  • Today’s video is all about North Atlantic flying vibes: flying from Vagar in the Faroe Islands to Copenhagen aboard an Atlantic Airways A320. This was shot last summer after I’d taken the inaugural A320neo service from Stewart Airport in upstate New York. I spent a couple of nights in the Faroe Islands and loved it - then it was time to head home.
Inaugural SWF-FAE flight video: • Inaugural New York to ...
Departing Vagar you’re most likely going to be flying Atlantic Airways to one of its European destinations, or on its New York flight which is coming back this year again for a limited time starting in September. Atlantic’s destinations include Edinburgh, Reykjavik, Paris, Billund, Oslo and of course Copenhagen. Not all of these are daily. This is a pretty small airline. Though you can also catch SAS from here to Copenhagen, and Wideroe even has a flight to Bergen on the Q400. I’ve heard that back in the day this could be a very gnarly airport to operate into. These days it’s still subject to the famously tricky Faroese weather which can mean low visibility, storms and rapidly changing conditions, but now with a longer runway and an ILS approach things are usually a bit more straightforward. If you’ve flown Atlantic Airways, be sure to let us know what your experiences were like in the comments.

this is a perfect example why I always ask for a window seat.
(Love the image stabiliser showing "all calm" looking outside while the window frame is bouncing around like all hell - mainly on takeoff)

Ah yes, my favourite airport. I luckily live in Akureyri (BIAR/AEY), and Atlantic Airways started flying here too. Im currently saving to buy a round trip 1 week, but you know the nordics, it's really expensive.

I flew with them between BLL and FAE in the summer of 2020. No food or beverage at all on the plane or at the airport because of the pandemic. I had a window seat on the return flight and the views were nice: we first crossed Shetland and then flew above a number of oil and gas rigs in the North Sea. It'll help to have been grown up on those islands in order to enjoy them in all seasons. But if you love nature then spending a vacation there in summer is fascinating.

I don’t know which word is more over-used in modern society. “Literally” or “experience”

Totally, also what’s with people in modern society misplacing punctuation like putting a period at the end of a sentence fragment AND then not using a period after the second fragment 😬😬😬
