Ben I have to say I really love your sim racing content especially your commentary that makes watching sim races on RUclips not boring lol, looking forward to seeing ou driving the GR86 on iracing and keep up the good work!
This is an outstanding demonstration of why it's useful and important for your own enjoyment to remain calm and just get back into it after an ungentlemanly knock, push or squeeze. Because you *can* still have a nice, challenging and enjoyable race if the damage to your car isn't too severe. Great commentary, too! Just all around superb viewing, this video.
Ah thank you buddy - really appreciate that. And totally agree. It doesn't always work out but it's always worth keeping going. You never know what will happen in online lobbies!!
I’m making the switch to pc sim racing from console soon and i have to say that your videos on games like raceroom and iracing have played a massive part in that. Keep up the great work and wish me luck!
That’s great to hear and delighted to have played a small part in encouraging you to make the switch! Good luck with it and always feel free to drop me a comment on YT if I can help with anything 👍
Great race Ben. Last corner position gains are the best 😂 I hadn't been on Raceroom for a while, but had a few races online last night. Great to see some fairly packed grids again.
always amazing content Ben! thanks for popping into my stream yesterday! Been having some amazing races at Monza this week in the GT4's... try and get yourself into one before schedule changes!
I felt your pain at the beginning of the race, when you were taken out and fell to the back of the field (been there myself on a number of occasions), but the never say die attitude was rewarded at the end. well done!
Nice Drive! Sometimes the races where you need to recover are the most fun. Maybe because you can overtake so many cars and overtaking always feels good. :D
@@Ben_LaBroca you're welcome! It embodied the spirit of why I'm interested in Sim Racing. Technique, respect for other drivers and just good spirited driving. For a beginner such as myself, what's the best route to take to get better over time.
@@black_n5492 yeah you’ve nailed it there in terms of why I race too! It’s a tricky one to say re improving. I’ve done a few vids on my journey and some racecraft ones but I think everyone is different really. I found just getting on the ranked servers regularly and learning from the good bad and ugly was important. Due to time constraints I never alter setups and skip between cars and sims quite a bit, which I think has meant I’m able to drive whatever’s infront of me to an acceptable level (at the cost of not being super quick in anything!) So I guess it’s all about what you want to get stuck in to and how to make sure you keep enjoying it. Give a shout on YT if ever I can help with anything.
@@Ben_LaBroca sounds like we have a similar approach. Time is the biggest constraint for me so I think I'll try the ranked servers approach and just get better by getting seat time while training the fundamentals in between. So far I've tried AC ( horrible online) and AMS2. Which sim would you recommend for that kind of work your way through the ranks as a beginner approach? Budget isn't an issue so much as enjoying the time I have in the seat and driving with people who have at least some sort of decorum on track
@@black_n5492 So I cut my teeth in RaceRoom then went on to iracing after six months or so and then ran both for a long while. Great variety and always a ranked server open at the random time my baby daughter allowed me to race!! Can never guarantee driving standards but the rating and safety systems of them both mean most drivers don’t just dive in everywhere.
Great race Ben, you were very lucky there with the head on crash after the start, something similar destroyed my engine and I had to quit, great comeback mate! 😎👍🏻
Great Video. I like to Race this BMW down the GP track. But I have a Problem with my FL tire, its get to much heat... What kind of HUD do you use? Looks great
Great video Ben! Your videos have been very good lately, you can definitely tell a nice story with the edits. And the BMWs make for great racing in RaceRoom. How do you think they compare with the ACC version of the car?
I have being playing raceroom for se years but gave up on it some months ago. I just got it back this week and i feel it handles and look much better than before. The car feel is much more intuitive. I just seen it had a recent upgrade. Trying also rf2 races on LFM but the game crashes to desktop sometimes and that just cut the flow of going up the ladder on lfm. Back to Raceroom for now ;)
Raceroom has been gathering dust on my PC, this makes me wanna look at these rookie servers. Im wondering who the winner S.Euser was, son of Dutch racing legend Cor Euser perhaps? (Quite uncommon name in Holland, so may be so)
The same thing happened to me in the BMW when I was taken out at the same corner on the first lap but unfortunately for me I wasn’t able to continue & lost a huge amount of ranking points.
The HUD thats on the screen when he's driving is called OtterHud. Its a third party add on that RaceRoom themselves recommend alongside using Crew Chief. I use it myself and its miles better than the standard hud within RaceRoom as its fully customizable.
Hey buddy - the HUD is a third party app called OtterHud which you can find on the sector 3 studios. Is that the difference? Otherwise I run graphics on max and that’s about it!
I’ve always been scared to join a race I’ve had pc for about 2 years and I still only race AI I don’t trust myself enough to actually race online I don’t want to be the reason someone stays In rookie lobbies longer than they have too 😅
Tbh dont worry much. Join a friendly league or some unranked races. You Will improve very quickly Over time! I joined a weekly league after 30H of racing and dont regret it
It is in reality very difficult to have a good race on rookie servers the racing etiquette is plain awful. It's the reason I have more or less given up on what was my favourite sim. That and fed up to my back teeth with that damn BMW.
Hey buddy - ha each to their own opinion, but I don’t think there’s a moment where I don’t have a bit of my car alongside, and in tin top racing that means you need to leave some space. And on lap one it’s pretty bold to chop to the apex like that. But as I said in comms it’s a very difficult section on the opening lap in an online lobby - accidents almost always happen so it’s not a big deal.
Ben I have to say I really love your sim racing content especially your commentary that makes watching sim races on RUclips not boring lol, looking forward to seeing ou driving the GR86 on iracing and keep up the good work!
Ah thanks Patrick mate - really appreciate you taking the time to offer kind feedback. New RaceRoom video coming later today!
Great to see a RaceRoom video! Some of my most enjoyable and competitive races have been on this Sim. More pls.
Ha thanks man - hopefully more v soon!
What a last lap! Another example of just never giving up and continuing to push to the very end!
Ha thanks Si!! I have to say my morale was low on lap one - but super enjoyable racing after that!
Great drive Ben - excellent racing! Good to see you back on RR :)
Ah thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and yeah really pleased to be back in a ranked server too. Hopefully more coming soon!

