There's just something special about Raceroom that makes driving more engaging for me than any other sim, both as a driver and as a spectator. It's good to see it back on your channel.
Hi Ben, awesome race and awesome result for you! Well deserved! I was in the same race. It was my very first TCR online race in RR after just some single player practice with the Audi TCR. I never drove TCR in RR before. I qualified directly behind you in the grid but got punted out in T1 in lap 1 what sadly destroyed my engine completely. In the replay the punt didn't look intentional and perhaps at least partly caused by myself. But anyway, you came through T1 and I keept watching the race from within the game from your car. Your freeze looked very courious to me, as if you where driving constantly to the right in T1 and UNDER the race track. I nerver saw anything like that in RR before. And I was very happy that somehow your game reconnected and put you back on track. Much, much better than a disconnect. The Hans-Peter Schwarz driver made me furious. A RR driver with already over 2000 ranked races who behaves so dirty! Unbelievable! The blocking was intentional all the time. I saw it from the roof of your car. He waited which line you choosed and just switched in front of you, multiple times. The time you drove beside him he not even tried to get the inside line of the hairpin. Another very dirty move! Thank god his capabilities ended just a little later in the stadium section and he shot himself off track. That made me happy 🙂 I had today two more races with TCR at Hockenheim. I could start both times in the first half of the grid and had very clean races (drives in the second half of the grid wheren't that luck). I really lack speed, so I have to keep on racing to get a better pace for the Hockenheim 30 minutes championship race in a couple of days. I hope to see you back in RR and would love to see more RR content from you!

It's a good thing Schwartz went off, I was getting upset just watching you get blocked over and over again. It's so incredibly tempting to nudge a guy in the back and turn him around after changing lanes 3 or 4 times every single straight, some really dangerous driving there. Just some messy racing up front despite everyone's rating being pretty decent. Keep it up Ben!
Ah thanks man - yeah I have to say at first I wasn’t sure if it was just the track bending left but after the third straight lap of it I was less than happy. Just small movements but really dangerous - as the guy in the Honda showed!!
As far as the channel goes I think raceroom content is smart. You and Chris really produce some 9f the highest quality raceroom content and it's an easy win in terms of people finding your channel. Also it's incredibly accessable content for new or budget sim racers. I personally don't bother watching iracing content as I don't have the time or cash to invest although I'm sure lots of people enjoy that too. ✌️💙

I was thinking of pitting and getting repairs Chris, but I decided to go on 😂 with the wheel pointing "slightly" to the side 😂 no aero, half of the engine left 😂

Still the best wheel to wheel racing sim out there, just a shame it's not as popular as it should be. I have a feeling all ISP's are under continual cyber assault presently and counter measures can cause a pause in the data stream, everyone I know is getting micro freezes and worse, in all types of software, just more prevalant in gaming. Nice to see you back in a proper sim, won't give EA eye time I'm afraid, let alone money, they are but a boil on the arse, whilst sliding down the bannister of life, best avoided. Great video, in a great sim, from a small independant developer, one of the very few left. Bravo!

Though I must admit, I was asking you to play Raceroom whereas I ended up playing AMS2 with the new physics yesterday 😅 Conclusion: it's still lagging behind Raceroom! Excellent racing as usual! The freeze thing was odd but you more than made up for it. I just started dabbling with TCRs. I don't drive FWD cars much. I noticed I could carry more speed in Zolder when I let it drift a bit (via gas pedal modulation) into wider corners, but now I see that you don't do that at all. So I guess it's back to the drawing board with my TCR strategy! Any tips?

@@Ben_LaBroca I just did an offline race and then a private server with a buddy in AMS2. I don't do much online racing though I always say I want to do more ranked R3E races. But I still suffer from what you described in one of your videos about the anxiety of online racing. I won my last R3E race but not without causing 2 cars to crash into each other cause I broke a millisecond too late on the opening lap on Laguna Seca and slightly punted one of them before I got the chance to complete the switch of my racing line to his inside. Since then haven't dared to join another online race. Thanks for the video! It says I've already liked it, so must have seen it last year and forgot! I shall rewatch to see what I missed!

I demolished a lad with a poor rejoin on an iracing session the other month and it stayed with me for the rest of the day 🤦♂️🤦♂️ a simple sorry, although needed and given, didn’t seem enough! 😅 But you’ve gotta get back on the horse - only way to learn lessons and get better!

But I never practiced standing starts so I immediately lost 3 position at the start and was too aggressive trying to get them back. And yes I really need to get back to ranked servers! it's been months since that incident. oh btw I replied to the TCR video instead of here. thanks for the tip! I think my oversteer style was not completely wrong then! Dennis drives similar to how I do it, just way more professional at it! more training is required! :)

