Which one is your favorite?? I also have a beautiful gold Kikki K with black and white polka dots on the inside coming next week. :P I can't decide which is my favorite, though!
Omg!! I am sooooooooooo glad to see someone who is as addicted to planners and the binders from these brands as me!! I hit the jackpot on some serious clearance prices on Budget 52 items etc too=) Went back and they had two of the budget 52's on the clearance aisle two different trips so I bought those too along with the big pink flowered one when they went to 50% off again. So now I have all of the inside lash planners and the lash journal they just came out with in my store. I don't own a KiKi one or Erin C. though they just never seemed up to par for me. Just so you know they have a Paris themed one and a Rose Gold Memory Planner made by American Crafts DCWV Moment Maker Planner - 6-Ring System Binder - Rose Gold, 7.9" x 9.6", Built-In Pockets, Magnetic Closure. I'm working on this one now. I do have the inserts already though =)~ You can actually put a notebook in the back of these and they have a charm holder on front. I do love all of my recollections Michaels planner binders etc too. After I get this one and the rest of my Miss Maker stickers I am so done till next year. ( I have to stay away from the shinies too) Great comparisons! Way I see it we get what we love and then make them work for us. Vision planner, Self care, faith, business, personal, family, etc.
I love coming and watching this video every time I buy or want to buy a new planner. Seeing everyone’s 2020 set ups made me jealous so I got myself a Christmas present of a blush pink croco planner in personal size so I’m watching this so I don’t feel too decadent for getting another binder 🤣
Switching them out is the best way to go, IMO. You seem to use them all so I don't see the problem. I am a TN and Happy Planner girl and switch them out constantly. Great video!
You bought the same Carpe Diem that I just bought to house my story bible (Floral Dot). I love the fact that I can pop things in and out, switch them around, print stuff of my pc or work by hand, snap in images, pockets, bookmarks, etc. and totally customize it to work for me.
I totally relate to the shiny object syndrome.. i’ve been considering doing an A5 binder set up with a mixture of purchased layouts and blank pages but I currently love the creativity and customization of my Bullet Journal. I just struggle to not purchase anything during the new planner releases lol.
Too funny. Shiny Object Syndrome. I am such a planner addict. It's not even funny. Everything you said is so familiar. I've wasted a TON of money on planners and still haven't found planner peace. I adore Filofax and can buy them just because. Your purple is GORGEOUS. I'm so excited to try your printable planner to see if I can finally find planner peace with all the planners I already own. I have the Filofax Nude (which is my ultimate favorite) and the Filofax orange. Plus way too many traveler's notebooks to mention. But then I love the spiral planners at Michaels and Levenger/Happy Planner/Arc systems and can't decide if I will stick with rings instead of disc bound. But LOVED this video and love making my own dividers too!
That's what I have been stuck on lately is TN's Cara Moulds. Now I am learning to make my own and love it. Yes those spiral Recollection ones are awesome and like you I am so in love with my Arc/martha Stewart/ Levenger/Happy Planner supplies that all go so very well together to mix everything up all sorts of ways. I don't think I wanna just stick with disc or ring but use them both all year for different things to planner peace=) All the binders for Recollections, Happy Planner, Webster's, etc really make it so much better to switch things up for my mood and seasons etc. So this video made me happy =)
Switching binders is the way I cured (sort of 😉) the shiny object problem. It also helps me stay in the same system for the entire year. Just today I switched from my croc filofax to my original style filofax in “pillarbox red” which is a deep red that coordinates well with autumn colors. I keep them on my book shelf & it’s super easy to switch binders.
Sadly a few of these companies I used to buy from are no longer in business like Websters pages. Some others are coming up though like cloth and paper, notiq, and aura Estelle. Maybe it's time to do an update!
