This is probably one of my favorite comments because it’s exactly how I feel. I really wanted to point out how many of Annette’s supports pointed towards the Ashe one, but are the exact same time the Felix one is one of my favorites in the game I love all of the songs and how reacts to them thanks for helping me to articulate how I feel.

I don’t think so. Tying the main story of Edelgard and Dimitri to romance with Byleth hurts their individual growth and makes what is a story about growth and moving forward lost in a “I can fix them” story. I see where people can say they have moments, which is fine, but tying it to canon cheapens the characters, especially for Dimitri considering he has mostly the same interactions with Male Byleth who he can’t romance.
I think it's funnier to S-Support sothis after murdering Rhea in the Black Eagles route, because she still says "I must admit, you have done quite well." It's hilarious.
My personal favorite 3H pairing would have to be Lorenz x Marianne. While it does start like most of Lorenz’s female supports, with him trying way too hard to flatter the noblewomen at school, you can see over time how much he helps Marianne to come out of her shell. She’s stunned to find that there’s someone who genuinely thinks she’s wonderful just as she is, cursed-lineage or not. At the same time, Lorenz learns to be more sensitive about her needs, realizing that the best thing for Marianne isn’t shallow compliments or grand gestures, but just an ear to listen to her troubles and a shoulder to cry on.
It’s funny how much Lorenz shines with some characters. His and Ignaz ones show his true side as well. He is easily misunderstood tho. Als Marianne deserves the best ❤️
i wanna give an honourable mention to Sylvain & Felix's Azure Moon paired ending mentioning how they died on the same day, as if admitting one could not live without the other
The slow burn that is Claude x Byleth will always be canon to me, cause that's the route my girlfriend took while I watched her play. Those memories will stick with me forever. Claude finally confessing his feelings, made her beam like nothing else. I know that not exactly a bulletproof reason, but it will never change my mind.
Mercedes and Sylvain had a really meaningful support for both of their characters. It’s one of the few where sylvain seems really vulnerable and where Mercedes talks about herself. Plus playboy x nun is nice ;)
I think Claude and Hilda are definitely a Canon pairing especially since Claude's goal is to bust open Fodland's throat and what better way than to marry the daughter of the house that constantly fights your people plus she never betrays him and they compliment each other's flaws well
I think if every character has the same max affinity then Claude and Annette get paired up. I personally like this pairing since I like both the characters and it is satisfying narratively when you consider who Annette's father is.
Hubert is 100% canonically in love with Edelgard but Edelgard is even more blatantly in love with Byleth imo so I'm not sure that works for me. At least poor Monica is lucky enough to exist in a world where Edelgard doesn't seem to have a huge crush on anyone (her relationship to Shez is much more professional than her relationship to Byleth), but Hubert's crush is just fated to be... crushed in all of my saves xD
