As an USAF retiree, this is a sobering, yet eye opening video; which for me is one of your best montage honoring all our service members - Past - Present and Future KYD has posted to date. Thank You and God Bless America.
Thank your son and thanks to you two for raising a son that is willing to fight for this country and people he will never know. "Freedom is a fragile thing and it's never more than one generation away from extinction." Ronald Regan
As a retired military member and one who has seen these ceremonies countless times it never ceases to amaze me just how much they affect me. You did an amazing job documenting these time honored traditions that mean so much to so many. I am thankful for you both!
Yes, agree excellent! I have even participated in a military funeral. So difficult and yes I was with tears running down my face, the sailor was a fellow shipmate.
My wife and I feel the need to watch this video every national holiday to help us appreciate the freedom we have! Thank you to those brave men and women who sacrificed so much for the freedoms we have today!!!
The transition from "Taps" to the soldier at the Tomb was incredible. As everyone is remarking, this truly was a special episode that pulls at the heart strings. Thank you for all you do and thanks for always taking us along. That really was very sobering.
Thank you so much for this video!! ❤️❤️❤️. It meant so much! Our son is currently deployed with the 7th fleet to support the withdrawal of Americans from Afghanistan…it warms our hearts to see our favorite you tubers acknowledging and celebrating the sacrifices that our enlisted men and women make every day ❤️ Thank you Mark and Trisha!
me too. I am 74 and a Marine Corps helicopter pilot, Viet Nam. I think of those men we medevaced, some wounded and some permanent routine. I feel like we have lost something from the time I grew up. It was good to see this video honoring our military.
🇺🇸💪🏼 This truly was a KYD special indeed. We must never forget those that gave everything and paid the ultimate price for our freedom and those that put on the uniform everyday ready to go into battle. We, Americans owe a great gratitude to all service men & women who stand guard to protect our liberties and freedoms every day, every hour and every second. 🇺🇸💪🏼
This veteran wants to thank you for sharing this wonderful experience with all of us. I never tire of seeing ceremonies and drills performed by our armed forces personnel. Such a powerful reminder of the sacrifices that sustain our nation's freedom.
Thank you for your service. Curious how many sit down you had with Generals? My brother has served over 20 years and 4 tours. Guess how many sit downs and Ivy League ceremonies? Zero. Doesn’t that upset you even in the least?
We The People have the duty to hold enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC responsible for their actions against our country. This is how we honor these warriors! The gave up everything to provide our freedom...now it's our turn to pay them back. Beautiful tribute you guys.
Great episode. Been retired from the Marine Corps for 20 years, but seeing those Marines execute like that still gives me goosebumps. A good friend of mine is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. Corporal David L Daugherty was killed in action on 04 Dec 1983 when we were in Beirut. He’s in Section 59 grave 621. I’ve been to visit him a few times when I go up to DC to run the Marine Corps Marathon. Thanks for the respect y’all showed in this episode.
Having served this amazing country for 12 years active duty, in war and peace my visit to Arlington was a sobering and at times a sad time. Serving and fighting... , when taps is played it is difficult to hold back tears , there I wasn't able to do that. The gravity of serving hits hard there... God bless my brothers and sisters who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.. democracy and freedom is not free, but it is worth fighting for. Thank you for showing a national treasure.
This episode brought a tear to my eyes. My father and mother are buried in Arlington. Each year our annual celebration is in December for the laying of the wreaths (Wreaths Across America) It almost got cancelled last year but our 45th President wouldn’t hear of it. My college roommate’s father was commandant of the Naval Academy in the early 70’s. Oh the parties. So many great memories. So happy you enjoyed your visit.
My husband and I of nearly 35 years met years ago as members of an Air Force Air National Guard Band and have been RVers for nearly that long as well. Enjoyed this episode but particularly Trish’s narrated ending at Arlington, which we have also seen in person. Few places will stun our hearts like a National Cemetery where we are reminded of the extreme cost of American freedom. Thank you for this respectful and thoughtful video tonight.
Watched this today - needing a break from the horrific current news. Knowing 13 US families will now have a flag draped coffin and face their own burials has burst my heart in grief for them. The timing of this video is surreal. So many have sacrificed it all and I suppose will continue to. Hug your son - he’s a hero. Thank you for honoring our military.
Thank you. It has been 10 years since I first saw all of this with my vietnam veteran father. In the middle of my living room, I stood for taps and was brought to tears like it was yesterday. I can't thank you enough for reminding me of the beauty and the emotion that is Arlington. Thank you to our soldiers past, present and future. Thank you, kyd. This was beautiful.
As a Air Force Veteran, thank you for this video. it is very special that you did this little tribute. I wish more people remember what/who has been sacrificed.
As the wife of a former Marine, now active National Guard soldier, and mother of a National Guard soldier, I just want to say thank you so much for this. Thank you. ❤️
Thank you both for, a very emotional for me, and honoring tribute. And thank your son for choosing to defend this County. My grandfather is buried there and my father at another military cemetery. My husband is a retired police officer after 27 years and my two daughters and son-in-law are all in law enforcement and I support the Navy as a contractor. I’m proud of all the choices we have made to server this country.
As a female Army veteran, I always appreciate when the men and women of our nation’s armed forces are recognized for their sacrifice and bravery. Thank You! ❤️ the 🇺🇸 Military!
Awesome episode ! As a 10 USAF vet and retired LEO .. I cannot watch something like this without all of the emotions ... I have not seen any other channel honor those who currently serve or have served. Thank you for showing the best of this great country
I was a US Army Old Guard escort for the US Army twighlight tattoo performed at the elipse. Its another great ceremony to see while in DC. Great video.
