Question about Disk management steps... When you entered disk management after the SSD install, a window pops up giving you options for Partition Style, MBR (Master Boot record) or GPT (GUID Partition Table)... You skipped talking about this but I noticed that you had MBR selected. Is MBR the correct choice for adding a second storage volume SSD? I have the Samsung 870 QVO 4TB to install for this purpose...Thank you for any clarification.

But when I used the Samsung Data Migration, I didn't need to use BIOS at all. Everything worked fine.

Samsung Magician is amazing. Cloning from a 256g WD to a Samsung 980 Pro took 17:50. Samsung Magician estimated 30 minutes to complete the job, but it took just over half that amount of time. Cloning is super simple and takes almost no time at all.
I used an SSK M.2 NVME/SATA SSD Enclosure to house the new drive during cloning and plugged it into a lightning port, ran through the format process for the new drive, opened Samsung Magician and a couple clicks later it was running. It's literally that simple. No extra software to do the job 100%.
I stored the original 256G NVME drive in the enclosure in case of future emergency. I couldn't be more satisfied.

quick question sir, do I really have to swap the SATA cables for the mobo to boot the new ssd? Or it’s okay to not swap and just go to boot on BIOS and make the new SSD The top priority to boot?

    • @UltimateTechHub

You can go into the BIOS and change the boot order. However for my old X79 mobo it didn't work. Probably just an old mobo isseu....Lol! I need a new Rig!! Thank you for watching and that was a great question!
