I loved that game, until they gave us Seraph then I finished the game and threw the discs out my window. I'll always remember DDS as my biggest gaming let-down.... that said Gale will always be my boi!

@@Charger73_504 you get the same experience with the other dude they replaced Dante with. They have the same skill set but with different names. It's just flavor text that separates them.
@Phantom Retrospective Steam shows both Raidou and Dante as dlc though and that's probably how it'll be for the other platforms. So if we don't pay extra there's just no Dante or Raidou.
The only reason why Im thinking of playing this again. Is because of the skill inheritance system. In hd remaster you can finally, manually select skills you want to pass onto your fused demon
That’s great news. I can’t tell you the amount of hours spent trying to get specific skills. I almost wish I had a kid so I can be like, “Back in my day we had to depend on luck and algorithms to inherit skills.”

For the English and second Japanese release yes. Though he’s a DLC in this version.
Never played a single smt game, so this one might be a great chance to know anything about the series.
Wait to see what other people think. The Japanese version launched with several technical issues. It's a great game, but it seems Atlus didn't give it the care it needed.

Megami 4 Apocalypse was and is my favorite of all time, I've spent 150 hours my 3DS XL playing it. Hope so much that I will see a remaster for that one as well.

Strange Journey and Soul Hackers was remastered for the 3DS, and SMT4 came out only 7 years ago. I'd love to see a remake of SMT1+2 though
If i had to guess they will likely use this to see how well remastering SMT games go and then decide on that, just like how the Persona 4 Golden Steam release made Atlus make every new game get a PC port as well because how well it sold.

WHY IS THERE VOICE ACTING IN MY GAME NOW. This is so weird I kinda liked the dialogue and text boxes because I imagined how each character sounded and now it's all off.
No "Dante Reveal" in english voice yet? Well... That's gonna have to wait, DMC2 Dante that hold himself back in his wacky cameo in the Journey Vortex World.

Never played a SMT game before, but I love the Persona series. Are they comparable?
Nocturne is pure 3rd person Dungeon Crawler / JRPG in postapocalyptic Tokio setting. Persona 3-5 is Dating Sim and JRPG hybrid in highschool seting. SMT games are way harder than Persona games on highest difficulty.

Have to compare trailers if it's a multi play release. Most "remasters" are better at getting on xbox or switch seeing how you want devolopers to change things before it's released on your platform

How much harder is this game compared to Persona 5?
10 times there is no social interactions to help you like confidants it’s basically a apocalyptic world where your trying to survive
Normal in Nocturne is harder than HARD difficulty in Persona. Hard in Nocturne is not only even harder but costs for healing and items in shop is x8 bigger than in normal. New difficulty ,,Mercifull'' is just journalist ,,easy'' mode.

Happy for a remastered but $60 for a ps2 game? I heard the performance is pretty bad too. Like why does a PS2 game drop frames?

Becouse game runs on new engine (UNITY) and remaster was outsourced to small (13 people) no name company - Imagine Technology Lands (they ported SMT IV Apocalypse on 3DS, and port bunch of japanese mobile games into PC, they have literally 0 experience with porting games into big consoles, especially on Unity Engine). ATLUS has nothing to do with this remaster other than publishing. Price is high, becouse its typical SEGA regional pricing and its just a niche game. ATLUS just copied price from Catherine Full Body Switch version.
ATLUS fixed frame drops in patches, only Switch version still need optimiziation. In 1.02 patch ATLUS added manual skill selection in demon fusion.

Yes and no, Persona 3 and 4 borrowed many things from this game and naturally those games led to Persona 5 to being a thing.
Stronger focus on dungeons and battling, same battle mechanics just exploit weaknesses to win and instead of social links you kill your friends