A big salute to you, Stephen! I have seen that ceremony, and it is awesome. I know you were squared away to have been in the Old Guard. Thank you for your service!
I got chills seeing this--we owe our servicemen and women so much. Thank you for this patriotic and lovely video. Annapolis, MD is a favorite of mine, very charming.
Nicely done! Thank you for honoring the Marines, the Drill Team, and those buried at Arlington. Sent a chill... For a real thrill, be in downtown Annapolis during the Naval Academy's geaduation, when the Blue Angels do a celebratory fly-over at about 501 ft. off the deck! Best regards, a former Naval Officer, Vietnam Veteran, & KYD-follower
It's been 30 years since I've been to the Marine Barracks. So glad you got such good footage to share. Brings back lots of wonderful memories. What a treasure. I hope Carson understands sometimes we need to open the unexpected door to get where we need to be. Stay safe and healthy.
Thank you for this video. Arlington is a very special place. My sister and her husband are buried there and the interment ceremony for my sister was something very special.
Why am I in tears at the end of this video? It is because I am so grateful to live in such a great country. Thank you to all past present & future military. I am forever thankful for your dedication.
My wife and I have attended a burial of a relative at Arlington. We will never forget the privilege. The ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a must see.

I'm so overwhelmed by this video. As a daughter of a Veteran, I truly loved seeing each and every moment of this. Your commentary and video was just amazing and I'm forever grateful to your love of our country to take the time to document this.
As US Army vets and 20 year contractors down the street from The Barracks, we’ve had the privilege of witnessing the Parade many times, along with the Arlington Cemetery and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. All are breathtaking and humbling. You have shown great respect for each and the military members. We thank you for coverage, memories and respect.
Thank you for bringing us along to this amazingly wonderful these places, some of them showing Beauty, Historical Wonder and also showing a place of Sobering Reverence that Exhibits Expanse of Loss and Reflecting the Highest Honour imaginable. Some of us never will be able to visit, but your episodes are so well done that we have some sense of being there. Trish your Voice Shines during the commentary as. You verbally guide us through the Highlights. We all look forward to KYD Sundays and the episodes touch all our emotions because they are skilfully and lovingly crafted. 😊✨KYD✨👍👍👍
My daughter (23) is a MP in the Army. She’s stationed in Germany and I admire the hard work, dedication, love of country and determination that she and all soldiers display. Thank you to the veterans and soldiers for your service. And thank you to the families for your support.
Our Son in Law is a Marine Officer, he was posted in DC for 3 years, we saw the parade, awesome. When our daughter and him got married, the reception was at the Naval Academy. As DC area residents we've been lucky to visit all the monuments & ceremonies. Great video!
Just watched video at Arlington. This may be the most moving video you've ever made. My family and I have visited there. We spent several hours there. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thank you for showing a reason why I love my country. When will we stop listening to people who tell us we cannot love one another. Today's video showed people of all colors gave their lives for our country and our freedom. May God bless them and us never forget them.
What a beautiful special episode of KYD. I have been to Arlington and every time I see footage of it, I get that same tingling feeling just like when I was there. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. God Bless our men and women in uniform and The United States of America.
Having grown up in Annapolis, seeing the midshipman on a daily basis, listening to the blue angels fly over for graduation ceremonies, and countless trips to DC… your ability to capture the essence of time honored traditions and reverence to our country is fantastic, and is a sobering reminder of why WE are blessed to call this nation HOME.
The editing, filming and content are stellar! Great job KYD! Been following from the beginning and always give your family credit for our -so far- 4 year journey! We love you!
Thank you KYD. It brought Goosebumps to my body and tears to my eyes. 33 yrs Air Force special ops. It doesn't matter which branch of service, I needed this. Thank you so much.❤🇺🇲
Such a wonderful video, I watched while eating my tomatoe and goat cheese appetizer from my new cookbook by Tricia Leach...thank you for my little treat along with the book...
Growing up I NH, as the daughter of a AF vet, we always traveled the East Coast to historical places. Arlington is one I had been to many times. The ceremony was/is always impressive, but I could not hold back the tears seeing the cemetery again. I felt like a child again with so much respect for our heros. The admiration of what our family's go through and now have to live with or without continues to bring great honor to me and my family and friends! Carson, you are inspiring! Welcome home vets!!!
We have been watching your adventures for years and hands down this was the best produced and visually stimulating video you have done to date. Thanks for the effort.
This was a treat to watch! Today would have been my fathers 95 birthday. He was a Navy WWII veteran. He loved this country and would have loved this video!
Growing up as a military brat and now having a son that is a pilot in the USAF and station in the Middle East. The ceremonies are breath taking honoring men and women who dedicated and sacrifice so much to keep this country free. TY KYD!

I'm so overwhelmed by this video. As a daughter of a Veteran, I truly loved seeing each and every moment of this. Your commentary and video was just amazing and I'm forever grateful to your love of our country to take the time to document this.
Thank you for sharing, and thank you to all veterans (including my grandfather who died in WWII)
So Proud. I’m a retired 30 year Air Force Civilian.
It’s a wonderful feeling to see our military, no matter the service, in action.
Thank you for the reflection of an honorable moment. From a Navy veteran thank you Marc and Trish
The sunset parade of the Marine Corps silent drill team was the highlight of my trip to DC.
Great episode! As a Navy brat…I’m a bit biased to the Navy. Thanks to all that have served, are serving, and those that will serve!
Growing up as a military brat and now having a son that is a pilot in the USAF and station in the Middle East. The ceremonies are breath taking honoring men and women who dedicated and sacrifice so much to keep this country free. TY KYD!