honestly i enjoy hubert’s love for edelgard because its not typical crush, he is 100% devoted to her and his love for her is almost akin to a priests love for his deity. hes in love with caring for her, making his whole life dedicated to serving as her right hand. he knows she doesnt love him in the way that lovers would, and i would say he doesnt love her that way either. its a very fun relationship that isnt typical unrequited love, its something more and unique
In all of my saves too I never rank up Hubert and Edelgard xD. For as long as I live, Edelgard will only be Byleth's ahah. I could see them getting married IF they killed byleth in blue lions route and reunited Fodlan under Empire banner. In three hopes they have a higher chance of becoming married, byleth just doesnt give a f about anyone except Shez while Shez is just Edelgard's tool for TWSITD xD
Not even an honorable mention for Claude and Hilda? Debatably the most guarded guy in Fodlan asks her to come to his home (implied to be his ACTUAL home overseas), and that doesn't even get an honorable mention? Don't even get me started on the "grab my neck" bit. [Since it might not come through in writing, I'm not really upset. Just giving a thought].
Throughout the past 8 or so years of my life, your title card is the only thing that's remained constant. I thank you for that and for providing us all with this amazing content for so long.
Never letting go of Linhardt and Marianne it’s the most adorable thing ever with them. Especially his confession when he literally says “come on don’t make me say it” when he’s been nothing but completely up front about his feelings. Plus the support is just quality for Marianne’s character when he goes so far out of his way to prove nothing bad happens to him when she’s around and all she does is make him happy.
Solid choices. Call me trash but Byleth x Edelgard was always the ship for me. Thematic relevance? Metaphysical connection? People created to destroy each other teaming up and falling in love? All the romantic undertones outside of supports? The title song out right saying Edelgard is in love with them? Them coming back to life, regaining their humanity while the woman they love literally hears their first heartbeat? Screaming, crying. Hubert's devotion is truly heartwarming however, damn I'd marry him myself.
There's no straight explanation for Shamir and Catherine. Them calling each other "partner" all the time and the emphasis they place on that status, Catherine breaking her stoicism coolgirl front to admit she's terrified of Shamir leaving her someday, Shamir teasing(SHAMIR!!! TEASING!!! SHE ALMOST NEVER DOES THAT) for them to get married, Catherine BLUSHING and getting flustered, and plus them having a paired ending where they fight alongside each other until the end of their days, no mention of them marrying anyone else? Come on. Plus they both have "cool gay aunt" energy. It's a crime to keep them apart. (Which I did on Crimson Flower. Cuff me up, boys.) Anyway, even if my favourites weren't on this list, I still enjoyed it a lot. You have a fun screen presence and it's always nice to find people also as entrenched in Three Houses madness. :D
Catherine/Dimitri having an A-rank is so crazy because it's pretty inappropriate considering they've known each other for so long and the very idea made me laugh
Lorenz X Marianne has been my number one FE3H ship since I first got their full support (on like my second or third playthrough) and they will REMAIN my number one FE3H ship, no matter how many times I play it. They’re so adorable, I see it as a requirement to get them together in every playthrough I do at this point-