Great idea!! I have a Kikki K Personal and A5 binders, thinking I would love the three ring binders, but I found it hard to store used pages. Instead I've fallen down the Hobonichi hole again for 2019. Enjoy your videos. Maybe watching your (future) videos will inspire me to use one of my Kikki binder for my writing. :)
I like the kikiK (sp?) purple with zippers and pockets. I prefer bigger binders and I just use the ones I already have. I spent about 65 for pens (brush and gel, fine sharpie), stencils, metallic washi, paper (A5 dot grid), and stickers (thank you and planner). I already had binders, folders, stamps and ink, card collecting pocket sheets, paper (lined, graph, gradebook grid) other pens, hole punch, and emoji stickers. I had been using a pocket calendar book and ripped pages out of it. The bigger binder with layered page sizes made it fun to arrange contextual dutch door layeringof keys and motivational art. I don't take the whole thing with me anywhere. I just take a few pages out and around if needed and put them back. I have 6 binders. *planner *book series1 *book series2 *teaching *MTG commons/uncommons *MTG rares Only the planner has fancy pen art lettering and stickers and things.
I'm so happy for you. I love A5 planners. That lilac with gold dots though...I'm in love! I hope I get my hands on it. Since its a retired collection, it'd be hard to find. I love watching A5 planner hauls.
Thank you!! It's such a beautiful planner in person too. I didn't even realize how lucky I was to get it at that price! I hope you can find one out there!
Not sure if I have actually ever searched for planner peace but use TN's, a Recollections for the last year and a half and now have the Carpe Diem Color Wash to use for 2019. I was hoping to go vertical but I won the Carpe Diem binder on IG a couple months back and Carpe Diem/Simple Stories is my fave current manufacturer of planner/scrapbook supplies as their style is just so me so I am excited to use if for 2019. I have been stocking up on stickers (I also won the Simple Stories sticker book "Seasons") from Etsy that I feel not only coordinate but also will be a little decorative as well as functional for getting me organized this coming year. I can't wait to start it.
I really enjoyed your video! I'm a 7-ring, Day-Timer Malibu Gal (or any of their binders that have the same interior layout as the DT Mal). Like you I've tried many things as I saw new ways and means come out, but I always end up back at the DT Desk sized. I have over 20 covers now (covers not binders because I tore out the rings so I can simply move my fave rings set from one cover to another by way of nuts and bolts through the spine). I even had a FF mini as a wallet planner, and it did work great..till I got tired of copying things from my months twice...that said, It did work fine and will be reserved for traveling, cus who doesn't love a wristlet wallet/planner that is truly the size of an actual wallet? (I made it into a wristlet by simply attaching a clip strap to the rings.) But for now I'm back to a flat wristlet coin pouch id window wallet that allows for fitting my organizer into my backpack bag. I used to use DT Flavia inserts, the Mo2P, Wo2P, Do2P, and even the Do1P for homeschooling, but alas they stopped making them. I now use DiY I bought from etsy that have grid designs and a simple layout similar to the Flavias, but I can make them even more custom to my life with my Papermate Flairs. I use Frixions for planning so the Flairs are great cus the colors match the Frixions but do not erase. It's kind of like having bullet journal flexibility inside a 7 ringed planner. I'm always tempted by the Kikki K's and the Carpe Diems, but must admit they still look a bit stiffer compared to my present ones.
I call the guts of my system, the planner. I call the cover an organizer, I'm old school and that's the term used when the binders that had pockets and slots for things came out. My guts stay the same cus I have what I think of as the essential ME in their design. I do not sticker or stamp much. I have diff colored covers for each month and some special ones for holiday weeks. As DT stopped releasing new Malubu colors, too, now I buy the faux ones from eBay or the DT Black Flexes, and I paint them with leather or acrylic paint to suit my desires..works like a charm and WAY less expensive. I'm toying with painting a galaxy-style one next.
@@suburbohemian This is great!! Sounds like you've really found what works for you. Did you see that Emily Ley just released some beautiful 7ring binders at office Depot? They are so pretty! If they were six ring, I would have been tempted!
I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU really help me out cause I am switching to A5 that my happy planner layout will be in, So I starting buying different A5 carpe diem and kikki k large and one Filofax to switch my planner in and out of when I want something different to look out on the outside, thanks so much. Carpi diem have sale 60% off so I got most of them for $12 to $14 bucks, Thanks so much.
