And I'm seriously debating that option. I ordered a 5 ply Custom pickguard for it to see how it looks. I took the 5 ply off my Modern and put it on there just to see, and it looked pretty sharp. I'll wait until the new one comes in and install it before making any other videos with this one. But it is going to be kind of cool to have an R8 and R9 with the black pickguards.
PRS fretboard conditioner. There are some really good products out there, but I've had really good luck with the PRS conditioner. Be warned, though, the bottle does NOT seal all the way, so don't lay it down to store it.
I've been considering polishing my Epi '59 Les Paul in Aged Dark Burst. It's got a matte finish that will polish to a shine by hand pretty quickly. I plan on using a buffing wheel, though. IF I ever do it. Not sure I want to yet. Every other guitar I own is shiny 😂
Is this a Gibson? Im having serious doubts this is a legit Gibson....just from the look of the routing....How did it end up with black pickup rings and those pickups?
You can't be serious. 🤦 It probably ended up with them the same way every other guitar ends up with non-oem stuff installed: the owner installed it or paid someone to do it. You do know that people modify their guitars, right?
I'm having serious doubts you know enough about guitars to call out ANYTHING as fake 🤷 it's an R8. It takes about 15 seconds to verify as legit. How many fakes have you seen with proper side dots? 🤔
@theguitarfather1837 , This guitar is a Demo Shop/Mod Shop modified Gibson guitar. It is an actual Gibson that they took off the line because it wasn't first run quality. They take those guitars and modify them with all kinds of different changes, and the black pickup rings are one of the things they frequently change. You can look the Gibson Demo Shop on Reverb or do a Google search for the Gibson Mod Collection and you will find the link to the Gibson Modified guitars.
one of the most beautiful
Very nice. Congrats! Gotta admit, I would change the black pickup rings to cream. That's just me. Beautiful guitar.

What did you treat the fretboard with? Looks very nice.
