If you watched this video and purchased Prudential at $102, you now have a stock at $78. Key Corp is now at $12. Now is a better time to buy those stocks then when this video came out.
@@graceypatrick Point seems pretty obvious as he stated. Prudential is a better buy now. It's now yielding 6.22% compared to 4.8% a couple months ago. Key is now paying 8%. Simple fact, they are a better guy now than they were 2 months ago.
I would not buy KEY stock: The price has been in the same range in the last few years, and it is a bank institution! Do you think it will be in business in the next 10 years? I rather invest in Chase Bank instead. Bigger and more secure.
I sold PRU at around 100 $ a while ago and returned at 79 $ yesterday. It still may go further down but a dividend return of >6.3% on entry price sweetens the wait.

I hold the following ETFs: SCHD, VTV, XLK, and IYW +15-20 supplementary stocks like PEP, UPS, AEP, DVN, MDT, etc in 2 Roth IRAs (mine & wife's). I currently have about have about 35% in ETFs & 60% in stocks. I have about $1000 in cash in one of the Roth accounts. I'm trying to decide whether to buy more of one of my current ETFs, OR add something new (specifically) VYM or NOBL OR PG or KO. I plan on building on these securities when I am able to add to our 2024 contributions. Question: if I decide to add a security what do you see as a more positive play: VYM or NOBL OR PG or KO.)?
I've got PRU and MAIN, add to PRU whenever it gets below $90. MAIN under $35. KEY has been on my watch list for a long time, too. I don't invest in broad market funds that hold Exxon, still haven't forgiven them for Valdez. I'd put ABBV on the list, but not at the current price, MO too, though I have covered calls on all my MO shares and likely won't replace them if they get called away, just take the profit and run. Thanks for all your educational videos.
@@Nemo-yn1sp It was complicated, but Exxon did such a great job cleaning up and paying all private claims that a judge cut the original 250 million fine to 125 million. They were then sued by the U.S. government and fined a record 2.5 Billion, which a higher court called excessive and was cut to 500 million. Tobacco has certainly been fined and sued. In Illinois where I live we used the money on smoking cessation programs and health care. If you have ever had a loved one die on lung cancer...well enough said. Money doesn't really help. Then of course we turn around and legalize smoking marijuana, thus encouraging the behavior we tried to stop with our wad from tobacco. Mind you I am not a fan of Big Oil, but I consider Big Oil and Tobacco to be exhibits 1 and 1A in the category of STEWPUD. I will suggest to you and Mr. Bow-tied that there are much better places to get a few bucks a quarter from dividends.

Going to check out Prudential and Key corp. Prudential I know has been around a very long time and should have a great deal of assets/cash, how that translates to investors and gains I'll have to put on my thinking cap. 🧢 I have only begun to dip my toes into the stock pool, the low end. You must have recorded this a while ago. $PRU is down around $95 and I have been buying more. Thanks for sharing $KEY and I may buy some shares. Not a fan of $MAIN right now. I bought $EMN back in October and looking for a similar dip to buy more.
I heard that REITs are working little bit differently. I mean they have to pay out +90% of profit to shareholders and they collect money from share issue. Could you confirm?
REITs payout just like CEFs, BDCs and MLPs. But, they are different in several ways. First, dividends are taxed as ordinary income is. Never qualified income (tax advantaged rates). There are about 15 or so styles of REITs. And each style can have advantages and disadvantages. Examples are mortgage REITs, triple net lease REITs, land REITs, storage REITs, industrial REITs, etc. Because the disbursement is taxed at your ordinary income rate, they are better held in a tax-advantaged account. EPS is a useless gauge to measure a REIT's value or worth because of the amount of borrowing that takes place. The best metrics to use are P/BV and FFO (or AFFO) [price to book value and funds from operation {or adjusted funds from operation}. These metrics will require you to do a little more reading and digging into just what the company does and how they do it to get a grasp of it.

I'm definitely going to be looking into NOBL and comparing it to some of the other etfs in my Ira account might have to either replace something with it or just add it to that portfolio
@TRAVIS411 I have schd in all 5 of my accounts I'm thinking add that and get rid of voo or qqq in my Ira account I only carry index funds for the ira account
@@geraldwilson727 check if NOBL has many of the SCHD (i.e. if you were to buy NOBL would you be getting x% of same stuff--now see expense ratio); plus does NOBL ever gives you a K-1 (not necessarily bad - just more cost to your CPA or a little pain for you)
@TRAVIS411 that was what I was thinking of doing tonight do a deep dig into all the holdings within the company and doing the comparisons between them and voo
NOBL does have a higher than normal expense ratio for investing in an 'index' of sorts. I prefer to go with just the top 4 or 5 to get a better return. Remember, even the Aristocrats have fair, good, very good and best dividend payers. The 'fair' and 'good' will pull the overall payout down.
I just can’t dump my money into one company anymore. I prefer JEPI, SCHD, SCHG, DGRO, VYM, and so many others that diversify amongst many other companies. Long time ago I got burned on, SEARS, Kmart so just not willing to risk that again.
Should never have less than 10 stocks of individual companies (or about 5-7% of portfolio in each). Just too much risk tied up in a single company. Even good companies have bad things happen.
