    Easy replacement.
    Cheep $13 part from eBay
While it did get better it didn’t completely solve the problem. Off camera I found The wire harness to the blower motor connector was dirty and needed cleaning. I didn’t have contact cleaner so I used break cleaner and a wire brush. It made it better. But if it happens again I will need to clean it correctly with small file and electrical cleaner and possibly replace blower motor as well ( part OEM : 72240FA000, aftermarket part :700050

Also check if the cabin air filter is all clogged . Sometimes if the resistor goes the blower motor is not far behind . Just keep that in mind. I have a video on. Changing the blower motor as well .
I no longer have this car , I sold it few months ago. but videos I took on fixing stuff on it will live on

Thank you from a non-electrician. Thank you for pointing out the resistor. I changed it and my fan started working again and it was very easy! It only costed me $45 for the part from a Nissan car dealership. I asked my regular mechanic shop how much they would charge and they said it'll cost me $135 just for the troubleshooting.

Glad it helped you out. that is why I make these vids. For me it was the Blower motor that went , but when the blower motor goes often times the resistor is faulty and caused the blower motor to go out. later on I replead the blower motor, which is in one of my other vids. Just if you do that , make sure not to disconnect the air bag wire connector that is over by the glove box. I think its a Yellow Connector if memory is correct.

A clue as to whether the resistor is the problem. If it's faulty, the fan will only operate on the high speed setting. That is because the resistor assembly actually has three resistors -probably connected in series - that are switched in cumulatively for speeds 3, 2 and 1 on the fan motor circuit. On setting 4, the resistors are bypassed. Incidentally, operating the fan on the low setting puts the resistor assembly under the most stress because all three resistors are trying to shed that load in the form of heat. Try plugging the thing in and running the fan on low before installing it. It will get hot enough to burn you.

That is true. Also if a blower motor goes often times the resistor isn’t too far behind .

Funny, I diagnosed mine by tapping on it. Works now, but sometimes I gotta have my wife kick it. That's why I married her.

      lol
Yah it’s likely your blower motor going . If it is . It’s a simple job , also change the cabin air filters at that time. Since it’s in the same spot.
However if the blower is going often times the resistor is not too far behind . Best option is to change both at same time

My heat is stuck on, I have a 03. My fan speed knob doesn’t work. So I can’t turn the heat off

that may be different then this , the Bower motor resistor control the speed of the fan not the temp. how the blower motor varies the speed is vary the resistance of the power to the motor. and the blower motor resistor is what controls that resistance variation.
You can replace the part , It’s very cheep part and on 2001 model year very easy to get to. By the blower motor. But replacing it may not fix it . The resistor only controls the speed of fan not the temperature