I´ve experienced those freezes every other race, always when someone sets a fastest lap, so usually lap 1 and 2 causes a freeze for me, so I lose easily 7+ seconds due to that, and got some races just ruined due to it and still have NO GLUE on what causes it, as it seens super random, like it happens regardless the region server I join, car or track. Still it´s the best sim i´ve tried so far, player base are at most clean and respectful drivers and mistakes are mostly honest ones, so yeah, it´s always fun races, despite the random freezes.
I absolutely love raceroom, it’s sad that the servers are so dead in the NA region. I’m usually able to find a grid with at least 6 people on it in the afternoon.
I feel you, here in Brazil i can find nice grids up to 9PM max, after that it´s a 6 drivers races at best. Since I can only play past 7PM it´s sad that that player base is still small here.
When this sim title gets a proper graphical upgrade (DX 12), SSAO, Raytracing, etc... it will climb the ladder back up. Great choice of cars, BEST sounds, amazing unique tracks, best car setup tools to troubleshoot (default value, previous value, current value), new FFB/physics is top notch, but with the missing graphics, it's missing an important aspect in 2202.
The way cars flip so easily even on medium-height curbs looks quite unrealistic to me. Especially annoying since it's probably the only noticeable physics issue in this game.
I agree buddy - it’s even more odd as I generally find the “weight” of RaceRoom cars to be really intuitive and enjoyable. And yet the TCR in particular are very prone to flipping on sausage kerbs!
Actually not sure about other tracks, but I´ve seen it more often at this GP, so maybe it´s something about those sausages in particular, like on Laguna Seca there are those race killer sausages and I haven´t see this much flipping. Again i´ve raced just a some tracks and not sure how easy it flips on other similar scenarios.
@@brunoboldt6336 Yeah, that could be it... Although I remember people also complained about Red Bull Ring T1 and T2, too. I myself flipped a TCR car several times on Raceroom Raceway T5 (that long right-hander over a crest) and those curbs are just regular ones.
Them cars flipping like that is ridiculous, totally unrealistic.. i thought this was a sim? iv'e downloaded the free content and can't really tell if i would enjoy this by buying the premium package... i'm coming from Assetto corsa where there seems to be few players online. Any advice? this or Assetto Corsa Competicione? Or any others? which sim has the most users?
Thing i hate about raceroom ranked servers if you dont have the money to buy the tracks and cars there running its simply fuck off no ranked servers ive seen have run the tracks and cars i got free ????
too bad this game doesn't support standalone pedals sets. I would put my money into this game, since it has great touring cars, but I literally cannot play it.
What do you mean? Which pedals aren't supported? There's a problem with Simagic pedals if you use them without Simagic wheel base, but things like Heusinkveld's work fine. People also use mismatched pedal/wheelbase setups like a Thrustmaster pedals + Logitech wheel, or things like that.
@@vsm1456 I have simagic p2000 pedals which don't work. Someone just told me that standalone pedal sets don't work at all, and need to be plugged into the wheelbase.
@@rubbertoe. Yeah, that's an isolated problem with these pedals... The devs tried to solve it, but they weren't be able to replicate the issue: these pedals worked on their PCs just fine. What Windows version do you have?

Do you think that saying "we" implies you have some kind of team behind you? Get real. This is YOU, one person driving a simulated virtual car in a game/sim. So it is "I" or "me". Thanks.
@@hugov836 hehe honestly I don’t think so. It might be I’ve been sub consciously influenced by watching motorsport on the telly, but I also think it helps bring the viewer into the race too. So I’m not too worried unless many many people tell me it’s annoying!

When this sim title gets a proper graphical upgrade (DX 12), SSAO, Raytracing, etc... it will climb the ladder back up. Great choice of cars, BEST sounds, amazing unique tracks, best car setup tools to troubleshoot (default value, previous value, current value), new FFB/physics is top notch, but with the missing graphics, it's missing an important aspect in 2202.

It's almost criminal that hardly anyone in the USA plays this sim. I log in at night and the servers are like a ghost town. ☹
The way cars flip so easily even on medium-height curbs looks quite unrealistic to me. Especially annoying since it's probably the only noticeable physics issue in this game.
I agree buddy - it’s even more odd as I generally find the “weight” of RaceRoom cars to be really intuitive and enjoyable. And yet the TCR in particular are very prone to flipping on sausage kerbs!
Actually not sure about other tracks, but I´ve seen it more often at this GP, so maybe it´s something about those sausages in particular, like on Laguna Seca there are those race killer sausages and I haven´t see this much flipping. Again i´ve raced just a some tracks and not sure how easy it flips on other similar scenarios.
@@brunoboldt6336 Yeah, that could be it... Although I remember people also complained about Red Bull Ring T1 and T2, too.
I myself flipped a TCR car several times on Raceroom Raceway T5 (that long right-hander over a crest) and those curbs are just regular ones.
Them cars flipping like that is ridiculous, totally unrealistic.. i thought this was a sim? iv'e downloaded the free content and can't really tell if i would enjoy this by buying the premium package... i'm coming from Assetto corsa where there seems to be few players online.
Any advice? this or Assetto Corsa Competicione?

Thing i hate about raceroom ranked servers if you dont have the money to buy the tracks and cars there running its simply fuck off no ranked servers ive seen have run the tracks and cars i got free ????
too bad this game doesn't support standalone pedals sets. I would put my money into this game, since it has great touring cars, but I literally cannot play it.
What do you mean? Which pedals aren't supported? There's a problem with Simagic pedals if you use them without Simagic wheel base, but things like Heusinkveld's work fine. People also use mismatched pedal/wheelbase setups like a Thrustmaster pedals + Logitech wheel, or things like that.
@@vsm1456 I have simagic p2000 pedals which don't work. Someone just told me that standalone pedal sets don't work at all, and need to be plugged into the wheelbase.
@@rubbertoe. Yeah, that's an isolated problem with these pedals... The devs tried to solve it, but they weren't be able to replicate the issue: these pedals worked on their PCs just fine. What Windows version do you have?
@@rubbertoe. I run an alpha mini with VNM pedals plugged directly into the PC. Works great.

@@hugov836 hehe honestly I don’t think so. It might be I’ve been sub consciously influenced by watching motorsport on the telly, but I also think it helps bring the viewer into the race too. So I’m not too worried unless many many people tell me it’s annoying!