I think I also have that syndrome lol although I’ve now found peace with A5’s. There’s a whole world of possibilities with them that I never knew of. I could choose vertical to horizontal to hourly layouts which is what I had a problem with before. I just wanted to change my planner to fit with my life which was monthly. I’m also hopeful it’ll stop me from spending on so many planners as well as the accessories that went with them. Love the video !
Yes you have the same idea 💡 as me. switching out makes sense. I have the shiny things syndrome too lol. I still have a few to buy. Hi 👋🏾 from the U.K.
Thanks so much for sharing all of these! It was helpful. Im thinking I may go back to rings and stick to switching out binders too. Like you, I have shiny object syndrome and have spent so much on different systems! 🙈
THANK YOU. YOU REALLY HELPED ME ALOT FOR 2020💖 I REALLY wish Michael's would step up their game they were known for their originality. Now, it seems there just supplying the masses when it comes to planners 😑
I feel exactly the same way! And what’s “funny” about this video is I had planned on doing the same thing you did but I haven’t decided on a size until earlier today when I went to micheals and looked at the Foxy Fix website... I picked A5 before I even watched your video. But I’m thrilled that I saw your planner haul because I think I might do the same where I can buy many covers so I don’t have to buy a new planner every year or so. So thanks for the idea.
Heads up. I believe that pink Kikik with the dragonflies that you are talking about in the beginning is like half off right now. 😂 might want grab it while it’s on sale too!
We think alike. I just got one from Hobby Lobby for next year. It came with dated insert. But I believe Hobby Lobby has a tote bag to match. With 3 different zipper pouches sold separately that also match. They are by “Paper Studio”. Which u know is on sale for 50% off nearly every other week. I have 3 other binders. Two that I got from Joann’s for $5 each. Really pretty not goo quality but I like them.
Sarra, I’ve actually been looking for ring binder inserts that would go for my work and business life! I hope that your inserts aren’t downloading. I don’t own a printer so.... I do love your concept because I just started my own crochet business, which I already have an old Franklin Covey Planner that I use, plus I have an older 6 ring binder that I’ll use for work. I agree with you, I refuse to keep purchasing shiny things but.... this video! Scrapbook. Com does have a clearance on binders. Thanks for sharing this though
Ooh, Hopefully I'm not too late on checking out scrapbook .com sale! And for now, yes my inserts are printables, but I'm hoping to offer preprinted ones next year!
I have so many binders and I LOVE being able to switch out colors! My favorites are my bubblegum pink Kikki K (I sort of keep this one to just savor). I have two gold Kikki K that are nice, but not my favorites. My very favorite though is the Ivory Carpe Diem. I bought a back up for that one. I have many different colors in the Carpe Diem. I really like them because I know they are not so expensive so I don't worry about messing them up. But, I do keep them in a cloth cover when I carry them in my bag. I also have two beautiful A5 binders from Mommy Lhey that are just gorgeous! Check her out!
Oh, I didn't know she had binders! I knew she did stamps and stuff. I will look them up! The Bubblegum pink kikki k is so pretty! I have the notebook cover in that collection but not the binder!
Man you are lucky! The purple dot planner is hard to get and can be quite expensive! (Source, am Australian and have an obsession) I recently found you and I'm so glad I have :) I love all your planners!
💗💗💗 them all! Like you, I've spent so much money trying out different pre-printed and bound planners over the years, only to find that I really HAD TO create my own. One of my projects in The HB90 Method (🌟holy guacamole, Sarra, I've been more productive in the 7 days post-workshop than the 270 days prior. thank you!🌟) is to collect all my unused planners into a box and take them to storage. I'll only be swapping out my binders from now on...save for the Hobonichis - those I will keep using for various purposes. Can't wait to see your new binder setup!
I LOVE polka dots too :D I want that white & gold dots one from Webster's! I just started using rings and got a free plain white one from a planner friend. Gonna test it out and see how it works for me. Your planner setup video a little while ago inspired me to try it out :)
You are going to make me spend money, woman. ;) Sarra, how do you cut your printouts down to A5 size? What do you use, specifically? Name/brand please and thank you. :D
Haha! Sorry? So to cut the paper down, I use a fiskars paper trimmer like this www.amazon.com/Fiskars-152490-1004-SureCut-Deluxe-Trimmer/dp/B0038F1A0S/
i got the same color crush binder and also the floral dot carpe diem - love them! i have a similar collection of binders that i refuse to throw out because i know i will want them again one day. probably. LOL :)
I just found your channel not too long ago and I LOVE everything you do! You're so informative and real while keeping a cute and upbeat personality! I need to get more into binders for planning stuff out! Oh, and your purple nails are pretty haha.
