Awesome work! The song is catchy and contains everything that makes TGI so great. Still running up and down. Can´t wait to try playing these tabs, thanks Chris! Btw the custom is sick as hell. 👍🔥
Please next album go back to your roots. Loved the last album and all your albums before it! Favorite off your latest is breathless because it reminds of old school the ghost inside.
Hey, appreciate the feedback! We can only and will only write what is true to us, and this is where we are as people and musicians at the moment. This is the most proud I’ve ever been of a collection of music I’ve been a part of creating. Totally understand if you’re not along for the ride with us, but we have to be honest with ourselves when it comes to what we’re writing! Either way, I appreciate you checking out the songs and giving them a chance!
@@ChrisDavisTGI Yeah I totally understand that. Just my personal preference. I guess I just prefer a more laid back clean singing style like engine 45 for example. Alot less post hardcore sounding. Showed my girlfriend "Secret" and she really enjoyed it because she's more into post hardcore/djent sound. I prefer "Breathless" great song. I guess if you take anything from this, coming from a long time fan of yours I think that hardcore/metalcore sound will be less likely to alienate your fan base. Regardless though, doesn't matter what I think and I absolutely get where you're coming from. Thank you for your reply. Crazy one my favorite bands guitarist replied, I appreciate it. Listen to your music everyday. Your riffs are genius!
Hey! This is my ESP Custom Shop, it is an SN model but made to all of my personal specs! There’s an unboxing and in depth explanation video on my channel!
Hey! The main riff has the low octave blended in with an octave pedal. We used the octave pedal built into the Neural DSP Gojira plug in on the record. I’m going to make a video about how I’m building the Quad Cortex preset for this song and how I’ll recreate this tones. Should be coming as soon as we get home from tour!
Hello again, I had a question if you dont mind. I was wondering if your custom is setup in drop a# or are you setup for drop d and using a pitch shifter or maybe vice versa? Im going to be setting up a guitar in drop a# specifically for you guys songs.. Ill be using ernie ball mammoths. Please let me know thank you.
Sorry for the late reply here! Historically we have played in 3 different tunings up to the latest record. Those were Drop B, #A and A. As of Searching For Solace we also play in, Drop D, C, G, F# and F as well. As far as the guitars physical tunings and pitch shifting, I typically try not to pitch shift more than a whole step if possible (Unless I'm doing and octave blend scenario), so my main guitar which is now my custom is tuned to Drop B, then I use pitch shifting to go down to A# and A. Then I have a separate guitar from the Drop D song and then a baritone 7 string I tune to Drop G that I then use pitch shifting to go down to F# and F! Hope that helps!
@@ChrisDavisTGI Thank you very much. I found your template and this is very helpful. The custom IR does appear to be missing. Can you tell me what kind of cab the "Take it to the Grave" IR is based on?
Drop D actually! Main/intro riff has the octave below blended in, the verses are pitched a whole step down (so drop c for that section), choruses are just normal drop d and the breakdown is pitched a full octave down!
Drop D, but theres a ton of pitching stuff happening. Intro riff has an octave blend, first pre chorus is pitched a whole step down, chorus is normal Drop D, second verse is a whole step down, breakdown is a full octave down!
The studio, the lighting, the guitar, the song. He’s got it all. ESP.
