Azura Goh used to play the violin with my niece, Lini in the S’pore Malay Orchestra when they were younger. Her mom is one of the nicest lady I’ve ever known. Watching her grows up from a humble violinist to become a popular DJ is a wow! Proud of her!
I immediately think of the many many teachers that has changed my life. From a quiet girl to now speaking on stages - I will never be where I am without them! Such a beautiful series!
This really shows how teachers can impact students way past into their adulthood. I still have a deep impression of my form teacher in Secondary 4 who made me feel confident. I was an express student but barely making it through exams and thought I might not even make it to Poly. Somehow, simple gestures from her somehow motivated me and I eventually a relatively decent O level score and got into the course of my choice. Eventually I did decently in Poly and got into a Local university and I believe it was due to her impact that kickstarted me into thinking I could do it if I tried. I am sure she might not recall me as a student but I am ever grateful for the impact she had on me. Mdm Khalidal (Can't recall her name) from SKSS. Thank you.

If I'm right, the other Doris was one of my form teachers back in St. Hilda's Primary (Class of '06) and she taught us Math and Art. She was firm, patient, but motherly towards her students. So sad to hear that she has passed on.
This video reminds me of my primary school's teachers. I have been assigned to contact our teachers. Luckily I managed to find a few of them who are still alive. On 1st February 2020, we had a reunion for SK Suka Menanti, batch 76-81 students and teachers at Hotel Tabung Haji in Alor Setar. I managed yo contact 6 teachers but only 4 of them turned up, 2 males and 2 female teachers. It was a very memorable and happy occasion one. 1 week later, a whatsapp group was form by the teacher to get connected to all of us. Until now the 2 female teachers are still alive and 2 male teachers were no longer alive. Another female teacher, who couldn't make it to the reunion passed away at the age of 95. Al Fatihah to my former teachers who were so dedicated in teaching me and my friends to be what we are today. Thank you teacher, may Allaah The Almighty grant all of you jannah. I can feel the same feelings and emotions in teaching because I am a teacher too. 😊

This video had inspired me to search for my teacher from 14 years ago, and today I, I found her. Now working as a teacher myself, I realise the impact that a teacher has on a student, and after seeing this video, I embarked on a quest to find her. It wasn't easy, and the journey to reconnect with her took many phone calls, emails, and text messages, albeit mostly to the wrong people with the same name. Now that I've reconnected with her, the satisfaction and delight is indeed immeasurable.
Incredibly touching story. It makes one think that one should always watch their words when addressing a child. Especially when you're in a position of trust and (relative) power.
Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt/compassionate life story...instead of today- all we hear are fake news or false news from the usual Western Media...full of hates and negativities, that cause wars and sufferings. Om Mani Padme Hum.
wow lovely series! It's really a tough job being a teacher, now that I am one myself. I hope we dont lose that gratitude and end up like the situation in Korea right now. I was also from SHPS and I think Ms Doris Lim would have taught me before. My musical interest started since Primary school and was in choir then.
Honestly teachers do not get enough credits in shaping our lives, they have the unenviable position of watching over students and having to deal with parents, all the while treating us as her foster children where which they will only have a limited time to nurture but will never ever see us live up to our full potential.
I missed my biology teacher! I scored A1 in my O level under the teaching of Mrs Yeo (spouse of former defense minister and MP for Kim Seng - Dr Yeo Ning Hong). Thank you Mrs Yeo!
Teach from the heart and not from the mind. The best thing from the heart is love and oneness. The best thing from the mind is intellect. The worst thing from the heart is insecurity. The worst thing from the mind is division and heartlessness.

Which? Im from czps too and i remember the first principal i had from there was so so loved by everyone. Sadly they left the post when i was in lower primary so i myself dont have too much memories with the principal
Yes, the 1st principal of CZPS. I remembered how he took his time to teach students who were weak in Mathematics in 1989. I showed more interest in Mathematics and scored well in that subject during my prelim and PSLE exam.@@jjgal92