My rule for buying stationery/planners is I never spend more than $50 on any one item or things cause planning can get very expensive and it’s easy to get caught up in ooh I want this ooh I want that when you see all the cute nice things but you have to ask your yourself am I going to use that, can I use it multiple times or have it for a long time and am I gonna get my moneys worth, trying to find different excuses or justify buying stuff you know you don’t need doesn’t help, you just have to tell yourself you don’t need it yes it’s your money to spend it however you want but I don’t like wasting money and stuff that becomes hoarding junk that you can’t sale or get rid of
I like the lavender and also the black one. Your dividers are so cute! Do you use scissors to trim your lamanated dividers ordo you use an exact knife. They look perfect. Mine look ok for the most part, but at the tab area I have a hard time cutting them around the curves. I use scissors.
Hi, do the Filofax inserts fit in the Kiki K binders? I would like to to use the calenders from Filofax but maybe order a Kiki K binder. The Kiki K planners don't come with dated calenders, do they? Which planner do you prefer? Filofax or Kiki K?
Question for the planner binder lovers is it possible to change/replace the snap on them, I tried googling it but couldn’t really find an answer to my question so thought I’d ask other planner lovers
Yes still using my A5 binders and I love it. Just recently did a flip through of my June setup. The biggest advantages for me are being able to customize the look whenever I want and being able to section out the inserts in any format that helps me, rather than having a set format i have to work with.
Heart Breathings the problem i have with my tn is that i still flipthrough a lot of the booklets. the idea i have with a ringbound planner is to have everything i want within a planner and in the specific order i want them. so i an thinking about getting a ringbound planner... oh which i would partly mix with my freedom of bullrtjournaling with just dotted inserts.
Geez, would be sooooo nice to see some of this stuff up here in Canada! Do you archive your inserts? If so, how? What's your process and do you box them, or... what?
Heart Breathings I am using a mini binder right now till I can make a binder decision. It holds the half letter sized pages. Would that fit the a5 binder.
Which one is your favorite?? I also have a beautiful gold Kikki K with black and white polka dots on the inside coming next week. :P I can't decide which is my favorite, though!
These are such a nice companion while I'm working. Thank you for sharing your planners with us always! So engaging and relaxing at the same time!
This is a great idea for me! I’m constantly changing planners and getting annoyed at myself for spending all that money. This is great
Omg!! I am sooooooooooo glad to see someone who is as addicted to planners and the binders from these brands as me!! Carpe Diem is my favorite planner binders. I’m currently uncoil my EC planner into a carpe diem and I’m loving it.
I love coming and watching this video every time I buy or want to buy a new planner. Seeing everyone’s 2020 set ups made me jealous so I got myself a Christmas present of a blush pink croco planner in personal size so I’m watching this so I don’t feel too decadent for getting another binder 🤣

Great video - TFS
Simple Stories / Carpe Diem has free printables - fun for more seasonable options that scratch the itch 😉
Thanks for the info 😊

I hear ya! From Franklin Covey to Levenger, ARC, then eight months in Happy Planner, I am now back to A5 and personal Filofax.

Yay!!! Excited to hear the program has been so helpful. Woohoo!
This idea is pretty brilliant! Great video!
1st time viewer! I like the teal/aqua one and that pink and palm frond one. Great video!
Please !!!! Where did you get that awesome striped pen ?!?!! I’m melting for it lol
No sorries. $182 down so far. :D I'm saying it's Christmas presents to myself 3 months early. lol Thank you!
i got the same color crush binder and also the floral dot carpe diem - love them! i have a similar collection of binders that i refuse to throw out because i know i will want them again one day. probably. LOL :)
Sarra, What kind of a printer do you use? I love your inserts.
This size looks like fun.
I think the floral dot is my favorite!
