy, and the path is rarely linear. I also figure that we are simultaneously a human having a spiritual experience (desiring to move upward) and a spirit having a human experience (and which wants to experience the "lower" portions of the tree.) I do find it refreshing to view the majors as individual experiences, not necessarily as the "standard path," because I think that's how life is.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 года назад

      I agree, life just really isn't that simple and nothing ever follows a clear path. I love the way you described the human experience being both spiritual and mundane, that's totally how I see it too. It's so interesting to dive deep into these decks and see what emerges. If I did it again in another month or two, I'd pick up on other things, which is so cool to me. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    She doesn't go backwards for the major arcana, but Rachel Pollack, in Seventy-Eight Degrees of Wisdom, presents her meditations on the minor arcana in reverse order -- from King, Queen, Knight, Page 10 through 1. I always struggle with that presentation.

    i have been watching for this deck to be reviewed, more than just walked through (though those are also valuable in their own ways!) and you shared some great insight; i struggle with the re-numbering of the majors, basically because i am just getting to understand the connexion *numerologically* between the majors and minors, and trying to learn this deck at the same time, so "ignore the numbers on the majors" is way better than my idea of taking a sharpie and adding numerals after the name! one thing tho' after *lots* of contemplation, and reading the guidebook, i thought in the shapeshifters (courts) the goddesses are queen energy, and the craftsmen, kings...any thoughts? also, are there any other videos you think go a little deeper with this deck? you kinda mentioned that there are, but i kinda only find unboxings, which are great, but i am looking to "compare notes" as it were...anyway, thanks again, love your videos

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  3 года назад

      I'd have to double check on the queens and kings, because I haven't really used the deck in the "proper" way for some time. I thought the Goddesses were listed as the highest elevation of the suit, but I can't remember now that they associated that with King or Queen. In some decks, the Queen is placed above the King, so that could be the case as well. In my practice, I see them as being equals, representing the duality of completion and elevation, but that's just me. :) There is a good video with the deck author where she talks about creating the deck that is really good. That's the one that comes to mind at the moment. In some of the walkthroughs, I've seen people give their thoughts on the cards, but I don't recall if that was before they started working with it or after. Sorry, I don't feel I was much help there! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    I bought this but idk why i hate the energy i get every time i use them. They feel judging and mean which is a shame cause they are so beautiful and unique

      I can understand that, I’ve had decks where the energy just doesn’t feel right to me too. Usually they go find another home.

    Could you try whiting out the numbers?

      I could try whiting them out, not sure if it would eventually chip off as you work with them, but that might be worth a try just to see. Thank you for the suggestion! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    Love your journal. Curious about your process for getting lovely color reproductions of the cards in the journal- and they vary in size. Do you have a video that goes over this? Wondering if you have a fancy color copy machine and also if you paste the images into a store bought journal. The result is lovely.. thanks

      The short answer is, I pop them onto my color copier/printer and I print a copy of them (sometimes reducing the size to make them smaller so they fit better on my journal pages. I do talk about in my 3-part video series on "How to Start a Tarot Journal" there should be a playlist for that. I think it might have been in the second video, but to be honest, I don't remember now. I do hope that helps! 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    Hi, Dawn. Thank you for a frank and very informative review. I just found you and I have already purchased this set from the same Amazon location that you refer to here. I was excited to learn about the deck from a more advanced Tarot reader, Dawn. However, after paying a great deal for the deck, I was shocked to see how different and lovely your guide book is. Unfortunately, my book looks nothing like yours. It's all plain typeface, like a textbook. The personal writing style seems to have been deleted. It has no page marker and the corners are squared not rounded. A very cheap looking product, which disillusioned me. Is it possible that I received a knock off of this deck?

      I think they did a new edition not too long ago and the book and deck was changed I do believe. I don’t have the newer version so I’m not sure what the changes actually were. It’s too bad if they changed the book, it was lovely before.

    Girl omg this video gave me life watching it!!! I’m quite curious what method you use to read tarot because you’ve mentioned that you don’t follow The Golden Dawn system, at least in a superficial form… I’m not sure about astrologically, Kabbalistically or alchemically speaking though because I tend to individualize the different systems depending on what kind of reading I’m doing anyway so as not to confuse myself, at this point in my tarot learning process I’m 100% not ready to combine all these associations 😂😂😂😂

      I've kinda developed my own little way of reading which is based on a process that was passed down through a friend's family and then layered with years of study and sprinkled with a bit of tradition and my own understandings and intuition. I am working on a video series on it (as well as a book!) So hopefully I'll be able to share that in the near future. 🙂 Thank you for watching! ❤️

    where did you get the small cards for your journal? did you copy and print at home?

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  Год назад +1

      Yeah, I just scan them into my computer, resize and print them. :) I've seen other people use one of those mini printers like the cannon ivy to print them as well which seems to work really well.

    Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’m curious, though. You say that you don’t really read in a RWS manner and yet … you were unable to connect with and read Witches Wisdom until you aligned it with RWS. Could you say more about that? It seems contradictory.

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  2 года назад +1

      That would probably take a whole other video. 🙂 But the short answer was I wanted to understand why they chose to change the system and to do that I had to first compare it to the RWS. It wasn't so much a reading it in terms of RWS as it was comparing it to the traditional system. I read it more like an oracle now, but at least I feel like I got better sense of the structure. I hope that helps!
      🙂 Thank you for watching. ❤️