Their A support literally made me abandon my plans of romancing Dimitri on my Blue Lions run. Just seeing Dedue finally say his name and Dimitri’s blush completely sold me on that ship
I'm not a shipper of Bernadetta and Caspar, but they're relationship is still cute for me. My personal favorite ship is Bernadetta x Felix. It's freaking adorable and I find that both characters grow a little bit because of eachother. I can write paragraphs about how their support makes sense for their characters, but I won't subject you to my obsession lmao. Anyway they're my OTP and I'm absolutely obsessed with them (along with Sylvain x Dorothea and Dimitri x Marianne). Great video, and felibern fans rise up!

I got Dedue x Flayn during my first playthrough and I was so surprised. But as I read, it actually made sense! Dedue cooks for her and they just have a carefree life. And I assume Seteth is happy because Dedue can absolutely protect her and they live a quiet life out of public eye. So it's a surprisingly good pairing
Mine would have to be Claude X Marianne, them bonding over their shared and similar traumas + him talking to her through Donte and their ending just made me so giddy
Lorenz x Marianne will always be my No. 1 FE3H ship. I’m a sucker for relationships where a extrovert brings out an introverts best self and the introvert, in turn, helps the extrovert be more mellow/sensitive. And then there’s how Lorenz sees Marianne’s beauty and views her smile as something precious. How Marianne appreciates his kindness and enjoys his company. And how he won’t push her to reveal her secrets and anxieties until she’s ready- UGH- it just all works for me. I also enjoy Felix x Annette, cause I think it’s the relationship that brings out Felix’s dorkier and kinder side the best. I can’t get over how adorable it is that Felix actually *seeks out* Annette’s singing. Even his support and confession to Byleth was devoid of any real development like that on Felix’s part. Finally, I 100% agree with you about Ignatz x Flayn. I thought it was cute how Ignatz saw her as a muse and how flattered Flayn was about it. There’s something tragically bittersweet about a relationship between them as well. An artist who strives to capture the beauty of a goddess he fell in love with and said goddess willing to wait centuries for said painting? That’s a pretty good fanfic right there.
only on the opening so far but i appreciate the grind! Back when Awakening came out, i put over 1000 hours on it, unlocking every possible S support possible- all the genders, every character, even every morgan parent convo, the kids stuff, all the renown rewards, etc. i was OBSESSED with it, but i def know it can be a real slog! good job! i am doing the same now in 3h and am just missing a few more people T___T
My personal favorite pairings are Yuri x Bernadetta, Dimitri x Marianne, and Petra x Caspar. I just feel like all of their interactions are just so intriguing to watch.
Oh my God, reading all the comments made me remember my favorite pairing of all time. Sylvain x Felix. You would think it doesn't work with how prickly Felix is on a daily basis but their interactions are just so cute. It really does feel like all their supports were queer-coded.
I honestly think my favorite support conversation is Dimitri and Marianne A support. Like they gives such good lines 😭 LIKE: "I promise to the goddess of Fódlan that I will never give you cause to despair." AND THERES MORE THAT ARE LIKE THAT
Dimitri x byleth is probably my favorite as I think it pairs well with the Blue Lion story. One that surprised me was Mercedes and Dedue with how much I liked it.
There were some unexpected couples I ended up with that I really loved! Ferdinand and Flayn had such adorable support conversations (though their epilogue was a bit lacking) The epilogue hinting that Ashe and Ingrid fell in love after years of fighting beside each other?! Felix giving up the sword to bake sweets with Lysithea??!!!! Also, my favourite Byleth S-Support so far is probably Yuri - made my heart (and me) squeal
Honestly Edelgard/Hubert/Ferdinand cracks me up as a polyamorous relationship because... Hubert/Edelgard is just great, right? Adding Ferdinand into the mix makes it hilarious because now they're all trying to annoy each other until death does them part

There are SO much pairing/endings I love so here are few of my favs: Byleth Marianne(my canon pairing because she is best girl) Byleth and Bernadetta on CF route because of how she grew and overcame her fear it’s sweet Any pairing with Lysithea getting to live her life, even the one with Hanneman but her and Claude is my go to, or Linhardt Mercedes and jeritza, their ending got me with the feels, same goes to Annette and Gustave Sylvain and Mercedes Felix and Ingrid Ignatz and Flayn Cyril and Shamir Hubert and Bernadetta Linhardt and every support he has Ferdinand and Constance, Edelgard, or Dorothea There are many more but that’s bout it
personally Lorenz x marianne hs always been one of my favs and also yuri x bernie, their story is quite beautiful and rly hits when thinking about it more
Yuri x Bernadetta is great and does make the most sense from a story perspective; but my favorite Bernie ship, weirdly enough, is with Raphael. Despite how naive and loud he is, Raph ends up being the most effective in helping Bernadetta overcome her social anxiety.

Sorry, but this video isn't complete without cake ship. Idk if you just hate Felix, but his ship with Lysithea is the best ship in a game. And on my playthrough /i got sh*fted by the game and for some unknown reason they didn't end together. Felix got paired up with Mercedes and when I saw that I decided to restart final map and kill off all the units that had A rank wth them for the happy ending they deserved... And then I saw the ending and was sattisfied with what I saw.
Hanneman and Dorothea feels illegal that’s why it wasn’t publicly announced 😭. However Dorothea and Ferdinand is literally enemies to lovers and it seems so sweet.

