My last finished model was Revell's '57 Chevy Snap Max. Well proportioned body, with a nice interior that lent itself to detailing. A curbside that like the Nova you mentioned can go together quick and look great.
The new Next Gen car I feel like is not for beginners. Many times there are warped pieces in the kit that make it difficult to build. Most of their other stuff is just the Monogram molds.
@@JRRsModelCars Shall do; Been doing some online research with mixed messages on the NewGen kits; Some suggest they are well done, precision fit while some others are not impressed at all; I guess it may depend on your model skills and expectations.
I’ve built three of the nextgen kits. All three had warped chassis pans, some people have had them with no warpage. The instructions are hard to follow, Clay Kemp has a RUclips video that will really help you on building the chassis on the kit.
Love those 80s Monogram kits I recommend the Monogram kits from the 80s of the Mopars they had - 70 Dodge Challenger T/A, 69 Superbee and 70 GTX - they all go together pretty good 👍
It’s probably because I’ve built so many of the 80’s nascar kits that they just kinda fall together for me. I can see where some parts could be challenging, but overall it’s not a complicated kit
yes you are right, they are small things but they are not hard to build, i had some problem with the one i build but was my own doing, wasn't the kit at all
@@JRRsModelCars so my first kit was the 1968 dodge charger 2 in 1 that I put the race engine and roll cage in but just ruined the car and my second car broke
@@JRRsModelCars it was a level five kit the back seats were filed to fit the cage I put a massive bob were the transmission goes the second kit was a mpc dodge charger country the chassis was twisted so the body didn’t fit that well and the front wheels had pins inside and they snapped the rear bumper didn’t fit the cover for the carburettor was glue to the body the next kit is a Airfix jaguar E type
That MPC charger is a junk kit in my opinion. The old Dukes of Hazzard kit..they need to junk that mold and make a new one. I’ve not built an Airfix kit
@@JRRsModelCars Ah,okay!maybe you should try a couple from Aoshima,Fujimi and Hasegawa!Mostly curbsides!Great detail(except the chassis on some, because of Batterie and E motor)and easy to build!many have parts for different versions or mods!!
Thank you for remembering the newbies
Not a problem.
Great idea, enjoyed your choices. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻😊

You are correct on that ‘57 being a good kit for a snap kit. Thank you for watching
Any thoughts on the new Salvino Nascar kits for beginners?

@@JRRsModelCars thx
You’re welcome. You should check them out because they do look nice when finished, I just don’t think they are good for a beginner.

Great choices (I happen to have each of those, in one variation or other 😁), good to see a new video too, brother was wondering how you've been 😊✌️
I’ve been good, thanks for asking. Holiday stuff always messes with the hobby. Thanks for watching!
You really can't go wrong with a Revell/Monogram kit!!
Absolutely correct!

I do as well, some of my favorite kits to build. Thank you for the recommendation on the Mopar kits, I have not built any of those
I've yet to do a Moebius kit... I've heard great things about them.. same with Tamiya kits ..
Both are excellent, great fit and finish
I've been thinking about doing that 63 Nova Wagon....
There are two styles of that kit, one curbside and one with a full engine
Here are 5 more kits I've done recently I'd highly recommend..1)AMT 64 Ford Galaxie 500XL,2)AMT 66 Chevy Chevelle SS396,3) Revell 66 Pontiac GTO,4)Revell 70 Buick GSX and 5) Revell 81 Chevy Camaro Z28..
Cool selection, but I feel that stock cars are kind of challenging, but that’s my opinion

That 69 SS396 Chevelle is on my wish list too ..
Fantastic kit, I’ve built 2 already
Curbside kit?
No engine in a curbside kit. That’s the main difference
@@JRRsModelCars thank you
🤠👍
AMT,MPC,Lindberg and Polar Light have had some hits and misses...
You put a level five kit in a video for beginner kits
That Chevelle from Revell goes together so easily, I have no problem recommending it for beginners. Thank you for watching

You forgot nearly all Jap Manufacturer
I’ve only build Tamiya as a Japanese manufacturer, so I don’t have experience with the others. I can’t recommend them if I haven’t built any

I do want to for sure, I do have a fujimi F1 Ferrari that I haven’t built yet
