Really love Suzukis design with these headlights
Are you serious? It looks disgusting imo.
@@CriticalRider No, all the other manufacturers have basically the same headlights nowadays for sports bikes. Nakeds also all have the same angular ones. Suzuki goes a different way and I like the way it looks.
@@Dschinghiss I just saw the new Duke 990. I guess this one is pretty, in comparison.
@@CriticalRider At least we can agree on that lol
I like them too, a lot better than the similar style on their bigger bike.
Suzuki is killing it with their styling.
It does look good. With the raised clip ons it'll definitely have a more lower back friendly rider triangle compared to it's competitors. So it could be a better all rounder for the middleweight market.
I love it. I'm still a sucker for the round double headlights from the ole' days but at least the lights are different.
Always loved my Japanese bikes especially Suzuki and am a big fan of nakeds so love the looks of the GSX-8S but saying that being an older fella and rider not wanting to set the world on fire this new GSX-8R looks like a great bike. Got to the point where I don’t want a big power bike just something to enjoy a good fun ride on.
yep agree, sth affordable not dreadfull to drive.
Suzuki have done a really good job with styling, in my opinion it looks better than the ninja 650 and I’d definitely buy the Suzuki over the Kawasaki. It definitely looks fun to ride and up for some short touring. The blue looks great and the silver with the red wheels and lettering. Nice one Suzuki!
Ninja 650s are looking really dated comparatively in this segment.
Agree
my 8s takes my friends lunch money on his ninja 650 he also has sprockets and flash lol
@@RadiantLooniewould love to do that on every 650 kawis xD
Absolutly better than kawasaki. :)
These days u can get better gps apps on phone than on squid dispaly.
Exactly what we expected. I would go for this over my 8s. But not crazy enough to take the hit on a year old bike to get the new version.
im kinda feeling the same but i honestly like our bars more... those look kinda ninja650ish
It's quite there but still not the gsxr that we desire. But I'm really happy Suzuki is trying to be back with a bang. Hopefully this motivates them to go all out and get into superbike category as well with all the electronics and crazy power. Need to bring back that legendary gsxr era back
It is far more usable than 200hp superbike. Suzuki already has a couple of those, they don't need more.
But it difficult when we are used to inline 600s to drop 50 bhp without "feeling" this is the wrong direction. Unfortunately like cars I am now chasing a price, not a desirability.
But I just saw the Honda CBR600, is back, I just need them to keep it under £10,000, they won't.
The reality is that low displacement inline fours doesn't sell. People want "usable power", i.e. torque down low, which parallel twins provide at an affordable price. Not only that, most people seem to prefer the twin sound, especially with the 270 crank.
Also, remember that this is Suzuki we're talking about. They've made a new platform with the parallel twin, and they're going to milk it hard across multiple models. The new GX uses the revised K5 from the Katana.
Why not just get a 1000cc bike? GSX-S1000 nakeds are having their prices heavily cut to get them off the showroom. In my country, you can get them brand new for the price of a mt-09@@dynamicdad1054
Beautiful design. They should also make a Touring package for this bike. With touring windscreen, GPS/Smartphone mount, heated grips and luggage.
Vstrom 800 RE vs DE for offroad. Pretty close, just less sporty looking.
@@Legotruck82 Those not only less sporty, but also very ugly bikes.
ADV bikes are also worse in handling on-road, with those bigger wheels. Less fun to ride.
Sadly, the 8R has the same super short rear like the 8S. Suzukis own "case" Options are a joke. Just some non-lockable soft bags. There is no luggage support for the 8S from Givi or Shad, only hideous Top Cases. Simply no space to fit any form of side-rack. Only Hepco & Becker has their C-Bow System for the 8S / 8R. But the Luggage Option for this System is more or less for short Weekend Trips (15-20l per side). 5cm longer rear and this would be the best middle weight sport tourer, for a great price. But this actual kills it for me.
@lucke1022 but do u really need hard plastic bags to carry luggage? Most people dont.
Luggage , windscreen and USB port are in accesories. even if theres no USB port jus get powerbank and tankbag cmon its 2023!
@@eldiablomatadore8580 yeah, how I travel, I need them. Right now I have the Givi V37. Best Luggage system I ever had. I know it would be no problem with bigger bikes or adv's but the 8R is more than enough, and I really like the engine and the looks. Took the 8S for a spin a couple of times this year and this engine is just perfect. It's just a shame.
I have the 8s and love it, but I do like the look of this one too. I expected them to release gsx8gt for those who like smaller bikes to tour on, perhaps this will come later.
Too many lettters :) its realy a GT but named with R for less jibberish
@@eldiablomatadore8580is the riding position comfortable for long days though?
