I am a relative beginner and currently have a Yamaha FS830 (acoustic) and a Fender Strat (electric). I am now in the market for an acoustic-electric and am considering a Taylor 214ce or similar. Do you have a recommendation and have you done any reviews of acoustic amps, and is there an amp you might recommend?
I only bought one used guitar, and it happened to be an electro-acoustic Ibanez. Bought it 3 years ago, and it's still my number one guitar, and my favorite guitar ever. Never had any problems with it, I did the setup and thrust rod adjustment myself. I play it a lot. I really recommend buying a used guitar, of course I was lucky, but to be honest, if you can hold the guitar in your hands before you buy, there is a big chance you will be able to decide whether it's in good shape or not. And you don't really need to be a pro to tell, just follow this wonderful video above.
Just bought a Yamaha c40 a couple of weeks ago on your recommendation and that of my brother who works in a music store. I love it. Thank you. And God bless.
Great tips! It's definitely best to play before you buy if possible, and to bring along an experienced guitarist/luthier. Subbed and looking forward to more :)
I`ve heard that we have to play an acoustic guitar regularly in order to keep it stable ,the other problem is the whole neck becoming unaligned with the body ,with a Fender electric a shim or micro tilt can solve the problem but with glued in necks they have to be removed and re aligned especially on older guitar ?.
Hey thank you the info is very useful. Can you advise other specific dealers of guitars apart from eBay, Alibaba, or Amazon. I really want Japanese second hand acoustic guitars..
Thank you for the video! So is it normal when the sadle is tilted a bit? (Not parallel to the edge of the sadle) Also what the distance between the strings and the frets is considered to be good? I am considering getting a guitar from Craigslist (Oscar Schmidt guitar OG2SM - $185 new with tas although the seller refused to send any photos which is strange imo, he only had some from the store showinh 2 different look). I liked the color :)) but did not find a proper video with a demo of that model. Also among more affordable good quality guitars I liked the sound of classical Yamaha cg142s from a few YT videos. But it is cad$399 + tax in a local store without a case and any accessories.
So hard to wait to buy the guitar. I don't know anything about guitars though and it's not for me, it's for my son. I found a fender 12 string that looks great according to your criteria but I want someone to look at it that knows guitars and that's the problem I have to wait till tomorrow. I hope he doesn't sell it.
@@chevy4x466ended up buying a Furch vintage 2 dreadnought. Most amazing sounding acoustic I've ever played. About halfway between a nice Taylor and Martin D28 if I remember my numbers correctly. Pricey but certain was no compromise

Im buying a used guitar you think i have money to have someone tell me its good when you literally listed what to look for yourself than why do you need someone tell you its good when you took the time to learn yourself its not hard its a guitar not rocket science
I am considering buying our family a guitar. I can’t justify $1000 for a Chinese guitar with a fancy name. I want an instrument produced by craftsman in the facility that made the brand famous. I don’t mind spending $1000 on a great used guitar. Now if u r trying to score something for a couple hundred bucks, than I get ur poiint
Question of the Day: What acoustic guitar are you interested in buying?

... I'm assuming we pay the luthier for his or her service -as apposed to just their advice about the condition of the instrument..!?!
You forgot to check the headstock

Hi, I'm going to buy a used guitar which its fretboard is kind of dry and has some fade-away color...do you think I should get it? Thank you!
I am not sure. Do you have a luthier in your area that could look at it for you? Thank you for watching and commenting!

Driving an hour to look at a Tacoma DM9 for $565. Solid wood dreadnaught
Did u buy it?

DO NOT BUY unless you can play it first!
I agree. Hold it in your hands, play it for about an hour, take your time... Very important.
But I am buying the guitar to learn how to play…a real catch 22 situation we have on our hands
