I think the compartment for the cards is that bit bigger then the cards is because when you put the cards in the bag that they came with you could put them in the bag then in the box still and they fit snug. That’s how mine are kept. Thanks for the comparison ❤️
How odd that Hay House didn't make the cards smaller. FYI: I think the reason the cutout part of the box in the original deluxe edition is larger than the cards is that's where the folded tarot bag was placed at shipment. I have the deluxe edition and I also love the book. But this second one . . . I kind of don't get it. Thank you very much for the walk-through, Simon.
I think its nice to have smaller boxes as I have so many decks. However, if I only had a fjew, I would prefer to have the bigger book as that would be more comfortable for my eyes and better to hold while reading. 😊 Thank you for sharing ❤
I must admit I’m a tad disappointed as I had interpreted ‘standard edition’ to mean more poker - sized cards..I’m a great fan of the current trend for releasing smaller sized decks and had hovered over ordering this new edition as a 2nd copy for myself as easier to handle and therefore I might have used them more regularly. Hey ho! No need to order this pack.Thanks for the review ( I’ve saved some money!)
You are smarter than me .. I saw the words ‘standard deck size ‘ and bought it. It arrived 2 days ago and I now have 2 identically sized copies , both awkward for me to handle. Despite the size I still love this deck , it will be around forever I hope.
Im happy i have the first edition. I love the texture of the guidebook and extra art you get on the inside cover. And i loved the bag it came with also. The deck stands out as unique with the reordered majors and the first edition respects that with its packaging Idk i love the original version. I love the book and bag and the convenience of being able to keep it in the bag in the box for travel. 😊
Thank you for the video. It's such a disappointment😢 - I hoped the cardstock and the size will be finally changed... I love this deck, but I dreamed of having it printed on smaller and more flexible cardstock, which would make it easier to riffle-shuffle... Can't understand why they called it "portable"😕😢...

Oh Wow!!! I wouldn’t have purchased the new deck if they had been truthful about the deck was the same as the first edition. I already have two first edition decks and now a third identical deck. I don’t love my decks anyless♥️♥️

But glad to know that they are the same size and that only the book is smaller. Just stick to my first edition then. 😊

Hello , finally , after at least 7 years ! And thanks a billion for everything during that time . I’m actually feeling somewhat deceived by Amazon , who described this new deck as ‘standard deck size ‘. I now have 2 identically sized decks . The reason I bought the new edition was that I found the first edition cumbersome to handle ! How about a third edition in manageable size ?
I didn't even know they'd come out with a different one! The original Witches' Wisdom is my only Tarot deck. I just love it. Every year, starting in December, I do a journey through it. I love the original box for fitting the bag that comes with it. I'll stick with my larger version, though I am pleased to see they kept all the text for the smaller one. Sometimes the text gets trimmed down when they change the size of a book. I also think it's great they keep the cards the same size because it really is great to have a bigger card for such beautiful artwork. Thanks Simon! (Tell me more about this tea you're drinking! In the 1st edition I got a cloth embroidered bag. That fills up the space in the inside box.

Did your larger version not come with a Draw string bag? I believe the whole as larger to fit the bag.

This is the first one I’ve had, but I did pick up some Yule tea as well, which I’m looking forward to trying.
