  • The 3D printing lab at EVMS is filled with body parts - eyeballs, skulls, mouths and plastic fetuses. Using CT and MRI scans of actual body parts, Dr. Goodmurphy's team can quickly and affordably print trainers that students can practice on. They can suture the cornea and cleft palate, biopsy the silicone and ultrasound the fetus to determine its size and age without putting a real patient through an exam over and over again. "This is the fusion of art and science," says lab consultant Miro Kirov, "with the added complexity of the human form." For more, visit evms.edu/DigitalMagazine.
