    CORRECTION: THE YAMAHA R1 DOES COME WITH A BUILT-N STEERING DAMPER.

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  8 лет назад +3

      Kawi isn't built in, on top of triple tree, add-on mod. The newer ones come with a SD but it's still on top of the triple tree. When I say built-in, I mean out of sight and incorporated underneath the fairings.

    I have the same bike, mine just hit 4000 miles and I bought it in mid 2013 as a leftover model and similarly got a sweet deal. I´ve ridden it on the track and it´s just a dream to ride. I have a 2008 GSXR600 as well and much prefer riding the 1000RR on the track due to the beautiful engine, smooth transmission and fantastic suspension. I almost want to say that the bike rides itself as it handles so well on the track! LOL!

    I put around 12,000 miles on my 2013 cbr1k repsol ,, no problems at all , only parts changed were yoshimura r77 slip on , motul 300v oil changes, ebc brake pads, and bridgestone s20 tires . Lots of ppl underrate these bikes but I've raced a few r1, gsxr 1k, bmw s1, rsv4 and I beat all. It's all about the Rider. I weigh 150lb with gear on that might be another ++++

      He doesn't go to the track so the cbr1000rr is an obvious choice. He owned a lexus car, and was going to get a ninja 250 but ended up being an issue. I don't think he's a honda fan boy. It's just the bike that suits his needs more.

I’ve had quite a few of these bike what you notice is that Honda build them well, there is thought that goes into them and for me they seem to make you a better or faster rider... the Repsol with a yosh will do nicely sir... Thanks for a great review.

    Travis M. The reason I asked CC to do a review is because he can go to the nearest dealer a do a test ride and give his take on it. I would do it but the Indian is not available in the country I am in. I will have to purchase it when I return to the states. CC did a test ride on the Harley breakout and I would like to see a review on the Indian.

    You can hate honda ,the look of the brand,the speed and other things but honda is maybe the most trust bike brand that exist and the mechanic of the bikes is far way better then the others(generally) and they are much more confortable and economic.If they improve the design and speed of the future bikes ,honda will be the best brand without any problems.
    (In MotoGp the speed is crucial so honda made a bike that is a monster just like the yamaha.Just to say that if they want they made it!)

My bike is a 2006 zzr6 carbureted so i imagine its going to be so much different on a fuel injected bike and much more smooth

    I know this is an old post, and don't want to insult anybody, but all of those bikes have steering dampers, and the R1's is electronic, speed sensitive. There isn't a supersport now that DOESN't come with one.

    Mine 07 ninja zx10r does have engine vibrations between 2k-3.5k rpm something like that. It might be tiny more after i installed frame slider. Because my left side suppose comes with a spacer at front engine mount. Now im just tight it as much as possible and the reserve coolant container is on the outside of that left side so it hleps pushing the bolt in. Man ,im going to the dealership to conpare their other zx10r same model year to see if both have the same vibration if it does i can relax stop worrying.

    C squared what's good man. Got the new blk blade. Wondering why when I open it up on the highway does it sound like a rattling under tank. Or what could that be. Rpms to low when I juice it maybe?

    I will be getting a second bike in addition to my '12 Fireblade. Considering either RSV4 or MV Agusta F4. CycleCruza, you have not mentioned MV Agusta in you selection. I know it is rather an exotic bike, so the parts and maintenance may become an issue. But besides that, what is your opinion on it as far realibility, looks and performance? In my opinion it looks better than Ducati.

    on the zx10r there is a built in steering damper made by ohlins. you were looking right at it lol

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  10 лет назад

      That's not what you would call 'built-in,' that's a set-top steering damper, meaning that ohlins steering damper can be added to any bike's triple tree. A built-in steering damper is actually built within the bike, underneath and out of sight like honda's HESD.

    I think all bikes have clutchless upshifts, even off road bikes. The only downside to the R1 is the rear, i agree with you it is off. Friend of mine selling his CBR1000 and now riding R1. He said he prefers the CBR, but the cost difference is too much. (dont ask, that is what he said). R1 sounds amazing though

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  10 лет назад

      It's all personal preference. The new 2015 R1 looks like it will be a great bike but we'll see. I'm looking forward to the reviews on the new R1.

    • @africanhistory
      @africanhistory 10 лет назад

      I cant stand the look of the thing. What a departure. All the signature of the R1 is lost. Porsche is a good example of how to keep your stuff going forward while keeping your signature. But each to his own, I know you like the new R1.

    • @Mike-dy8sj
      @Mike-dy8sj 9 лет назад

      Um..... you put it in your right hand.... And then you pull in the clutch..... And then you step on the rear brake.... Not exactly very complicated.... Just takes a tiny bit of common sense to understand.

    I'm sorry CC but I4 riders talking about low end and midrange power is like midgets arguing about which one is the tallest. If you want a liter bike with grunt off the line you either need the RC8R, the Panigale, or the EBR. The twins are making more torque just above tickover than any of the I4s make anywhere below like 9K RPM.

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  10 лет назад

      Twins produce more buzz vibrations which can be irritating on long rides, also I'm not a fan of the sound of the twins. For me, sound is nearly as important as power. However, we all have our own preferences.

    I wanna get a yzf r3 as a first bike but it doesn't have Abs here in the states is it still a good choice

    • @CycleCruza
      @CycleCruza  10 лет назад

      Personally, I prefer non-abs because the brakes are actually stronger. I had abs on my cbr250r and didn't care for it. It's a great safety feature but if you are not going to ride in the rain then it's not really necessary. You will just have to develop proper braking skills.
