Almost click ‘buy’ when Jody announced his project.
The watch is great in look and specifications. However, since I had few diver watches and bought few more lately so I hold on the urge and wait for his version 2.
If the indexes are longer as it seems a tad short leaving the dial a bit ‘empty’; and if there’s distinctive design on the hour hand making it very easy to read at a glance either in bright and dark environment relying on lume, probably I will still make the purchase.
    Thanks for the review.

I’ve got an orange Origin. I’m pretty impressed by this watch! The only thing I can say about it that’s not great is the dial is a bit plain. However I appreciate the simplicity and the legibility is outstanding. One of the easiest to read of all my watches. The bezel action is fantastic. And it’s very comfortable with the on the fly adjustment. The bracelet is quite good.

Excellent review. I ordered the white dial version of the Erebus Origin several months ago. It arrived this week. On the whole I agree with your assessment. For an automatic watch at less than $400 it's an excellent value. I have only a couple of minor complaints.
First, if my watch were as accurate as yours I'd be delighted. Mine is losing about 15-20 seconds a day. Still within the advertised tolerance but the other watches in my collection (admittedly more expensive) are significantly more accurate. I've found that a watch's accuracy sometimes improves as it breaks in. So I'll give it a while to see if that's the case. And if it doesn't, I'll see if my watchmaker has any luck calibrating it.
Second, I've found the micro-adjustment on the bracelet to be a major "pita." It's virtually impossible to adjust reliably. That's not a major issue for me since I'm not a big fan of bracelets in general and I was able to get a good fit by removing links.. Furthermore, I prefer a rubber strap on a dive watch and replacing the bracelet with a black FKM rubber strap from Strap Habit was a simple task that (imo) improved the overall look and feel of the watch.
Bottom line. The Erebus Origin is a great value at around $400 including shipping to the US. I purchased mine sight unseen based on my fondness for Jody Musgrove's reviews on the "Just One More Watch" RUclips channel. I'm glad I did.

I preordered a purple on the curved H link bracelet with black strap pack. It arrived two weeks ago this coming Friday (16th Feb). Within 4 hours of having it on my wrist I ordered a second one in red on the flat H link bracelet. I freakin love them both! 💜❤️

Very nice. I have mine on the curbed H link bracelet love it. Edges a tad sharp but feels great on the wrist. My wife loved the aqua/light blue one. I think for the price and first out of the gate its a home run. Bu that's just my humble opinion. Thanks for watching and commenting. Enjoy those watches.

I have the blue and the black. I was tempted by the yellow. I also have both strap packs, but I would not bother ordering these. In my opinion it’s the perfect slightly showy tool watch. As for the NH35 movement Jody has said they have tried to supply the set well within the NH35 perimeters, could not guarantee this. Both mine run at +6 seconds per day. If your gut says this is the watch for you, trust your gut and your brain will thank you later !!!

Very good review, and I agree with all your points here. Received the blue one 8 days ago, and it hasn't left my wrist. I have mine on one of the rubber straps from strap pack, and it looks and feels great! I must have got lucky with the nh35. After 8 days it's only gained 1 second , we'll see how long that lasts.
Lume is fantastic, lasts all night, and I have no problem reading the time.
I figured Jody would put out a great product with his "moans and niggles" is his reviews over the years and he nailed it. First time seeing your channel, great job on the review! Subscribed
Look forward to your other videos, and always enjoy a "sotc" video. Good luck with your channel and hobby! Cheers

Totally agree, with all the things Jody has said over the years about things he didn't like I would hope that he would have made sure this watch didn't click those boxes lol. @@DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri, it was an attempt at humor in response to the comment by @mikko-of6cu that Erebus isn't a good name for a watch brand. I was implying that Erebus was actually Jody's third choice behind Parnis and Gigididi, but since those two names were already taken, Jody went with his third choice, Erebus. The intended joke was that Parnis and Gigadidi (both real brands!) are more ridiculous than Erebus. But, since I had to explain it, I guess it wasn't really a joke after all.

Unfortunately just too big. Seems to have missed the trend towards smaller watches. He has to compete with San Martin etc. not even close. Cannot understand that someone with so much knowledge has chosen to bring out another diver

    • @DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri
      @DivingIntoWatches-jb5ri  5 месяцев назад +1

Considering the dive watch is the number one watch sold of all styles it really doesn’t. Plus Erebus just dropped a new watch and it’s not a dive watch. Soooo…. Thanks for watching and commenting. As for San Martin unfortunately nothing original with them just flat out copies of other watch’s. If specs is all you want then sure San Martin, no originality low cost build etc. if all you are looking for is price and specs then San Martin is crap. Just buy a Casio F91w for $10 or a Casio AE-1200 for $30 bucks with 5 timers, stop watch GMT, alarm etc. just saying a lot more to a watch than just price and specs.
