i was 4 when i went to Vilseck in 2011. fast forward to 2021, I'm starting to get a plan to go back to someplace in Germany. I live in the states currently. I went to Vilseck due to my father being in the Army ( I don't know why I had to go to Germany, but I loved it) 10/10 would travel again, as a native to the united states!

I was stationed in Schweinfurt but went to Graf/Vilseck often for training/field. To this day I still travel to Germany at least twice a year, I just can't get enough lol. I was last in Germany in July 2021 and my family and I wi be visiting in the near future. I love it there in Germany. I have a channel about Germany as well and I love to post my travels :). Hello Jamie! We are PCSing there in March I’m so nervous but excited 😁 I have a quick question do you recommend to take a US vehicle or purchasing one overseas?
As long as it’s not a super super huge truck I would take your vehicle with you, at least one. You can’t really buy new in Germany unless you plan to sell it again before you leave because the cars are German specs, of course you can buy from local military dealers that sell American spec cars, but I feel they aren’t the best option as you’re limited on shopping around. if you need a new car it’s not terrible to buy here (we did) but I wouldn’t sell a new car to buy a new car here. Hope that makes sense.
@@cynthiacontreras3299 You don’t get a European license, you get a USAREUR (us army Europe, you’ll hear this acronym a lot) license. It’s a little time consuming but it’s a 400 Q pretest and a 100 Q test and you take the certificate to the DMV on post. It all happens during in-processing, but I would take your tests the week prior to coming or while in quarantine. No sooner than 30 days before you’ll get to the DMV. And you need a valid US license. ☺️
Are you sure that those cats are strays? I'm from the Netherlands and Germany is pretty similar in culture. Most people just let their cats walk outside on their own whenever the cats want to go outside. I think I even saw a collar on that last cat.
And the black and white one is far too well fed to be a stray. We have very good animal shelters and care set up here. And in the Netherlands, we hardly have any stray cats at all. But yes, you will see some house cats outside.
I believe when I filmed this we were in lockdown so playing on playgrounds and things were forbidden. It’s a quiet city but anyone the military is, plenty of children are sure to be. 😊
Taxis are so expensive in the area but their are definitely services available. However most things are in walking distance and the train station is in Vilseck. 😊

It's so pretty there, I love all the Fall trees. I don't know how I'd adapt to living outside of the states 😳 Those croissants looked so good! 😂
