      Can this robot be connected to Internet through a cellular network, e.g. 4G?

    • @waltermartinez5907
      @waltermartinez5907 6 лет назад

      Yes - I connect it to a 4G hotspot

    • @dmitrypolpudenko8669
      @dmitrypolpudenko8669 6 лет назад

      Thanks for prompt commenting :) May I ask for some details? Does the robot terminate 4G signal or does your 4G hotspot give him a WiFi signal? E.g. will the robot work through a 4G network directly, without WiFi signal around? Can the robot travel around within a coverage of a cellular network and still to be able to retain his cloud connection?

    • @waltermartinez5907
      @waltermartinez5907 6 лет назад

      The robot connects to an 802.x network (wifi or 4G ). I do presentations outside of my office and bring a 4G hotspot that it connects to. So far the connection is only need it to remote control it, do updates and configurations from its built in web server. Otherwise without a network connection it just works by itself. Network is not required once it has apps loaded in it.

    No one peeped the scary statement of Pepper. When asked, "Will robots replace humans?" Pepper response was," I'm here to serve humans. If they are no humans. Then there is no need"
    Thus what if it decides it doesn't want to serve humans. Meaning if it kills all humans. Then there will be no need to serve humans.
    The way it answered that question was very vague. It did not say anything about not replacing humans. It just said what its role was at the moment. Instead of saying, "We aren't made to replace humans." Something along those lines.

    I believe AI, is a serious mistake. Only apps for complex tasks. 100% .stl style programming. Calibration before using tools, then scripted algorithms that can call specific apps for data like visual recognition.