Thoroughly enjoyed your race and excellent commentary. Thank you.

Wow! Fantastic racing Ben!
Cheers Jonathan - thanks for watching!
That was some seriously awesome racing there! Nice recovery.

Thanks Bogy! Yeah it was quite a heavy shunt so I was relieved to be able to keep going!
Great race mate, nice to see it from the back of the grid
Cheers Dan mate!
*_Great good fun!_* thanks
Awesome recovery Ben! Congrats!
Have you tried Monza in a GT4 these days? Most of the races are well to very well visited and entertaining to race.
Cheers Joe! Nope this was literally my first race of any kind on any sim for a couple of weeks! Looking forward to the new schedule for Christmas!
Great race, I was one of the drivers 🙂

I think what sent you into the spin was a second hit, a tap on the back. Without it you could probably catch the car.
Ah you could be right - I didn't notice that!
Is that hub look only for replays? Great race, every time get more excited to start playing race room
Hey buddy - thanks! Yeah so the replay graphics are all things I add in the edit rather than being part of OtterHud or RaceRoom itself.
The HUD thats on the screen when he's driving is called OtterHud. Its a third party add on that RaceRoom themselves recommend alongside using Crew Chief. I use it myself and its miles better than the standard hud within RaceRoom as its fully customizable.
Does RaceRoom now have radar, or is that a 3rd party app?
Hey buddy - that’s a third party app called OtterHud. You can download it on the sector 3 website.
Shame about first lap incident, awkward place to be in. But i think they had the space to give you abit more room. Good recovery drive though
Hi Ben Gret recovery! despite the damage to the car, others would have escaped sorry for my ingles
Ah thanks man! And your English is spot on! Es mucho mejor que mi español
@@Ben_LaBroca su español es mejor que el mío espero algún día podér cruzarlo en alguna ranked :)

rookies have 0 awareness and its not even their fault because it depends on the level of experience.
The first incident was your fault imo he was ahead before the corner
