Platoon Leader, Company Commander in South Vietnam, 1968 & 1971

Karl Swenson served 30 months in Vietnam-eighteen months with the 1st Cavalry Division in II Corps and twelve months with Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV). With the 1st Cavalry, he was a platoon leader in Delta Company and then with Echo Company. A year later, in 1971, he returned to Vietnam as an advisor to South Vietnamese Regional Forces/Popular Forces.
