There’s too much clear riffing in it I suppose. Modern metal fans have become so accustomed to overly dropped tune breakdowns and barely coherent riffs that something as melodic as this angers them

@@Zafire94 Has absolutely nothing to do with that. The Ghost Inside's older material was very melodic. What irritates me about this, is the total departure from their melodic hardcore roots. This couldn't be more catered to the mainstream. It's boring, predictable, and totally unremarkable.

I think you and I both know that the lack of talent in this band is completely laughable. 😆 If it was possible to have musical Down syndrome, this band of power-chord guitarists paired with the most redundantly boring, one-dimensional singer, would easily take the cake in the metalcore genre.
I do understand business, though. Since they paid your company to direct the video, you now feel obligated to pretend to support them. That's just how business goes. 👌🏼 It's no different than when a lawyer despises and wishes he could kill his piece-of-trash client, but will publicly support that client and only speak good of him in court..

Im glad to see Jim still with you guys, and Andrew seems to have gotten better somehow. To relearn like he has must of been incredibly hard. Hard work and dedication shows. On a side note, Jim is from my hometown and I worked with his sister for a couple of years. We would talk about bands all the time and she mentioned her brother was in a band. She never told me he is the F***ing bassist of my favorte Group.

I dont care what anyone says, this song is a banger. Ive been a fan since the very beginning, TGI has been my favorite metal band since i was about 13/14, people are going to bitch about anything, if a band changes their sound, fans bitch, if they do the exact same thing album after album, fans will bitch about that too. You cant be in a band for over a decade and not change and this kind of music will help them grow to a wider audience thus making them more money, which is great. TGI deserves to have some mainstream success. Its not like their new music is bad, every song theyve put out so far, earn it, split, this song, theyre good songs. Its just different, still slaps IMO. Cant wait for the album to drop!

I'd always thought that if TGI went sound it'd sound like Pennywise, Lagwagon, Ignite, NOFX, Rise Against. Not like something from a 00s Spiderman movie. But just like "Earn it" it'll grow on me.

@@g-milto "Death Grip" is alright at best. That song's breakdown is boring-ass "jump-da-fuck-up" core which is ironic, cuz TGI's breakdowns were what their songs used to be known for
"Earn It" is another snoozefest that you can have in the background and forget about while doing whatever.
None of the newer ones is as gripping and captivating as Mercy, or Avalanche, or Greater Distance, or Engine 45, or Through The Cracks. Or even Pressure Point or Unseen for that matter.
