What a breath of fresh air. Someone who values money above the need to have the "latest thing". Its better to wait. Lower prices, bigger selection of games (many of which are cheaper to). I usually find, when the ststem life ends, thats ghe time to go in 100% and buy up games on masse.
The Switch didn't really appealed to me at first because when I was out and about I didn't really had time to play, and at home I had my PS4 wich was more powerful than the Switch. Buying the console just to play the exclusives and on dock mode seamed like a waste of the console potential and it would be eventually put to the side in the determent of my main gaming system. However now, due to a career change, I'm gonna spend a lot more time away from home, so getting a Switch started to make a lot more sense. More sense even than upgrading to a PS5 that I'll be barely able to play. But with rumors of a Switch 2 coming next year getting stronger and more frequent, and the lack of denial from Nintendo, the Switch Lite seems like the safest bet to get into the system this late in the console life, specially if, like me, your plan is to use the switch mostly portable. I'm still able to catch up with the games I really want to play and save some money that can be later used for a new gaming system.
I completely agree. Those were basically the same thoughts I had about it. Plus they're still releasing games for the PS4. So I'm just gonna wait for a cheaper model like the PS5 Slim to come and probably jump in there. As far as the Switch Lite goes I'm loving it. It's nice to have a dedicated handheld that plays every game as the regular Switch. Good move.
When Nintendo switch released, I don't buy it coz the design is very flashy but when they released the switch lite i bought asap 😂 as an adult who still play, switch lite is a treasure for me coz Switch lite is lowkey in public and i do care what others say, i only play turn based games coz no matter how long you don't attack, the enemy is still standing 😂, my Switch lite is still good as new😂
The one single issue with the lite is All joycon analog fail with drift. And those use the same analogs. Fixing it on the lite requires a full teardown of the system or paying a professional or praying it's still warrantied. On joycons buy a $20 hall effect stick replacement and ten minutes it never happens again.
@@linkedtothepast3821 Seems kinda random tbh, I've known some with lites they beat to hell and have had since launch and are fine. I've seen others in mint condition develop it six months in. I hope yours lasts years, but if it does need the repair, definitely opt for the hall effect stick replacements. Pita to do but well worth it. Happy gaming!
FANTASTIC REVIEW!!! I'm planning on buying the Lite as i want a cheap way into the ecosystem as i don't care for the OLED or the base version my family won't want to play it and most of the games I'm interested in are single player so. the Lite it is LOL. In addition i have a Xbox Series S and plan to get a PS5 Slim if it comes out and for the witch i'm only gonna play BOTW, AOC, TOTK, SS, Mario 3D World, Odyssey and maybe Wonder and like 2 LEGO games not enough to warrant a full console unlike Xbox or PS5 for me personally. The Lite is HIGHLY Portable and affordable especially 2nd hand, I wouldn't buy this at pull price tho as to me it should be £180-150 but i hoped for an OLED Lite but it's not happening so imma buy one soon. At first i questioned the Lite but understood that it was meant to replace the 3ds/2ds while being current so i've come to like it now.
I feel the same way. It's been nice to have a dedicated handheld to play on the go. Plus anytime I'm at home I'm either playing on the couch or in bed. So the lite just made sense to me at this point of the life span of the Switch. I'm also waiting on the PS5 Slim and still enjoying my PS4 in the meantime.
Yeah I hope Nintendo fixes the joycon drift issue for the next console. Have you ever experienced any drift from the Lite? I haven't really heard anyone talk about it.
For me the Lite is perfect. I have so many consoles and play them all so the Lite is my dedicated portable console or laying in bed. I don't play it enough to justify buying the OLED at this point in the lifespan. I'll buy the docked Switch 2 when it comes out in a year or so.
The one thing I don't get is if you want something you can only go hand held then get the normal switch that way the option is always there. I get it's cheaper to get the lite but I honestly get confused.
It didn't make sense to buy the normal switch with the dock then turn around next year and buy the new. I'm ok with upgrading the lite version within that time frame. I understand if you don't understand and I'm ok with that.
Because v2 and oled switch is very heavy for handheld use, and they are so brittle. I have tried all this version myself and lite is surely the best one when it comes to portability

I especially love how the background music almost drowns out your words entirely

It appeals to me cause I'm homeless

Yeah joycon is my only concern but so far so good with no issues. I don't think I play it enough for it to come into play anytime soon.

“Goddamn it, Steve! I’m trying to play piano over here!”
background music way too loud
Im definitely getting the switch lite for my wife for Christmas 😁
Nice! I've thought about getting my wife one as well. Soild gift idea 💡
@@linkedtothepast3821 Definitely getting her the pink one. You know any good accessories for the lite?

Only reason i would buy this is for ultimate alliance 3
I've actually never played any of the ultimate alliance games. I need to check them out. Is the 3rd one the best?
I need that shirt dude
Your background music was a little too loud to hear you clearly. Also, what grip are you using on the switch lite
JUSPRO Ergonomic Carrying Case Grip Bundle. It's on Amazon and comes with the carrying case.
What's your favourite Zelda, Mine would be OOT but the 3DS version a major upgrade and my 1st Zelda game. SS,TP and BOTW would soon follow.
OOT for the N64 will always be my favorite. It's what made me a gamer. I need to try the 3DS version one day tho.
I have the oled and still bought a lite because the lite is small enough to take. The oled is clunky and the joycons feel loose
Yeah I hope Nintendo fixes the joycon drift issue for the next console. Have you ever experienced any drift from the Lite? I haven't really heard anyone talk about it.
I do prefer the lite over the oled awesome choice and Awesome choice in Music.
Thanks
Good comparison! Def OLED switch is better. The better question is, is it a $300 better and worth it for you? Hehe

I think you over thought this one bro. You've been missing out and still playing the Wii with your SO??
Idk if I should buy a switch lite or ps portal
Ps portal is not a console, so unless you have a PlayStation you should go for switch

@@Rhachette but the OLED screen though... But yeah the Lite feels more robust.
The next system is not going to dock it's going to get projected instead.
Whatever is it, I'm ready for it!
Why I Bought a Piano
$35 for stardew valley is wild. Pricey.