You are with your planners as I am with Field Notes, Blackwing, and fountain pens. Sigh.
I just found your channel not too long ago and I LOVE everything you do! You're so informative and real while keeping a cute and upbeat personality! I need to get more into binders for planning stuff out! Oh, and your purple nails are pretty haha.
Thank you!
My rule for buying stationery/planners is I never spend more than $50 on any one item or things cause planning can get very expensive and it’s easy to get caught up in ooh I want this ooh I want that when you see all the cute nice things but you have to ask your yourself am I going to use that, can I use it multiple times or have it for a long time and am I gonna get my moneys worth, trying to find different excuses or justify buying stuff you know you don’t need doesn’t help, you just have to tell yourself you don’t need it yes it’s your money to spend it however you want but I don’t like wasting money and stuff that becomes hoarding junk that you can’t sale or get rid of
Brilliant ideas! Thanks for justifying my planner illness... obsession... needs. You know what I mean!
Excellent ideas! So fun.
With all your experience with planners, have you tried Tony Robbin's RPM Life Planner?
I like the lavender and also the black one. Your dividers are so cute! Do you use scissors to trim your lamanated dividers ordo you use an exact knife. They look perfect. Mine look ok for the most part, but at the tab area I have a hard time cutting them around the curves. I use scissors.
I'm just using scissors, too! But thank you for the compliment! They don't look as perfect in person, haha
Do you have anyone approved to print your inserts for sale? I love the look of your system but I am OVER printing inserts lol.
Hi, do the Filofax inserts fit in the Kiki K binders? I would like to to use the calenders from Filofax but maybe order a Kiki K binder. The Kiki K planners don't come with dated calenders, do they? Which planner do you prefer? Filofax or Kiki K?
First video watched and subscribed. AMAZING! Love the polea dots one. Thank you!!!
Now I know what's wrong with me. I have Shiny Object Syndrome!! Thanks Doc! 😆
Question for the planner binder lovers is it possible to change/replace the snap on them, I tried googling it but couldn’t really find an answer to my question so thought I’d ask other planner lovers
Can you comment or compare the quality of the actual rings? I have a Franklin Planner I received last May and the rings are getting hard to open.
I love a good haul video! This is fab!
Which one or ones do you think you will use as your primary? I would really like to only put everything in 1 a5 size planner or 2 a5, the most.
I'm switching out every month so far! So I haven't really had a primary. I'm enjoying switching it up every month so far!
2 mins in and relate soooo much!!
Do you still have all of them are you planning on ever selling any of them
Planner addiction -- we all have it! =^..^=
They’re gorgeous! 😍
Thank you!
curious, are you still using this system? what are the pros of using an A5 binder?
Yes still using my A5 binders and I love it. Just recently did a flip through of my June setup. The biggest advantages for me are being able to customize the look whenever I want and being able to section out the inserts in any format that helps me, rather than having a set format i have to work with.
Heart Breathings
the problem i have with my tn is that i still flipthrough a lot of the booklets. the idea i have with a ringbound planner is to have everything i want within a planner and in the specific order i want them. so i an thinking about getting a ringbound planner... oh which i would partly mix with my freedom of bullrtjournaling with just dotted inserts.
Any new update on those or new ones?
What do you use to carry these in?
Geez, would be sooooo nice to see some of this stuff up here in Canada!
Do you archive your inserts? If so, how? What's your process and do you box them, or... what?
what is this buy sell trade thing? what do i look for on facebook?
Very cool
Couldn't move my eyes off your gorgeous hands... what's that ring called?
Loved your idea I have the the same jealousy issues lol!
Good idea.
How did you make the dividers?
I’m like u. When I see something that would be cool and interesting, I want it now ☺️😉
i will now buy them all lol
What part of SC?
Im sure u gonna buy more binders next year =3
Is A5 bigger than B6? I need something a tad bigger
A5 is bigger than b6
Does A5 mean the size?
Yes , A5 is the size. It's close to half of a letter sized page, but not exactly.
Heart Breathings I am using a mini binder right now till I can make a binder decision. It holds the half letter sized pages. Would that fit the a5 binder.
#lifegoals 😊
