    Of course, I talk to myself. Some days those are the most intelligent conversations I have.

    I think from watching so many RUclipsrs going through things they’re doing and verbally as well as visually explaining things. I picked up on that and started using it as my preferred way to problem solve. I’m able to think on the inside when necessary, however i do talk to myself on my own quite often. Makes the quiet of being out and about alone a little more tolerable.

    I used to do all of my own work. I loved it and I tried to get my kids interested also. But when you had to be everything from a code writer software engineer Mechanic to social worker 🙄 I gave it up. I'm enjoying driving a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with a 4.6 V8. Like you said find your car and enjoy it and I did! Thank you Steve

    I used to do all the mechanical and maintenance to the trucks my father drove....not by myself of course. I did as much as I physically could until I got older...then my father became "supervisor" over the work being done mostly lol. I wasn't good at all of it but to this day he still brags occasionally about my brake jobs....of which there were many on both truck & trailer.

    An article I read stated that talking to yourself can be a sign of intelligence and though there are those who are not mentally healthy most people use this method to come to a logical conclusion to a problem. I think it is like writing out a diagram or at very least writing out two or more columns to decide what should be done next or maybe what parts need to be bought, mental organization is good no matter the method I would think.

    Had carpal tunnel surgery in both hands in 1989. It worked out well. I was out of commission completely for about 6 weeks and wasn't at 100% for about 8 weeks past that.
    I used to work on cars but two motorcycle wrecks, a hip replacement and cancer took most of the wind outta my sails. My daughter drove my 70 duster bracket car and recorded its best E.T. at Da Grove. She's able to do simple things on cars like brakes and fluid changes but she works in the corporate world now and hires mechanics now. Lol

    My kid's do the same thing they repeat what i tell them to do if we are in a loud area or they are about yelling distance. So we know they understood what we said. And i will repeat what they said wife does it also. My wife laughed at the beginning of the video. I asked what's so funny. She goes u remember the day (Youngest Son) left lights on inside. And we had to use the One Ton Dually Crew Cab to pull start the KW. And i busted out laughing. The wife could not hear me cause the truck was so loud (Muffler's) She thought the truck was not capable of pulling. I said baby it will pull it. It's just loud cause of the exhaust system Glass Pack's and Echo Tip's. I aired up the air tank the same way u did to the semi. Wife was like she did'nt know u could do that. I said yeah u can. We had to pull start it cause i thought the jump box was in the Semi. I remember i had another son plug it in to charge it up. Lucky i still had chains behind the cab from a previous run. I had the mechanic install the jumper cable kit. Where u can connect the battery cables to charge or to jump start it without having to get where the batteries actually are. Cause i have to stepover the battery box to get in the cab. Where did Matt go? Hell have him do that so u won't injure ur arm more. Ha ha been there trying to remove the bolt's and nut's from the starter's. Jessie's eyes got big when she seen that ur battery box was under the cab. She was like that's dangerous being close to the engine. She asked if u had like a quick shutoff switch to the batteries and I said I have no idea. Finding a good place is hard to find. My wife Jessie got her dream house she wanted for a very long time. When it was up to rent to own she got it. But was struggling with payments. I moved in since she kept begging me to. So I did since I stayed at motels when I wasn't on the road. She was struggling with payments and also other things. That following Christmas I paided off the house to rent to own the house. And brought the kids good clothes and toys. We was just friends best friends. She was like stunned seeing the documents for the house. And watching the kids open up there gift's. We had a cellphone recording a video going around. And the oldest son got Jessie (his mom) opening up her gift from me. And it was the egannent ring and the documents that the house is hers and it's paid off. She was happy that I wanted to marry her. She was like how u know. I told the oldest daughter play it. She played the video of Jessie wishing that I would marry her and adopt the kid's. I did that the kids was happy. That following Monday I adopted the kids they signed there names. And months later we got married. That's good Matt has a job working.

    I used to spend a lot of time on my back fixing stuff on my vehicles. Then I started to get vertigo and that ended. So now I pay a good mechanic to help. Stuff still has to get fixed and I figure I can pay someone to keep my daily driver up to speed and I'll tinker with my hobby stuff when I can.

    • @thomasdragosr.841
      @thomasdragosr.841 2 года назад

      Vertigo is horrible! I had to change a fog light on my truck and could only reach it from underneath. As soon as I lay down under the truck I started to spin, violently, I broke into a sweat and almost threw up. It was all I could do to get out from under and sit up. That stopped the spin. Getting old sucks!

  • @billw4746
    @billw4746 2 года назад

    You will get through the pain. You would not want me to replace your starter. I can normally change a starter in less that 30 minutes if I have an exchange starter on hand. I remove one bolt and install a guide start. That will keep the starter from falling out and makes it easy to reinstall. For some that don`t know if that is a 50MT Delco starter it weighs about 80 lbs.

  • @tomriggs3926

    That spot on your arm is a symptom of Tennis Elbow. Repetitive stress doing mechanic work. Irritation of the middle and ring finger muscles rubbing together. You can tape the two fingers together, while working, so they move together, there are gel pads that you can wear on your forearm.
    And, massage the area of your forearm where those muscles attach near the elbow. You will find its likely very, very sensitive at that area. It may take time to work that out.

    The reason you talk to yourself if you need somebody intelligent to talk to. Taught my daughter when she was 14 how to change out the distributor cap and new plug wires. When she was in college went to get her tires rotated an WalMart wanted $60 she told them to stick it. She bought 2 sets of Jack stands and a small 5 ton floor Jack from Walmart. A DeWalt 3/4 driver impact and sockets from Lowes rotated her tires in her apartment parking lot. This smartass came up as she was putting the lug nuts on the last tire and ask if she needed any help she told him she could use a beer if he was not afraid he break a fingernail. Then when she was through she took everything back and got her money back.🤑🤑🤑