Hope to see that engine in a retro style bike form Suzuki
oh it will be. This platform has been in development technically since 2013, they will wring as many bikes from it as possible. it is almost certain that the next bike in the lineup will be the "GSX-8F" similar to the recursion concept bike from Suzuki. It will be sort of a more utilitarian XSR if that makes sense
Bob, I'd really like if you'd switch to Euros or USD for the prices. Pounds are a niche currency and most of the audience can't relate. And yes, I understand that's where you're from and all, just take a minute to think about it.
I like the nose and tank. The 8R makes a nice family connection between the looks of the 8S and the Katana.
yep katana vibes def.
great video man thanks. bin torn with the r7 and this but tbh this seems so superior
The design is really great. Great job Suzuki.
I like the way the bike looks. If they can refresh the gsxr 750 with that headlight and tft, I’d be all over that.
Looks alot better than the 8S, i hate the front on the 8S. This one i really like :D
Great coverage Moto Bob. You do a great job. 10 out of 10 for your content.
Pure Eye Candy!! 3rd time is the charm 😎❤ U got me Suzuki. First the Katana then the 8s and now this design 😍🤤 ...sorry but the r1s etc already are gorgeous but this design direction only leaves the mind to wonder 👏 Bravo 🎉
agreed
I have the GSX8s, and while I like the looks of the naked bike, I love the look of this new bike. If they put a similar fairing on the 8S (and called it the GSX8B, for Better looking), without changing anything else, it would look really great and still be a comfortable everyday commuter.
Looks comfy, the bars are pretty high for an "R", this peeks my interest. :)
I'm much more interested in the new GSX-S1000-GX it looks awesome. Fancied the GT originally, but this looks like it will really hit the mark.
considering trading in my 8s for one lmao
Those are some interesting pseudo handle-clip-ons. Looks like it gives you a side mount angle and they look pretty flat. Unfortunately, doesn't look like there is a lot of room to lower them if you wanted to go with adjustable aftermarket options :/
love it! Can't wait to know the price!
This bike has turned me from a Kawi fan to a die-hard gixxer bruh lol.....keen as to buy one of these, I'm sold
suzuki sv 650s successor finally ! Loved the both i owned
yep def upgrade over SV
Definitely a nice bike. Don't think I'd buy it over an R7 though.
Very happy that Suzuki isn't just going to fade away.
i would rather have this than r7 over long term.
Now that's is BIG W for Suzuki
MUCH better looking than the 'batwing' version (8S). I'm really tempted by this one! By the specs it will be similar to ride to my old 1980's GSX 750 ES (apart from the sound) which I loved and rode all over the place. That would be good.
I love the looks so much.
Really love the metallic silver with red wheels..
Looks a bit like a Gen 3 'Busa from the front! I love it!!!
in canada the cost of the bike is 11,599 and it comes in blue, yellow, silver
Wow!! Interesting
Dang those head unit gives me K7 design vibes , great design
Looks super good. Out of modern headlights design, I think it's Suzuki that nailed it
Best looking 650ish category bike, has hints of the old gsxr 750 even with that stacked headlight imo
Looks fantastic,love the grey colour.
I love it, very cool bike!!🫶🏽🤙🏽🤘🏽
Suzuki are now making the best looking Japanese motorbikes✌🏽
Nah. but yamaha is digging its own grave for sure.
The bike is very beautiful. Put a bigger windshield and some light luggage, and could be a decent small tourer.
Looks dope af. I'm seriously considering this as my 2nd bike.
All rounder grand tourer ! I like it.
Price in Euros is 9.700,00 including VAT
Please show us more of the new Ninja 500.
Nice. These will be everywhere and I guarantee they haul ass with a tune and mods. Cant beat Suzuki reliabilty!
Reminds me of a VFR800
It's a truly gorgeous bike, saw it in person at the NEC. The only thing that upsets me is the power - for an extra £1000 (or there abouts) you can get an Aprilia RS660 - which is a riotous bike. That said... There's a lot to be said about a solid road-friendly sports package with a 7 year warranty!
Great video as always MOTOBOB! I live in the States and I just saw it on Suzuki’s website this morning. Love it completely. In the U.S. we get the option of a Pearl Yellow color. Definitely getting one in the spring.
Based on my experience, here in the U.S. we don't get great color choices. My last 3 bikes have been black because that is all I could get.
Looks great and hopefully the Showa suspension is better. Worried about the comment that it is firmer. Fine for the track but on fun B roads where ordinary people ride, the 8S is already firm. I think they missed a beat here not charging a bit more and adding adjusters..
6:44 nice angle!
Price in Germany is 9800 Euro - without delivery costs.
This and honda new 600RR and 650R made my ZX4RR really nervous
I m getting this thing :) Full accesories :)
Drove already on 8S, I did like it just not the look.
Finally it looks good enough to add exhaust and call it a day.
