That slaps a big ol’, “filter of innocence” over the grand image of it all. We may see darkness, and recognize it, as children, but the better part of our experience in youth are the building blocks of who we’ve become. So as well as the nostalgia, you’ve got the fact that simply less bad had happened in comparison to your first time experiences, or what have you. At this age, we’re hitting that hill, it’s us out here now that are having to step into (enter adulting activities here) be that political standings, or simply the threat of age creeping up, and the loss of good friends, the loss of bad friends, and all the other shit that we start seeing when we’re metaphorically, and literally, “finally tall enough to peek over the fence.” It adds up, and the mind tends to hold onto the things that damaged it for longer times than the things that healed it. So we just put another filter over our own eyes, that blocks out most of the negativity we saw and underwent as wee little folk, and label it, “The good old days” where it was all simpler, the grass was greener, and life was great.” It’s either this or the flip. Where life isn’t really as bad as we start making it out to be right as we hit this mid-life crisis age. 😂😂 Either way, keep on keeping on, bro. Make the best of things, cause time has no remorse. You will regret not living in the here and now, when you make it to the later, cause that filter label will tell you that these are, “the good ol days.” And if we ain’t got some actual good memories in stored in those files, life is gonna seem real bleak. This is proof that dubstep doesn't have to be base-busting badassery. It can be a relatively simple remix done with style, not just hiding behind an exaggerated base drop. This song is made well: it has the perfect mix of base and dubstep sounds while still retaining Linkin Park's iconic sound. Props to whoever made it. RIP Chester Bennington. I'm only 15, I didn't exactly grow up with Chester and Linkin Park, but they are by far my favorite band. I have a distinct memory from long ago of hearing Linkin Park's Waiting for the End playing in my dad's car and me asking him who made the song. He told me Linkin Park. For weeks everytime I was in my dad's car I begged him to play Waiting for the End. I was too young to quite understand the concept of a car radio! From that day on, I became a fan. And now, they are my favorite band. Two years ago for my 13th bday, my dad promised me that the next time they came to our area, he would take me and get us front row tickets no matter the cost. to be fair, I wrote this at a time when experimenting in dubstep was a good thing and have a back catalogue of literally over a hundred tracks of original 'deep' dub influenced by the likes of mala, coki, benga and skream and this was done after losing a bet. Can't really judge an artist off one bootleg remix done nearly 10 years ago...
