So in average I was getting 80 dollars or so every quarter which didn't cover all bills but paid half of them ( I live in a low cost nation )
I don’t see how dividend investing makes sense. Taxes are higher and returns are lower. Why not just get an index fund and have it automatically pay you X% each month? With a ~2% advantage, you’d make about 2.5-3X. What am I missing?

Careful with ETNs...also oil shares get enough income already by themselves, no need to also sell covered calls on them. I think MSFT, QQQ, or AAPL or more befitting of selling covered calls, as they have already gone through meteoric rises post-pandemic and may now be more steady growers that pay lower dividends. You can greatly increase the "yield" from them by buying to sell covered calls.
On thing I don't understand, unless it is pure speculation the earnings are going up by huge amounts very soon, EPS 2.51. Forward dividend 4.26. This is not sustainable. The company can not continue to pay out more than it earns. WPC is recommended? Why? NRG on the other hand earns more than it pays out. However a view of the 5 year chart shows the company stock price is not growing, Price is near what it was 5 years ago. Dividend payments can be lost to inflation in stock value not growing. Price 4 years ago was over $40 per share. It should be up by 30%, not down. No dividend cuts I found is an indicator of low dividends. 3% is fine, but taking 10% that has been cut in half and then grows with market recovery is preferred to a low rate. Yes, it is safe, but low. There are no "Safe" high yield double digit dividends. Example, bought WES in April 2020. price was way down. Due to low price yield was over 20%. They cut the dividend in half. I'll take over 5$ over the non cut 3% any day. Oil prices are back, stock value is back, and dividends are almost back to pre cut levels. Yield on cost at $2 forward yield is 36.9% on my purchase price. This is how I am getting my $1000/month in dividends. Naturally have been investing in other stocks when the price and often dividends are cut, only to ride the recovery back up. Currently buying cargo container shipping company stocks. P/E on many are under 1 and may result in high double digit dividends in a couple of years. Worth the gamble to find out. WES paid out. Paid $5.42. XOM paid out. Paid $39.11. PAA paid out. Yield over 8%. paid $10.94 last year. Why are you recommending FCX at this time. A look at the 5 year chart and max chart shows the stock has gone through several bubbles and is now double tapping the top again. If I had it, it would be on a stop loss sale order the same as I sold Intel in 2020 for $62.75. With the price history, it is only buy and hold if bought in the dip, not the peak. Amazon is way over value. The future growth is already baked into the price. I don't buy stocks that have a high price for the earnings as they are subject to market corrections and don't pay dividends because they can't. A P/E near 10 is where I stop buying. A P/E near 20 is seriously put on sale or a stop loss sale order. With that scale, Amazon blows off the chart at a P/E of 90.. Outer space overvalued. Too risky for a serious market correction and sell off. There are no dividends to fall back on. Price is purely up on speculation and nothing else. SOFI is in the middle of the student loan debt crisis. due to defaults, the EPS is negative. For a recommended stock, why is one with a negative EPS even on the list? Price is down as the student loan business is in trouble.

Solution to those "milions needed to live off of dividends" is, stop investing into pathetic SCHD and invest into higher yielding stocks. I just can't wrap my head around y'all buying some lame 2% yield stocks. Get some OXLC, ACRE, BBDC, etc. then you won't need 1 million but only $300.000.

In my experience, fear can take control if waiting too long to set investment goals, but that should go away once you set the plan into motion.

I don’t see how dividend investing makes sense. Taxes are higher and returns are lower. Why not just get an index fund and have it automatically pay you X% each month? With a ~2% advantage, you’d make about 2.5-3X.

What is your opinion on Credit Suisse Crude Oil Shares Covered Call ETN (USOI)?
Careful with ETNs...also oil shares get enough income already by themselves, no need to also sell covered calls on them. I think MSFT, QQQ, or AAPL or more befitting of selling covered calls, as they have already gone through meteoric rises post-pandemic and may now be more steady growers that pay lower dividends. You can greatly increase the "yield" from them by buying to sell covered calls.
On thing I don't understand, unless it is pure speculation the earnings are going up by huge amounts very soon, EPS 2.51. Forward dividend 4.26. This is not sustainable. The company can not continue to pay out more than it earns. WPC is recommended? Why? NRG on the other hand earns more than it pays out. However a view of the 5 year chart shows the company stock price is not growing, Price is near what it was 5 years ago. Dividend payments can be lost to inflation in stock value not growing. Price 4 years ago was over $40 per share. It should be up by 30%, not down.
No dividend cuts I found is an indicator of low dividends. 3% is fine, but taking 10% that has been cut in half and then grows with market recovery is preferred to a low rate. Yes, it is safe, but low. There are no "Safe" high yield double digit dividends. Example, bought WES in April 2020. price was way down. Due to low price yield was over 20%. They cut the dividend in half. I'll take over 5$ over the non cut 3% any day. Oil prices are back, stock value is back, and dividends are almost back to pre cut levels. Yield on cost at $2 forward yield is 36.9% on my purchase price. This is how I am getting my $1000/month in dividends. Naturally have been investing in other stocks when the price and often dividends are cut, only to ride the recovery back up. Currently buying cargo container shipping company stocks. P/E on many are under 1 and may result in high double digit dividends in a couple of years. Worth the gamble to find out. WES paid out. Paid $5.42. XOM paid out. Paid $39.11. PAA paid out. Yield over 8%. paid $10.94 last year.
Why are you recommending FCX at this time. A look at the 5 year chart and max chart shows the stock has gone through several bubbles and is now double tapping the top again. If I had it, it would be on a stop loss sale order the same as I sold Intel in 2020 for $62.75. With the price history, it is only buy and hold if bought in the dip, not the peak.
Amazon is way over value. The future growth is already baked into the price. I don't buy stocks that have a high price for the earnings as they are subject to market corrections and don't pay dividends because they can't. A P/E near 10 is where I stop buying. A P/E near 20 is seriously put on sale or a stop loss sale order. With that scale, Amazon blows off the chart at a P/E of 90.. Outer space overvalued. Too risky for a serious market correction and sell off. There are no dividends to fall back on. Price is purely up on speculation and nothing else.
SOFI is in the middle of the student loan debt crisis. due to defaults, the EPS is negative. For a recommended stock, why is one with a negative EPS even on the list? Price is down as the student loan business is in trouble.
I'm DCAing in AWC100T as well. ETH heavier DCA and ALGO. I'm taking your advice and starting Google tomorrow with a 50 dollar purchase and continuing Microsoft and Apple. VTI and VOO on another app and longterm portfolio. Here we go family!

Solution to those "milions needed to live off of dividends" is, stop investing into pathetic SCHD and invest into higher yielding stocks. I just can't wrap my head around y'all buying some lame 2% yield stocks. Get some OXLC, ACRE, BBDC, etc. then you won't need 1 million but only $300.000.
