What gratitude,we should have being able to read.Years ago many people didn't have the privilege and blessing. This book was so thought provoking and a page turner. It is a very descriptive book in so many ways.A wonderful choice, yet again Miranda and Donna. What happiness and joy it gives us all to be part of the Comfort book club and we are all so very geateful you started it!❤❤
I’ve not read this book, but I do enjoy listening to you both discussing the book. Your mum is so talented with words and description, as are you 📚 ❤ ☕️
New video!! I have only recently gotten into your videos, and I love your channel! The pacing in the videos makes me feel so calm and I love the books you recommend. I just found that your website shows the book of the month, I will try to read the book of the month for November ❤
This sounds like a wonderful book, just the sort I will enjoy. It's always a pleasure listening to the Comfort Book Club , whether I've read the book or not. I always enjoy listening to the other readers comments too. Thank you for this recommendation, I'll be sure to read it soon. X
I listened to your interview with Anna Rose Johnson but only read the book today and it was so sweet and wonderful! Thank you for the recommendation Miranda and Donna! And thank you to the people who left their thoughts on it. I enjoy people's opinions almost as much as the books :)
This is such a wonderful book. I loved that things turned out so well for Norvia and her family. Uncle Virgil truly loved and cared for his new step-children. I’m really hoping there will be a sequel. Thank you so much for choosing this book. ❤
Didn't get to read this in time, but what a lovely and thrilling book it sounds like! Will definitely buy🤗 Thank you Miranda and Donna for such a wonderful venue to come and share/ listen about such wonderful books you pick. Such a big plus, A happy plus in my lonely life. I cherish my books🤗 BOO!
I really enjoyed this book, and I've enjoyed hearing your discussion of it! I particularly liked the sympathetic treatment of stepfamilies, as you both pointed out. My mother came from a blended family in which there was a lot of love, so that was great to see. Also, I always love a bookish heroine. Thank you to both of you for choosing this book!
I am in awe of the youth of the author and the insight and observation of character in the book. I had not come across this book. Thank you for introducing me to it.
Hello Miranda and Donna. This was a lovely, sweet read that I enjoyed very much. Norvia’s first day of high school did have me recalling my own anxious time entering the big world. Overall, the close feeling of family enjoying the evening on the porch was wonderful. An excellent choice for these uncertain times. Thank you.🍂
Thank you, Miranda, Donna and the ladies who contributed to the discussion, you have all inspired me to read this book. I didn’t have time to read it beforehand 😊
This book hits all the right notes! I tend to approach new- to -me middle grade books with trepidation because they can be tricky to enjoy. However, The Star That Always Stays is a real page turner that is not too saccharine, simplistic or unrelatable. Johnson's novel is nicely balanced in all ways, and a pleasure to read. I predict it will be a modern classic.
