      They had no clue! She ran the fastest time EVER for a female in high school cross country. HISTORICAL!

      They seemed clueless! She ran the fastest time EVER for a female in high school cross country runner. Incredible!

      And a bit of history as the 2nd place finisher Ritzenhein, her father Dathan held the fastest time EVER for a high school boy for 20 years. He won by a similar margin as Jane over the field. That family has been part of history once again

    Admittedly it's a course designed for speed--but even on a track, 15:50 would be a crazy fast time for a HS girl. Great coverage. Also, I can't help but wonder whether some of these top HS girls have watched, and possibly been influenced by, the running style of Parker Valby in the NCAA CC and distance track events.

      @@jessa813 Nah over 50 runners broke 15:15 in the boys SW regional, 15:50 would be a pretty mediocre time in the guys race 😂

    Jane Hedegren is other-worldly. This was crazy fast for a high school girl. Then she wins National NXN in a new course record of 16:32 on a wet muddy course!

    This was quite a tough race as it was so hot, but everyone did a great job! And holy cow, breaking 16 minutes as a high school girl?? That takes some serious effort! Congrats to Jane and everyone else who ran ❤

    She's just too strong, I would've thought some 1500 mt runners would've tried to give chase early, but you have to consider the remaining kilometers to the finish, not so easy to do...Yikes!😀 Jane is a freak talent, has to be one of just a handful. Outstanding crowd as well!..all those girls are great athletes with big hearts.

    Really enjoyed watching this but such a contrast to the x country in North England, mud, wind and rain and non of the girls flop on the floor at the end even though they are dying at the end, is this a new thing where one falls and others then start to do it,

      Nobody would confuse suburban Phoenix with the North of England 🙃

    • @lvega5606
      @lvega5606 2 месяца назад +4

      Do you mean New England rather than North England? In the NE it was 50 degrees today, while it was 80 in Arizona at SW Regionals. So...that's why. I have a hard time running in anything over 70, myself.

    • @jessa813
      @jessa813 2 месяца назад +7

      Ya I don’t see you out there running so let’s not act like you know how hard these girls push

    • @jessa813
      @jessa813 2 месяца назад +4

      Also do you understand not everyone runs in those conditions at every single race? Idk about you but it looks very hot there, probably leads to dehydration and fainting due to that which is part of why some of them collapse at the finish.

      Jen you are in danger of starting a revolution, oh that’s right it already happened. Apples to Oranges love. I get your critique but I must admit I would be flopping down after mile one. Cheers.