Looking to start riding in the new year and I love the look of this bike 😍 high up on my list to check out
i love this Bike SUZUKI GSX 8R hope someday i have one
I think I like this look wise even more than the 8S. More aggressive than the 8S but more elegant than its sport/SS counterparts
If you add a case to the 8R, then you can sell it directly as a GT. It's beautiful, and I also think it's good in terms of performance. The price will be exciting. With a naked bike handlebar, it would also be something for comfortable riding. Suzuki really needs to step on the gas here, Yamaha is doing a marvellous job with the 700cc platform. I wish Suzuki the best of luck, they have neglected the European market for far too long. Greetings from Germany.
Best looking bike I've seen so far from the EICMA videos. I think I just became a gixxxer bro...
the most beautiful 800cc now a days Suzuki is number one since Birth
Put a deposit down on the Yellow we get in the US. It was a toss up between this and the new Daytona 660.
Sweet and short: ‘I love it!!’
Star of the show for me.
Looks Awesome, just hope someone’s gonna do hard panniers for it an a touring screen.
Whats the bike in the middle, at 0:12s?
Nothing will ever beat the GSX-R 600 n the 750 ..
I'm not keen on the front end of the 8s, but with the fairing for me yep I'd buy one, especially in the silver.
I like it.
I can hardly believe I'm saying this, but I like the design of the GSX 8R better than the XSR900 GP.😳
It's got me wondering now, the GP is great but this might fit my wallet better.
anyone else noticed that stunner at 6:42?
1:36 seat height is 810mm (not = 910) right?
Damn, Suzuki is doing big things I see! Love the direction they are going in...
thank you man for this good news. well done suzuki for the GSX-8R
Suzuki's starting to make good-looking bikes again. Good to see.
Suzuki the best motor in the word
Feel like the transformer stacked headlight doesn't work well with this sport bike design. Works well with the street bike variant though.
It isnt a single handle bar, but they arent clips ons, they're "bolt ons"?
As much as I like The Suzuki GSX-8R, I feel Suzuki should design a smaller variant, say a 300-400cc version, to fill the gap the GSX250R had. I personally need more than a 125cc but don't need a 700-1000cc bike. Come on Suzuki, please re-introduce the GSX250R with a bigger bore or a smaller GSX-4R.
There is also a yellow and black for the US market.
1:35 - *810mm
It looks good, but... why did Suzuki stop making the GSX family altogether?
Just why?
The 2017 family was GORGEOUS.
people stopped buying them to drive on road. Gixxers that were buying them grew up and bought vstroms some of them just never grew up.
@@eldiablomatadore8580 so you're telling me, despite the GSX family of 2017 was objectively beautiful, that sales went downhill?
Oh well... sigh.
I would rather have this bike than the naked version. and it looks nice in Blue.
typo on the seat height? @1:35
when did NM of torque become a thing???
I really love the GSX-S1000 naked design, i don't know why people don't talk about it
Was really looking forward to this bike and possibly buying one, i like it but feel Suzuki should of made it more of a sports bike, looks more like a sports tourer!, Which is a bit of a disappointment.
6:11 i want to select whats in the background though
I’ve a 650 I liked the S so I’m glad there’s an R. Could tempt me to swap.
Ye it gotta suck to own 8S now. After seein this
Dobrzy że nie ma clip-on bo bym dzisiaj już nie mógł spać przez niego.
Motobob when are you going to ride one ?
Press bike booked in for September. Can’t do it any sooner I’m afraid as we’re super busy until then
@@motobob Cannot wait to hear your take on it. Thank you for the reply
how is this different than the old 750 gsxr ?
Did the final drive remain unchanged or did they make it a bit longer, like they did with the R7, so it can go a bit faster than the naked bike? Looks a bit meh. Kinda like the Ninja 650. I was hoping it would be more sporty. Suzuki is kinda lacking in that department since the GSX-R 600 and 1000 are not sold anymore.
Suzuki so dope
holy smokes, we need this in india ❤
What about the new Suzuki GSX S1000 GX?
I’ve got the 8S and this looks exactly the same with the added fairing. £9K may be difficult as you get get a discounted RS660 for about £9600. If the pegs are in the same place they grind out far too soon. Looking forward to a test ride though.
Its the same footpegs.
Looks good but it's no sports bike so somewhat of a misplaced R maybe. Although not a big deal really as long as you know what you're dealing with, which is a seemingly decent sports tourer.
where is the new GSX 1000 GX, that bike might be the best reveal of the year.
I'd go this 8R over the R7, I hate to say this but Yamaha's CP2 engine is getting seriously outclassed by it's latest rivals.
Very very nice machine.
Excellent Bike ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Like the look. But on paper, the Aprilia RS660 isa chunk lighter, more powerful, quick shifter too, cruise control, cornering ABS, and less than £1k more…
