    I'm very excited for the xl drawer. I like to store my welding helmet and jacket together, and the sliding drawer on my Craftsman rolling tool box is great for that. No other system has something like that, so I'm probably going to choose this system for my shop. I have a few packout and Ridgid boxes, but if these are good and have a pretty square interior I'll probably completely switch over next year

    Nice video, Jake! I'm curious what type of plastic do you use for your prints? Some of the stuff I've printed using PLA have failed and become brittle over time. What type would you recommend to use for prints like these? Thanks!

    • @JakeWeihe
      @JakeWeihe  11 месяцев назад +2

      Pla is a one of the most brittle material. It’s actually very strong but can fatigue more over time. The best of the best would be something like PETG Carbon fiber, or ABS or ASA. But I use petg. Great balance of ease of use, cost, and durability

    Yeah, not to sure about a lot of these modular systems, especially for what they cost. I invested in ridgid a while ago, they were the best for the money for a l ou ng time. I thought competition would bring down the prices? Ridgid has gone up 40-60% from a year ago, but I guess that's most things... most seem a waste of space(milwaukee), with to much focus on aesthetics, with metal corners that serve little to no use. Flex looks a little better thought out, quality & price we'll see? This Tough Built looks well designed, but I question quality, and all of them are to expensive.

    Like the complete modularity ,unlike the difference between my PO crate and say the toolbox.
    The metal corners and bar in the lids are great for rigidity, don't hang dead rats or tools outside on them..just extra structure.
    How they're carried ,like transporter and wall storage.
    But I live in Ga where it's hot,that black will be unusable.
    The 3 points of contact including latch is asking to break on the 3rd tipover.. my PO stack has fallen at least 10x without breaking,since at least 6 tabs holding it and latch is only a latch.
    I use the boxes to carry my tools to the worksite,don't care for 200 accessories for papertowels.
    I will buy the hospital gurney and adapt it to PO.
    This will make fanbois happy,lots of incredibly stupid designs for men who want to use them for work.
    Some guy will paint his car to match,and get a vinyl wrap too.

    I just got a chance to play with the new system at Lowes. I love what I am seeing. And especially love the design/look of this versus the competition. The reason is because I can use the system to store tools as it is intended. But also for other purposes too because it doesn’t scream “toolbox.” Such as a modular system for my boat.
    There was two shortcoming that I thought of while at the store. One was whether they had drawers coming or if there will be a deep investment into this new ecosystem. Your video provided the answer to that question. Looks like a bunch of good stuff coming.
    The only other thing is the ability to open up the boxes on the bottom without having to separate the stacks. This is one thing I love about the boxes Festool uses. That said, it won’t be a deal breaker for me. I am liking the latching, look and design of the ToughBuilt system the most among all the new and old competing units for my purpose.
    Also love all the accessories and idea you have brought to the space as well. Keep up the good work.