I think you overlooked Hilda x Marianne; they have a really cute line of supports that shows a side of them and their relationship that isn't really explored elsewhere. Some of my other favorites are Hubert and Ferdinand, Hapi and Constance, and Dedue and Ashe.
I LOVE Dedue/Mercedes. She’s a nun but she’s very openminded about Dedue and his beliefs, and is one of the people really willing to want to actively learn about his culture instead of just kinda putting up with him. Mercedes may be a church girl but she isn’t bigoted. I just think Dedue is such a sweet guy and he was one of my favorites in the game. He needs someone soft and kind like Mercedes. Just the way she wants to learn about him and his life is so cute!
I'm not really a shipper but Hubert and Ferdinand are definitely a ship I can get behind. They're literally blushing in their 2nd A support. I do prefer Felix and Sylvain simply as friends but there's at least some gay subtext in their endings. Like they literally stay together for their entire life.
Yes, Byleth and Sothis is the best. As you've said, every S rank with Byleth is too OP, but I always felt they were more fanservice than anything. Sothis was always the cannon for me, and I'll stand by that forever. But Shamir is the best one without counting Sothis. And even if it makes sense, I don't like seeing the Lysithea x Lorentz as cannon. Neither with Linhardt although I think it is the safest choice. Claude x Petra surprised me when I played the Golden Deer route. I always thought Byleth was the best for him, but I like considering Petra as cannon

The fact that Shamir X Catherine does not appear on this list when their story is one of rearranging priorities and examining the value of everything (even religion) compared to your partner, is sacrilegious. I remember when my switch said I had 790 hours in Three houses, that was probably February of 2020. I would say I have probably played the most with over 3000 hours at this point.
My favourite is byleth and Dimitri. He's just such a fleshed out character, and byleth brings out even more in him. Their relationship just warms my heart, especially everything he's gone through and with his trauma and mental illness. 🥺🥰

Solid choices. Call me trash but Byleth x Edelgard was always the ship for me. Thematic relevance? Metaphysical connection? People created to destroy each other teaming up and falling in love? All the romantic undertones outside of supports? The title song out right saying Edelgard is in love with them? Them coming back to life, regaining their humanity while the woman they love literally hears their first heartbeat? Screaming, crying.
Hubert's devotion is truly heartwarming however, damn I'd marry him myself.
There's no straight explanation for Shamir and Catherine. Them calling each other "partner" all the time and the emphasis they place on that status, Catherine breaking her stoicism coolgirl front to admit she's terrified of Shamir leaving her someday, Shamir teasing(SHAMIR!!! TEASING!!! SHE ALMOST NEVER DOES THAT) for them to get married, Catherine BLUSHING and getting flustered, and plus them having a paired ending where they fight alongside each other until the end of their days, no mention of them marrying anyone else? Come on. Plus they both have "cool gay aunt" energy. It's a crime to keep them apart. (Which I did on Crimson Flower. Cuff me up, boys.)
Anyway, even if my favourites weren't on this list, I still enjoyed it a lot. You have a fun screen presence and it's always nice to find people also as entrenched in Three Houses madness. :D
They make Shamir canonically Bisexual in Three Hopes and even have her reference liking women and dating women before which I love.

Lorenz X Marianne has been my number one FE3H ship since I first got their full support (on like my second or third playthrough) and they will REMAIN my number one FE3H ship, no matter how many times I play it. They’re so adorable, I see it as a requirement to get them together in every playthrough I do at this point-

I'm not a shipper of Bernadetta and Caspar, but they're relationship is still cute for me. My personal favorite ship is Bernadetta x Felix. It's freaking adorable and I find that both characters grow a little bit because of eachother. I can write paragraphs about how their support makes sense for their characters, but I won't subject you to my obsession lmao. Anyway they're my OTP and I'm absolutely obsessed with them (along with Sylvain x Dorothea and Dimitri x Marianne). Great video, and felibern fans rise up!

I got Dedue x Flayn during my first playthrough and I was so surprised. But as I read, it actually made sense! Dedue cooks for her and they just have a carefree life. And I assume Seteth is happy because Dedue can absolutely protect her and they live a quiet life out of public eye. So it's a surprisingly good pairing

