After so many years, I figured out that was a perfect combination of Chester's deep growl and Joe Hahn's rapid scratches. Magic!
I'm a producer and i have to say i couldn't agree with you more .. That scream in particular has so many overtones and harmonics.. You woudlnt even think that was humanly possible without a backing track. It's genuinely incredible. Chester was an absolute rarity and his memory will be cherished forever. RIP Brother.

That whistle/witch scream/ vocal Chester does starting at 0:41 is mind blowing. It’s like this ambient haunting vocal that he some how found the perfect place for, it just felt right and added a whole new layer of intensity to the song.

@@ThePWM777 Its a simple inhale scream. Most people don't do them because you can hurt your voice really badly with inhale screams. My older brother called it a pterodactyl scream because you can go very loud and high with them. Like hurting your ears screeching level of high. You are basically yelling while at the same time inhaling a lot of air.

I think that the shot at 2:29 is my favorite Chester's shot of all time. Rock am Ring has its unique features like some amazing screams and more close interactions with the audience, but everything in Live in Texas is perfect. All the songs was FLAWLESS. You go and listen to Faint (played on this concert) you really can't tell yourself if it's studio or not. This concert is the ABSOLUTE PEAK of Linkin Park.

24 years later and still listening. First CD I ever bought for myself was Hybrid Theory. Listened to it religiously everyday. This band and Chester has a special place in my heart. First celebrity death that truly deeply effected me. So thankful I got to see them play live.
I’m having a hard time accepting the new singer. She sounds great and is going to kill it for the new generation but you just can’t replace a legend.

since 2years i listen to lp addictively and his screams always gave me goosebumps but this one is too much for me. He literally sounds like possesed :p. Anyways the performance at rock am ring in 2004 was sooo sick, i literally regret that i wasnt born sooner just to go their concerts.

I'm brazilian, I live in the north of the Amazon, I remember how difficult it was to buy link park albums... I saved my money for months, I bought them all with great difficulty... I was at this concert, and this specific song has always stayed with me. I was a huge LP fan and was 13, and I was snuck into the concert by my uncle and older sister. Chester sounds, whispers, and screams from this song have never been the same. But I've never heard this from him in any other performance of this song since.