Lorenz x Marianne will always be my No. 1 FE3H ship. I’m a sucker for relationships where a extrovert brings out an introverts best self and the introvert, in turn, helps the extrovert be more mellow/sensitive. And then there’s how Lorenz sees Marianne’s beauty and views her smile as something precious. How Marianne appreciates his kindness and enjoys his company. And how he won’t push her to reveal her secrets and anxieties until she’s ready- UGH- it just all works for me.
I also enjoy Felix x Annette, cause I think it’s the relationship that brings out Felix’s dorkier and kinder side the best. I can’t get over how adorable it is that Felix actually *seeks out* Annette’s singing. Even his support and confession to Byleth was devoid of any real development like that on Felix’s part.
Finally, I 100% agree with you about Ignatz x Flayn. I thought it was cute how Ignatz saw her as a muse and how flattered Flayn was about it. There’s something tragically bittersweet about a relationship between them as well. An artist who strives to capture the beauty of a goddess he fell in love with and said goddess willing to wait centuries for said painting? That’s a pretty good fanfic right there.

Back when Awakening came out, i put over 1000 hours on it, unlocking every possible S support possible- all the genders, every character, even every morgan parent convo, the kids stuff, all the renown rewards, etc. i was OBSESSED with it, but i def know it can be a real slog! good job! i am doing the same now in 3h and am just missing a few more people T___T

Oh my God, reading all the comments made me remember my favorite pairing of all time. Sylvain x Felix. You would think it doesn't work with how prickly Felix is on a daily basis but their interactions are just so cute. It really does feel like all their supports were queer-coded.

Yuri x Bernadetta is great and does make the most sense from a story perspective; but my favorite Bernie ship, weirdly enough, is with Raphael. Despite how naive and loud he is, Raph ends up being the most effective in helping Bernadetta overcome her social anxiety.

Whenever I replay the game (my "canon" route is AM for the record) I rarely deviate from these pairings if I can avoid it. I'll admit I do actually like Byleth/Dimitri quite a bit despite Byleth's complete lack of a personality. The story just flows so much better if your pair them up imo.
When I played 3h I ended up with these pairings, sadly they were the more underrated pairings so there were rarely any content of them :(

Sorry, but this video isn't complete without cake ship. Idk if you just hate Felix, but his ship with Lysithea is the best ship in a game. And on my playthrough /i got sh*fted by the game and for some unknown reason they didn't end together. Felix got paired up with Mercedes and when I saw that I decided to restart final map and kill off all the units that had A rank wth them for the happy ending they deserved... And then I saw the ending and was sattisfied with what I saw.
Hanneman and Dorothea feels illegal that’s why it wasn’t publicly announced 😭. However Dorothea and Ferdinand is literally enemies to lovers and it seems so sweet.
With how much special attention it’s given, I’d say that for the Azure Moon timelines, F!Byleth x Dimitri is canon.

I think you overlooked Hilda x Marianne; they have a really cute line of supports that shows a side of them and their relationship that isn't really explored elsewhere. Some of my other favorites are Hubert and Ferdinand, Hapi and Constance, and Dedue and Ashe.
I LOVE Dedue/Mercedes. She’s a nun but she’s very openminded about Dedue and his beliefs, and is one of the people really willing to want to actively learn about his culture instead of just kinda putting up with him. Mercedes may be a church girl but she isn’t bigoted. I just think Dedue is such a sweet guy and he was one of my favorites in the game. He needs someone soft and kind like Mercedes. Just the way she wants to learn about him and his life is so cute!
I'm not really a shipper but Hubert and Ferdinand are definitely a ship I can get behind. They're literally blushing in their 2nd A support. I do prefer Felix and Sylvain simply as friends but there's at least some gay subtext in their endings. Like they literally stay together for their entire life.

Yes, Byleth and Sothis is the best. As you've said, every S rank with Byleth is too OP, but I always felt they were more fanservice than anything. Sothis was always the cannon for me, and I'll stand by that forever. But Shamir is the best one without counting Sothis.
And even if it makes sense, I don't like seeing the Lysithea x Lorentz as cannon. Neither with Linhardt although I think it is the safest choice.
Claude x Petra surprised me when I played the Golden Deer route. I always thought Byleth was the best for him, but I like considering Petra as cannon
